I have one character with 900,000,000 influence and another with only 1215 influence and I want to give (email or whatever) enough to bring her influence to 2 million. I did this last year in the spring and prompltly forgot how to do it.

Can someone out there please help me?

Send yourself an ingame e-mail. You'll see a section where you can type in how much Inf you want to send on the e-mail form.

These days you can send it via email. You just have to make sure you're sending it to your global chat handle (include the @ sign).

Is ***** really censored, or did I get the wrong name?

EDIT: Holy smoke, it is.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. Who knew that his name was a bad word? I guess I've been living a sheltered life...

Surely, none of the rest of that movie is offensive.

I think it's also a derogatory term for a Mongolian. That's probably why. It seems you can't even say the word without the "-ian" on it either. lol

I believe it is a derogatory term for people who do not know how to send in-game emails.

Indeed. I was basing my statement on this other source: Mongoloid_race#Criticism

"Today, the term is regarded by some as potentially offensive"

"All the -oid racial terms (e.g. Mongoloid, Caucasoid, Negroid, etc.) are now often controversial in both technical and non-technical contexts and may sometimes give offense no matter how they are used. This is especially true of Mongoloid because it has also been used as a synonym for persons with Down Syndrome. A shortened version of the term.... <insert name here>"

Personally, I would have never made that connection without doing these searches. It's seems kinda silly that the shortened word is censored, but the full word is not.

Anyway, I hope the OP figures out the self-mail system. haha

I seriously doubt that the word in question got excised due to racial slurs but rather a way to get around the other more used R-word by reference to Down's Syndrome.

Recommendation : With no inf in it, send yourself an email to your global.

When it shows up in your email, REPLY to it with the email with inf in it - that makes sure it goes to the right place

I have weird independence issues in almost all cases, so my characters make their own inf. For 2 million it's easy enough: find level 50 set recipes that nobody wants (0 bids, 20+ for sale) and buy stacks of ten for 100 inf, 500, whatever you feel like, and sell them to the vendor for 5000 each.

Mailing yourself ten or fifty million inf works better and faster, though. And there's someone in the market forums who will mail out six million to anyone who asks.

It's doubly-silly considering that the word is being used here as the name of an established movie character. I realize that it's probably not the most "politically correct" name out there, but its use in this thread (and the related movie quote) is ONLY as a character name. Even the quote it's used in makes no direct derogatory slur against the character in question. It's technically as neutral as saying "John only pawn in game of life". Ironically what makes that quote funny is that it shows the character is very insightful and philosophical, qualities which are not usually associated with the negative use of that word.

This is why context is so important. Unfortunately as we all know word checkers aren't quite smart enough yet to know the difference. Maybe someday...

You never know. Some people think that Mark Twain's books would be better with those "racial slurs" altered to more "Politically Correct" terms.

This isn't a guessing game. As if there was no experience of such things and this conundrum exists in a vacuum.

It has to do with the history of the way language is used.

People were never teased for being Mongolian, at least, not in my half century of experience.

They were, however, cruelly teased for being "Mongoloid" as that word was once used for Downs Syndrome. And those didn't actually have Downs Syndrome were taunted with that word as a substitute for 'retarded.'

So Ghengis Khan led the ****** Horde??

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

I understand what you are saying.

I still think that anyone who wants to change a classic work of literature to be "less offensive" to people who are "sensitive" to certain words being used are idiots. Also, why I don't care for language filters all that much. Certain things, I can understand. But, to pander to everyone's wishes will lead to only 3 words being left uncensored. People need to grow a thicker skin and choose to not be offended at everything.

If I don't like the "language" being used in a book or a movie, then I won't read that book or watch that movie. That is why I only saw the first movie in the Blade trilogy.

yes, I have definite opinions about Political correctness. I'm sure you can tell which way they lean.

No, I am not saying that bullying, be it verbal, physical, or over the internet, is OK. It isn't. But, bullying won't stop until the bullied stands up to the bully, and says, "I choose to not be the victim. You can't offend me unless I choose to be offended."*

Now, I will bother you no more with my opinions on the matter and let you go back to enjoying your afternoon (or midnight, or morning) read.

*note: every rule or guide has its exceptions. Some people are unable, due to circumstances (physical or mental) to stand against opposition on their own. I know that as well. There is no one band-aide that will fix everything.
