Lusca should throw stuff like cars and dockside containers - maybe aim them at the station to encourage Heroes to get rid of her
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a better idea what lusca could do... with female heroes.
[/ QUOTE ]Those tentacles aren't really of the ideal size though.
[/ QUOTE ]
You just need bigger heroes (not necessary female ones) in schoolgirl uniforms -

So a level 36 couldn't hurt a level 50?
Was that what you meant Alvan?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, make a team of 8 level 36s and go against lv 50 enemies and see what happens. -
From where I'm standing, this looks quite gibberish.
GMs aren't lv 100. You already deal and get proportional damage when fighting GMs. Killing something that's even 10 levels above you is pretty impossible, more so if it's 100 levels higher.
a bit old, but useful place to start -

And what do Heroes get? A bingo hall in Atlas Park?

What a perfect place for me to start roleplaying with Grandma Gamma! -

I have a fairly simple question:
Is there any real way for a scrapper to make a decent contribution to an ITF run on INV. We are talking in a normal team with no dedicated(for the scrapper) healer and buffer
Considering how badly mullered the regen got on a run I did on Tueday, I would be included to say no.
What do the rest of you think?
[/ QUOTE ]
If the defender has Vengeance...
Edit: more seriously speaking, a scrapper does damage, crits can go through resistances... I don't see why you wouldn't contribute. How much you contribute comes pretty much down to your skill and the skill of your team (so if you're not playing on Union, you're just out of luck, but I heard the server transfers are cheap)
Damnit, can't keep my advise serious today.
Aaanyways, I really think any character can contribute on pretty much any team. The whole "we need an X to be able to do this" is a big fat lie if the people in the tenm know what they're doing.
Can't really speak for regens on ITF as I've been doing them with pretty much just Willpower or SR scrappers aboard. But in my opinion they've at least been great in dealing damage to the bosses and EBs and have been able to stay alive quite well (or provide much-needed Vengeance for the rest of the team). I guess regen might have more problems if they happen to be in the middle of an ambush when one spawns and have to deal with surprise alpha strikes..
Parting words: Just be careful and don't try to be a tanker (if it seems you are vulnerable like you described) and you'll be a valuable asset to the team. -

that extra dmg stacks with assault and the + dmg you get from sets so it isn't useless .

You're one of those people that still six-slot hasten because every bit helps? -

To make PvP appeal to a large portion of the playerbase, I think, as a minimum, the following needs to be done:
Team structured -- PvP needs to be restructured to be centered, and not only balanced, around teams. There needs to be team tasks, victory conditions for teams, and mechanisms in place to pit teams against teams.
Nuanced stealth -- The stealth system needs to be expanded and made more nuanced. Terrain, conditions, movement, power use and other should affect stealth (both adding and subtracting.) Staying hidden should require some amount of skill (and be, to some degree, counterable by skilled opponents), but the payout should be better.
Suppress travelpowers -- Travel powers should either be suppressed entirely in PvP zones (although that would require a complete redesign of the zones) or they should carry significant disadvantages to use. Penalties to stealth, accuracy, resistances and recharge, lingering for a few seconds after they've been used. It should be almost, but not quite, impossible to use them effectively in actual combat -- mostly they should be used as a way to get to the combat, then be turned off.

This might be a problem for those that actually do zonal team pvp. considering the team limit is only 8 (and i highly doubt that is something they're ever going to change) a lot of people would moan at being assigned to a random team, especially if they wanted to join up with members of their SG/VG etc. Would be a nice idea though if they could scrap the 8 man team cap for zonal pvp only
[/ QUOTE ]
"Oh boy, I got into a full team of 8.. Why are you all in the hospital?"
"We're farming for the time spent on the zone badge. The other 7 guys in the zone are actually pvp:ing... oh, sorry, make that 8, the other team is full now as well." -
[ QUOTE ]
What it would do is make the lives of people who are already into PvP easier, by letting them create a PvE build for leveling and farming.
[/ QUOTE ]
My glass is half full, your is half empty, but at least your's is filled with razor blades.
I know many people who have their main prepped for PvE play. They like their powersets and how they handle in the PvE environment, but have found out that the powers they have chosen and how they're slotted on the character they love don't really allow them to be that effective in the pvp fields.
They could of course make a more or less identical character (since they love the powersets and feel emotionally attached to the character), but with more accuracy and less AoE, but that's another grind to 50 and you now have two nearly identical characters filling your slots. -
[ QUOTE ]
Even if you could repec your build for PvP, it doesn't solve the problem of inbalance between ATs and specific powersets.
[/ QUOTE ]
But it would bring more people to the actual PvP fields. While it wouldn't bring balance to the ATs and powersets, it would drop the need to think about a character in the "do I want to make this a pvp or pve character" -way. You could do both.
Granted, the character I most PvP (Codlest War) with is in a PvE spec, because he's also a concept character. But he's in a lucky spot of being one of those few powerset combos that can pull it off (and not perfectly, I can say that). If given the opportunity to split him into a pvp and pve spec, I would make a more viable pvp build for him. -
[ QUOTE ]
You know like the costume slots where you can change your costume, might be we could have one PvE and one PvP powersets slot. In which case you can have a PvE build for regular play and have the option to switch to the PvP build upon (and only upon) entering the PvP zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd love that as well. The only reason it might be a bit complicated is how do you deal with the enhancements? The optional PvP build starts with none? That means I have to respec out from my current PvE build (several times) to move my purples into the new one. The initial build is copied from my current PvE build, down to the enhacements - opens opportunities for enhancement Purple-cloning... etc.
I'm amongst the people who'd love to see the ability to switch between builds as well, but there are a few problems here and there. -
Single target hold, power boost, some blasts and some melee attacks. I don't personally like the AoE hold of Ice, but it from the "blappinator" title, I'd say you might find use for that. And that you might want to dismiss taking the snipe.
So, basically these are the powers that allow you to achieve "holding, shooting and smashing":
Block of Ice
Glacier
Power Bolt
Bone Smasher
Power Blast
Power Boost
Whirling Hands
Total Focus
Power Burst -

I think this was all a pre-planned publicity stunt.
So, when are the rest of you planning on putting up your team registrations? -

The way I heard it, you just suck at making teams
But seriously, shame to see you drop out. -

Thanks for your comments. I actually resigned from the team i was playing for last night as i was tired of the accusation.

Just out of curiosity wouldn't the Orobouros menders notice players using the portal power from Cimerora anyway, along with a pre-council villain group who also appear to have gone back in time...
(Phew, visible spoiler avoided...)
Mind you I'm still trying to figure out how the 'Pocket D' teleport and 'Call' contacts on their (mobile/cell)phones still work from there and how the Cimerora mission givers seem to have cellphones, surely the 'Call' roman mission givers should be replaced with 'Summon Runner' which summons a roman herald who fades in, runs up to you, pauses, then runs off and fades out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah - being able to ring Marcus in Cimerora is weird - espcially if you're not even in the zone
I think it would have been ok if they made it so that you had to go to him each time - the zone's not that big, and it wouldn't have been too much trouble to return to him eahc time.
[/ QUOTE ]
That one is actually explained if you talk to the midnighter near the ourb crystal at Cimerora. They're using magic to allow you contact people there. So in this case, it's a sort of a documented "a wizard did it" -
I'm dropping the bible discussion. Not because this topic needs to stay on-topic, but because I don't think I can offer anything meaningful to it that isn't repeating what I have already said.
Golden Girl has her personal beliefs on how things work, and it's sort of against my personal beliefs to push her any further.
One can offer only so much advise before he starts turning into a foaming zealot preaching of the one true way of understanding things.

There's a distinction between private killing, and judicial killing - there's no real puzzle about commands that tell individuals not to kill, but says that killing in the name of God is fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're interpreting quite a lot there. -
[ QUOTE ]
Edited to show how much could be missing from The Bible these days.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly Not to forget that even if out bibles were magically transformed into the original language, the book is still a limited selection of the original texts. And furthermore, a selection that was not selected by the original authors but by some clergymen in the whateverth century who already had some own ideas about things, instead of just passing on the original. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, bringing it back to witchcraft again, there's also a well known command in the Bible that says "you must not allow a witch to live" - and it's pretty hard to see how that can be interpreted in any way that doesn't lead to murder.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but doesn't that go against "thou shall not kill"? At least if you say both these are true and command of God in the full extent.
What you're seeing is something along the lines of "Bible is written sloppily and has contradicting arguments".
What I'm seeing in those two passages is something more along the lines of "You're looking at a logic puzzle with an answer somewhere in the book that has some nice clues about it written in the form of the original text"
