  1. I'd be happy to take my Storm/Electric defender, lvl 39, or if you are up for an honorary defender, fire/storm controller (lvl 50).

    Let me know.

I specifically asked about this when I cornered one of the producers and programmers at the last meet and greet.

Any power which invokes an inviable pseudo pet has to be specially coded for the procs to work on the targets after the first. At that time Jolting Chain had not been 'fixed.'

I suggest a PM to Castle from everyone who would like to see this working
  3. I have run into people who dont want defenders (other then one token empath) and controllers on the team.

As a rule I dont want to play with them either.

  5. I like having a DPS / Performance meter. I find it very useful for maxing out my personal use of powers and abilities. I like having hard numbers to see and look at.

I also very much agree with the fears about elitism, E-Peen-ism and Jerkishness that may well and likely would result from having a 'performance' tool handy.

One big shortcoming of DPS type meters is they are very one dimensional. So it says 'Your a STUD you big number uber blaster you' and doesn't mention the part of the DPS from freezing rain, speed boost (etc).

*IF* the DPS meter could sort out Buff numbers, EG your DPS is 500, 150 of which was due to buffs A, B, C, from players X, Y Z.

And for Buff/Debuffers Your effective DPS is: XXX due to buffs, YYY due to debuffs.

Lastly there would need to be a 'Heal' listing or HPS.

I would want to see each person reported on the DPS meter with Real DPS, Effective DPS (with buffs/debuffs), Buff DPS and Heal/Mitagation HPS scores with breakdowns.

I could really see this being a bit to broad and in-depth to be workable though. It would still also lead to elitism and people being build/IO/Alpha police.

The other option I see as more workable, if have a DPS, (de)Buff effectiveness, and mitigation score and make it viewable for self only. Like netgraph and FPS are now.

So sad. Q-FLight used to be awesome.

A perfect little 'get out of being dead' power.

I was OK with the long recharge. I was OK with the increasing end cost.

The brown and smelly stuff is hitting the wall, hit Q-Flight and run.

Have to cut across talos or IP to get somewhere... hit conserve power - q-flight and go at max fly speed.

They're also among the weakest for control/support (the only way you can get weaker than a PB's 1 heal and awful stun power, is to have basically nothing to compete with it) and they're mediocre at personal survivability (would be good, if they had status protection or even if dwarf form had debuff resistance).
My fire/storm controller does significantly more DPS then my tri-Kheld and has tons of control.

I like my PB and enjoy being mr. versatile, I dont expect him to be the 'best' be nice if I could be 85% of the best at blasting and not run out of end tanking. (though recent changed may have fixed that)

    You don't have a fire/storm controller.

I'd say fire/kin while effective at dealing damage is over hyped. I think /Rad gets over hyped sometimes as well.

Storm is under hyped. It is a very strong set for (soft) control, debuff, and dealing damage.

    Sapping?

I was sapping whole spawns with my elec/elec dominator prior to SO's. Now that he is lvl 23 and has SO's he drops their end even faster. It helps he has two AOE's that sap well and more then sap some.

Well, I think everything he does except Aim saps.

    DING DING DING DING

    Give the man a cigar.

    To further clarify and reiterate;

As it was stated in the original post I made the 'hate' was all about server resources. Masterminds use as much server time as *SEVEN* regular characters once they take their last pet. How do I know this......? Because the next question asked by the crowd was "Why do you hate masterminds?"

I met Posi and spoke to him One on One at the first Hero Con as well. Unless Cryptic is using impersonators to represent the Dev's AND Cryptic is keeping the same, errr, actors on payroll then I am pretty sure I correctly identified who I was speaking too as well, Oh and well, Everyone was wearing name badges too. Dev's even had special glowy lanyards (at the meet and greet, dont remember them from Hero con)

Should I post pictures of the Hero-Con T-shirt? And the glowy statesman badge I picked up more recently? Or should I just take some screen shots of my characters in the Dark Carnival costume (hero con) or the Meat Doctor costume (meet and greet). Ever since I got the Meat Doctor thing I have been fighting an impulse to make an Empath defender for some reason.

EDIT: Look at how much he hates Masterminds! He hates them so much he doesn't want their pets to dismiss when zoning. Oh wait, but there's that bug with zoning, that's probably Posi's fault too.
I see; are you saying that an eye witness report is not "proof?"

You know, a person who was in the room with and heard him say it? At a Q&A session full of people who play the game.

Perhaps what you meant to say was that you were hoping to find a second source rather then publicly doubting the word of the poster who stated hearing the "I hate masterminds?"

You could like, PM Posi you know and check. Or for the matter any of the other dev's that went to the meet and greet. Well 1/2 of them anyways. We split into two groups so we could fit in the conference rooms.

Why are you being so defensive anyways?

I've run into it a few times. More so on my fire/storm controller or storm/electric defender then the pb.

I have also run into anti-kheld players.

All of the above are not what most people are like, just a very vocal few.
  13. I remember domination building on damage done (err pain inflicted), was this changed when my back was turned (while I was playing wow)?

Do you remember the first time they tried to fix pets and elevators? When you could still have an army of imps (pets) and they would go hostile on you at the door/elevator when you used it.

    Thanks.
My fire/kin used to peak out around 20 imps out, many more the time I was on a lab map and got all four of the chambers to give me a haste bonus.

My fire/storm could manage 12-15 at his best.

Sadlt those days are long gone.

Having just three imps does mean I am not hitting the summon pet button every 45 seconds or whatever it was. Lets me do other things.

Of course a swarm of 20 imps crawling over a spawn of mobs in and of its self was a whole lot of control.... all those imps taking hits that would otherwise drop my life total.

Posi stated that each henchman uses the same server time as a full character.
  17. Once the Alpha slot is properly working for PB added with fitness (stamina) also working for the class I belive we are going to really see the AT buff up a lot more then other classes.

Going for a global recharge IO (basically with the Alpha slot) with the new extra end/second (From stamina) will increase my DPS significantly as well as close my Dwarf's attack chain.

Question, as I am not at home for a few days (COH withdrawls are starting) the +end proc in one of the end mod sets, that can go in both stamina and each of the forms's right? With 2 active when shape shifted? Or is in unique?

With an added recharge of 33% with some going past ED and all that extra END, I am looking forward to being the blast-o-matic 9000.

Yes other classes also get to go Alpha crazy, however having less powers and a higher slots/power ratio will get less of an overall increase.

Sure, if I had more slots, I'd put more damage on Tornado, and the Build Up proc on the PA. Unfortunately, the build is super tight. Only after the gift of free Fitness is Tornado even possible.
I have a fire storm controller. Tornado is a 6 slot power. Find the slots. Max it out. Recharge, damage, end redux. The Achilles proc is a good choice as is a damage proc if your franken slot the recharge and damage you have room.

Achiles may not stack with its self, however your freezing rain isn't going to proc on every mob. Tornado will go find mobs and share its loving touch with them, procs and all.

I really like the idea of having the toggles suppress while in nova/dwarf.

It would make my tri-build much more viable being able to jump into human shape to build-up/use seekers/etc and feel safer about it. Nova gets a lot of mitigation by being at the ceiling and having toggles flash back on when I drop out could be nice.

  22. With the talk about hits, misses, and streaking (err streak breaking, don't know where my mind was for a minute), I have some questions about the ability I have recently discovered to display game numbers on screen. I specifically have my last hit chance showing (as well as a few other numbers) for my fire/storm controller. After several hours of game play, watching this number, I have observed only two results. 0% (eg I havnt been in combat for a time) or 95%.

I have a fair number of IO's nothing to exciting or exotic. I posted a build some years back and expect a search would still find it (I am back from a break).

I expected to see the hit chance change around a bit. Respond to debuffs, mobs over 50, etc.

Maybe I just stand too far back? Except I do a fair percentage of my total damage with hotfeet.

I can provide any specific numbers or information about the character, or is this the way things tend to be? A friend who tanks and does much more melee had suggested tracking last hit chance to know when to back off a moment.

    Any thoughts?

I have played, on and off, since before the release of issue one.

The 1.0 modifier and the 75% have both been around since then and to my knowledge the launch of the game.

Mids is taking a shortcut in how it displays the information.

To the original idea, if accuracy were to be adjusted by the devs, and should they wish to hide this fact, were I a Dev, I would simply tweak the random number generation process for To_Hit calls. I do not believe that any such thing, hidden or declared has happened.

You have not answered a key question in your assumed 'nerf.' Why would the Dev team change a process that has worked and is working? A core game mechanic that players by and large are quite happy with.

Should you be tempted to say that you still believe accuracy not to be working as declared, and that it was not changed on purpose, then it is a BUG not a nerf, and you should be prepared to post a significant amount of data supporting your claim.

Sets of to-hit rolls, reported and derived hit chances. The power used, level of the target, level of the 'Hero/Villian,' how the power was slotted, etc. Blocks of data with N lower then a few thousand really wont show anything. Even with a large data set, all you will really show is that random number generators in computer games are not perfect. I also suspect the streak break code will skew the results.

I have, over the years, watched many 'Acc Nerf' threads go by. None I have read showed anything other then game mechanics working as advertised.
  24. Thunderclap. It gets dissed because it only stuns minions. That still means a whole lot of minions are stunned. It recharges very fast and can take some really spiffy IO's.

Tornado. People just see the knockback and miss the damage, stuns, and debuffs.

Force Bolt. Doesnt do much damage, it does recharge fast and keep just about any one to two targets off of you.

Force Bubble gets a lot of hate, makes my MM uber.

My thought would be photon seekers from the peace bringer power set. If all three detonate and overlap the same target.
