I was thinking about this "new soft-cap" of 59% (inspired by an Apex run) and decided to see about getting a scrapper to it, and I ended up over it. This build is, at this point, purely hypothetical (though based on my claws/sr), and the only thing I'm not sure of is how well it still puts out the damage. So feedback on that side is mostly what I'm looking for (especially from BillZ or other Claws mavens).

Which is why I try to let the Brutes take aggro when I'm on my tanker unless they're a few seconds from dying. At which point I taunt them off near them so they can have a breather to heal.

Quote:Sprint won't take universal travel sets, so no, no BotZ in it. Mostly because it had busted-high defense set bonuses (the set bonuses have since been halved).Question about BotZ: It says it's applicable to travel powers. Is that just Super Jump, Super Speed, Fly and Teleport, or do simpler things like Hover and Sprint work? Because I can just snag my four veteran Sprint powers and kit all four out with BotZ if that's what it comes down to. But can I do that?
*edit*
And another question: What would I want mag 8 knockback protection for? Aside from specific high-yield bosses, do normal critters get higher mag? -
Quote:Precisely, the bonus XP is equal to 1/2 a level at your current level. Which generally makes them dingfests for low-ish levels.for question 1 see here
for question 2, lvl 50 toons who have unlocked alpha slot will earn a notice of the well the first time they complete it, for non-50s they will receive a very large xp bonus, both of the bonuses are once per week per toon -
Even though this is most likely true, I'd love to see 48 Thugs MMs teaming on an Orange Bagel map. Even though it'd probably crash the server they do it on.

Some people do, so it's very likely that the no FX option won't happen without all the power pools getting customization.

Quote:<snip>Come on... if you're running Apex or something and can't figure out how to use 3 entire power choices to make your character better, I'm a little disappointed. You're willing to grind away for incarnate shards, but not .. I don't know, pick up medicine pool, or fighting pool, or recall friend, or leadership. All these things would help the team, and some of them wouldn't even require spending more enh slots

Quote:At which point he gets a global name change token so he can change it to @WhateverHeWants, so the 5 minute weird name isn't really valid. That's just the login name. However, if there's a conflict about @GadgetDon, and he is Euro, and he first logs in on the character DonCocky, he will no longer be @GadgetDon. He will be @DonCocky, unless there already is a @DonCocky - then he will be @DonCock.

Quote:Okay, I'm studying to be a math teacher, and these puns are really stretching my limits. In fact, I'd almost say that if this series of puns continues, the thread will diverge from its original intent. That's a rocky subject with me. I'm not really sure if I'm up to it without eroding my already crusty credibility. Perhaps your magnetic personality would take the lead?
That's not to even start on how derivative some of the puns have been. -
Traps does not currently exist for controllers, but there is a high likelihood of it being ported, so Trip Mine needs to be replaced with something else, as that's currently in Traps. Other than that, looks pretty nice.

Just did all the steps in here to get it to work, but I can't get CoH to skip the updater (since it won't load properly from the updater, just goes to the banner and sits there) with -project coh

Quote:You fail. Try reading the whole gorram sentence next time. He's talking about internal bandwidth between the processor and its memory. I failed out of an IT degree program (mostly due to not attending class >.>) and I know the difference between that and the kind of bandwidth you assumed he was talking about.Maybe they're maxing out bandwidth on the memory interface. If so, MORE memory helps nothing.
Maybe they're maxing out bandwidth to their mass storage devices. -
Hmm.... It's missing the 10-15 foot PBAoE. Remember, every assault set has one, and I doubt they'd break the pattern here. Also, assault sets only get 1 utility, not 2. With Aim/BU counting as those, so you'll only get Soul Drain or Dark Consumption, with the other one replaced by some form of PBAoE attack. Perhaps a toned-down version of Blackstar like happened with Psychic Assault.

I've stated I'd rather have one of my kidneys removed without surgery than take English courses in college, and yet I did those and have both my kidneys. :P

Quote:Actually, we have never received anything where the devs have said "ain't gonna happen". We've received things that the devs said "we don't like what our predictions say would happen" (Market Merge), we've received things where the devs said "if we did that right now you wouldn't get new issues for a year or more" (Power Customization), and we've received things that the devs haven't really commented on (inherent fitness). None of those were ever a flat-out "no".So since we have recently been getting stuff that previously we were told, "aint gonna happen" I figure I may as well ask for something that probably will never happen as well.
<snip>
Thoughts?
Things we've gotten a flat-out "no" to:
Rolling back ED.
Purchasable (with RL money) inf.
Those two have been an explicit no, and I wouldn't hold your breath on anything that the devs have outright said "no" to, as we aren't going to get those. -
Actually, Akaloid isn't horribly weak. It's simply a common misperception caused by the fact that only MMs (who have a horrid heal modifier, actually) get it. If you compare Alkaloid to O2 Boost on an MM, you'll see that they heal for the same amount.

Quote:Actually, yes. And if you color it dark purple and red, you can even recreate something that looks like Akuma/Gouki's Satsui no Hadou (Dark Hadou).KM is the Hado ...any street figher follower would be able to agree ... pulling in the energy of the world around you and unleashing it!
Ok I kid...but I started saying "HADOKEN!" with my KM street fighter Ryu attack.
Now if they only added a Dragon Upper cut and whirling kick! wooot.
