  1. One of the 'rules' of what you get on the Premium plan is that whatever you bought is unlocked, whether you buy it with real money (e.g., Booster, Character Slot unlock, Going Rogue) or with Paragon Points once the Paragon Store is open.

So, if you bought Going Rogue, then, as a Premium member, you have access to Going Rogue.

Now, Going Rogue is supposed to unlock the Incarnate System for you. If you have purchased GR, you've unlocked Incarnates. Or, to put it another way, if you want to purchase the Incarnate System, you do so by purchasing Going Rogue.

So, it was asked on Ustream if purchasing Going Rogue will unlock Incarnates for Premium members.

And the answer from Clockwork O1 was: Premium members do not have access to Incarnates, only VIPs do.

    What?!

If Incarnates was purchased through GR, then why is there no access *at all* to it? That violates the first rule stated above.

Of course, this is completely contradicted by the Issue 21 Feature update that says that The Underground Incarnate Trial was purchasable for Premium members. It's Incarnate Content, but, purchasable, which contradicts what Clockwork O1 said.

    So, what's the real story?
  2. In a previous Ustream, they said they were working on more proliferation but they didn't know if it could be done in time for I21. So, it's still a *possibility* for I21. But, obviously, they can't announce it until it's done and they know they can get it out the door for I21.

On the bright side, even if it's not ready for I21, the new CoH:F model is that as soon as it's done, it gets released and no waiting for I22.
  3. Any suggestions about what to give Freeks that makes it so they have no reason to ever step up to being Preems or Veeps is a DOA suggestion.

As has been said, Freeks get access to about 80% of the game. Whittling the restrictions away to 99% of the game ain't gonna happen.

Also, some of those restrictions has nothing to do with purposely setting aside part of the game to make them want to pay for it. Many of the restrictions are to prevent Griefers from bothering the Paying Customers. And many of the restrictions are to prevent RMTers from bothering the Paying Customers or preying on the Freeks. If the Freeks want to step up and get more stuff, they should be paying NCSoft and not RMTers. The restrictions in place ensure that.

Did they get involved in the new business model and see the costings of the new for sale stuff?

    Did they have marketing expertise?

This whole change is about "Business" and being able to play the game has very little to do with running it.

Were they able to poke about behind the "Shinies" or just blinded by the light?
Why do I get the feeling that the response to any answer of any of these questions will just be rage?

    It's a trap!

  6. I'd like to suggest a SG Base clone feature. Sure, we'd have to pay for it, but some would find it worthwhile.

It would especially be handy for the Beta and Test Servers after a wipe.

Maybe they needed time to datamine to see if the one-click AoE buff was going to make MMs more overpowered than they are.

The END hit was still less then buffing them all but more than buffing a few, so, it really wasn't an onerous as some people made it out to be, especially since an extra slot of EndRedux in both upgrades took the sting out of the END hit.

Now that the shield buffs are getting the AoE treatment, it was time to re-evaluate the MM AoE upgrade, especially in light of iTrials which has plenty of AoE damage to hit pets hard and cause some MMs to do a lot of resummoning.

And there's a different Powers Team in place that may have different views than the previous team on this issue.

    1. Tomorrow ain't Thursday.
    2. And it's Daylight Saving Time on the US.
    3. And Britain and Europe is also in Summer Time which means it's still 5 and 6 hours ahead of the East Coast, not 4 and 5.

Sorry to pick on the OCR team, but, really, you all need to sit down and teach yourself better global timezone management techniques and standardize the display of time in your announcements. You all shouldn't be batting .500 on getting time announcements correct.

Find a program that allows you to input a time and gives you the selected timezones (like this or a spreadsheet table). Cut and paste. Then, do not put the times listed in prosaic form, which is difficult to parse. Use a table for ease of reading (and proofreading), like so:
There will be a forum maintenance at the time listed below. During this time, the City of Heroes forums will not be available, but please check our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates!
    PDT: Thursday, June 23, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
    CDT: Thursday, June 23, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
    EDT: Thursday, June 23, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
    BST: Thursday, June 23, 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM
    CEST: Thursday, June 23, 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM
    UTC: Thursday, June 23, 21:00 - 23:00
    • Notice I list the timezone first. That's because it's nearly useless to read a time and then see it's the time for a zone one is not interested in. It's easier for the user to find the timezone they are in or use as a basis to calculate their time zone, and then look at the numbers.
    • You should always include Austin Time (CT) so you don't get the server time zone mixed up with your own.
    • Always include UTC for the rest of the world.
    • And don't use relative terms like 'tomorrow' since that becomes meaningless the next day.

That's the First Ward. And that's Praetorian WW, aka, Sorceress Serene. And some Preatorian Snakes.

And we also see Mother of Mercy hospital and Diabalique's Tower and the Seed of Hamidon GM.

    That's all First Ward.

In Meteor City, we see a new type of Shivan.
  13. If you look at the church in the graveyard, it seems Praetorian Jesus died on a pike.

You'll have to see if the 400 per months in 'points' you get from being a subscriber can pay for a server transfer, if they don't already give VIPs the ability to do that for free. I'd wait before complaining about it.

EDIT: VIPs get 1 free sever transfer per month. (And we'll see if more can be bought with Paragon Points).
  15. All the folk you knew who had to give up the game because of the cost of the subscription can now come back... with all their stuff.
  16. They also mentioned another aspect of the difficulty of 'sprucing up' the old: Feature creep.

If you re-do Atlas Park Town Hall in hi-rez ultra modality how are you going to just stop there and not update the surrounding buildings... and their surrounding buildings?

They mentioned how with Faultline, the original plan was just a few neighborhoods, and yet, they couldn't help themselves and did a full makeover... which would have been the same amount of time as starting from scratch.

So, the problem is compatibility and comprehensiveness.

And before someone pipes up and says "I can live with them updating only Neighborhood X" you *know* there will be loud wailing from players about how Neighborhood X looks so out of place and the Devs *must* update everything else. It's just not the Devs who are stricken with feature creep.

I just hope that the 'low level zones' update is with the contact chain and implementing my oft made suggestion to model the arcs like the zone-arcs of Praetoria: One contact per arc; move all the doors to one zone (and one adjacent hazard zone); move all the one-off missions to a perpetual mission giver... or the police band radio; and pare down the arcs with multiple street sweeps or fedexes.
  17. The environmental artists hate Praetorians!
  18. It is literally the wall of a skateboard park and there is an art design festival taking place in the city.

There should be an investigation if it *wasn't* painted up.

Pft. That's nothing compared to when an undocked inspiration tray would float. And by 'float' I mean you could watch it slowly ascend your screen.
