Beats me, though I'm also morbidly curious to know who it is.
Sounds like something Millar would do though. -
For what it's worth, I was there last night hopping around the area for at least 2 continuous dawn to dusk cycles and she never showed.
-
I've never seen the Ultimate Avengers movies, or the Iron Man one. Doctor Strange was meh.
That aside, comparing quality, it's pretty much down to Hulk Vs. and Planet Hulk against 6-8 good to awesome animated movies from DC. So, DC by a landslide.
We have yet to see it, but Marvel needs Disney's animation muscle to catch up to the quality that DC has with the WB. -
Quote:Wow, you're an ambitious one, aren't you? More power to you, but I'm firmly of the opinion you're advocating a lost cause....
Why isn't there much of an interest in RPvP these days? Why aren't you personally interested in RPvP? What can be done to make RPvP more appealing? What sorts of RPvP-ish events may people be interested in? What is your attitude toward settling RP conflicts via RPvP? What do people think about organizing RP fight nights, tournaments, and story arcs that involve RPvP?
All of your opinions are of interest to me. I don't care if you're the badassest hardcorest RPvPer out there, or if your a 6.6 year vet with only one 50 who spends your whole time RPing -- this discussion is directed to everyone.
The Supreme Society tried RPvP a while back. However, we treated it more like pro-wrestling with pre-determined outcomes. We worked out the stories and victors in advance before entering any PVP zones or the Arena. Worked great with a few SGs of players that we had already known. Then we tried to bring in other groups.
Long story short, after all the excuses I had thrown at me from outside groups in regards to how utterly evil PVP is, even the extremely casual stuff we were doing, we gave up on it.
For what it's worth, I partly attribute it to hero players not wanting to "lose" to villain players. Now I'm not saying a villain needs to be dominant 100% of the time to be effective. But if a villain never ever succeeds at anything when a hero is involved, there's no reason for the villain to be considered a threat, and thus worth the hero's time.
And the other thing is that, in my humble opinion, too many RPers believe PVP, in -any- form, to be the work of the devil. But I'm loathe to text-fight, so it doesn't really go anywhere.
tl;dr- Go get an attention span. -
As far as stereotypes, I have three characters that are 15-18ish year old social misfits who are varying levels of socially awkward around girls.
As far as superhero cliches/tropes, sure I'm missing a few but these are the main ones that come to mind.
Ahreman the Red
Vireon
Caelesian
Ionican
Wardsman
Are all variations on the caped flying brick type.
Saberstorm is an inventor girl in anime-inspired power armor.
Johnny Megaton's Megabot 5000 is visually inspired by Gundams.
Shadow Scourge is a shape changing shadow guy.
Aceron is a Hulk/Doomsday style monster
Black Reckoner is a "street level" vigilante Daredevil homage.
Simon Specter is a modern day Robin Hood/Omar Little type character -
Dear gods I hope they don't go with another !@#$%^& origin movie.
Quote:I don't know about that just yet. With all the talk of Goyer's script being "a mess" there's room for re-writes during filming so that the movie might not suck. -
Is Hush still involved/alive/actually Tommy Elliot in the Batman Beyond comics?

1. Are you male or female?
Male
2. What ATs do you mostly play, and for what reason(s)?
Brutes, Masterminds, and post GR I've started playing Scrappers. I like AT's can dish out and take damage with a relatively straightforward playstyle.
3. Redside, blueside, purpleside, or any combination of the above?
I'd say about 60% red, 30% gray, 10% blue.
4. What are your favorite story arcs?
Off the top of my head,
Mr. Bocor - The Book and the Burning
The Radio - The Hit List
And pretty much all of the Power Loyalist storyline. Haven't played the others the whole way through yet.
5. What makes you like this game?
I'm a huge fan of superheroes and RPGs.
6. What other games do you play?
Action and RPGs mostly. Among others, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Morrowind: Oblivion, Overlord, if you need names.
7. How long have you been playing?
5 years on and off with breaks primarily due to technical problems.
8. How many alts do you have, what is the average level range, and how many are level 50?
30some alts on my main server, Virtue. Average range is about 20-34. Four level 50 characters.
9. Do you bother with softcaps, set bonuses, and all that numerical stuff? What difficulty settings to you normally use?
I don't bother with softcapping.
I mostly stick with SOs and don't go out of my way to start slotting IO sets until the upper 30s. Don't slot base IO's until 47.
Difficulty setting depends on the AT. If it seems like I'm breezing through content, I start raising it. If I'm struggling along, I don't. -
Haha. Cool. I've met some of the Steel City guys at the Pittsburgh Comic Con.
-
Stone's only 5 years younger than Garfield and this modern day Luke Perry crap. If they keep going down, they might actually get some people who are of high school age.
Quote:Yeah... Going through the sheer ridiculousness of BND and OMD, only to retcon it all away later on with OMIT seems to be... I don't know, pointless?eh, i dont know about BND, but i will nominate both One More Day and One Moment in Time as actually being the worst atrocities with the Spider-Man name on it. up to and including the Indian/Bollywood Spider-Man.
Nevermind how complex the whole thing is now anyway. There have to of been easier ways to cherry pick what they wanted in Spider-Man's continuity. -
Adding in alternate animations for like all the energy shooty sets works enough for me for profileration of a sort for now.

Quote:Erm, and how exactly does one do this?...
Where he says:
One folder up from the "City of Heroes" directory is actually the "Program Files" folder Not "drive_c".
After replicating his instructions through the graphic user interface substituting "Program Files" for the destination for the CohUpdater.exe instead of "drive_c" it worked! ...
Do you have to go through the Terminal? Or is right clicking on the CohUpdater and selecting Open With - Wine Windows Program Loader not the same thing?
And while I'm here, is there any problem to just letting the updater run and installing everything all over again? -
Cute. Figures my gaming comp dies just before this is posted. Must get fixed! >.<

So apparently there are two different versions of LtROI? A theatrical release that's "teh awsumest horror movie EVAR" and a DVD where the subtitles were poorly translated? I must have rented the latter, as my friend and I ended up shutting the thing off after 20 minutes. The opening sequence of...

Is Let the Right One In really that obscure? The only reason I even bothered looking into it were numerous reviews that called it the best horror movie in the last 10 years. Sorta like... whatwasthatotheroverratedmoviecalled... The Host getting ranked so high on sci-fi lists. Hell, I (regretfully) bought The Host at Wal-Mart after all the hype. -

So you can run CoH with Wine and without Cedega?
My Windows-run gaming comp died over the weekend, and I'm checking my options. -
Quote:Same here. A few weeks ago, I had a spur of the moment desire to make a gag concept (a girl in armor so bulky you couldn't tell it was a girl) character in power armor. Was thinking MA at first, but that wouldn't look right with bulky armor. Stone Melee didn't look right. Then I remembered I didn't have any high level Dual Blades characters. And then my thought process over the next few minutes was something likeUsually I have the opposite problem; I come up with a powerset combo and a concept and sit around trying to think of a name. ...
Crap! Need a name!
Um... swords... cutty... Sabers!
Wait, saber or sabre?
*googles*
All right, Saber.
Now what? Alliteration always works... s word... s word... STORM!
*checks for Saberstorm* Available! Huzzah!
Yeah, I got lucky there.
On the other hand, it took me a lot longer than I care to admit to settle on the name Ionican for a DA/FA "superhero" meant to run the GR Crusader storyline. >.< -
Quote:Heh. Anyone catch in between all the Explosive Arrows, when Hawkeye fired off his Entangling Arrow, Flash Arrow, and Ice Arrow at the big bad Brute?Well...
Micro-ep #10 is up. Hulk Arc conclusion.
Hulk vs. Black Widow & Hawkeye w/Gen. Ross playing spoiler. Let's just say Hulk gets a moral choice to make.
This could be an interesting series indeed...
Thank you for the time... -

At the time, local friends were playing, and I was looking for a new game. Plus, I've been a huge fan of superheroes for the better part of the last 20 odd years. So for me, a relatively open-ended superhero RPG=epic win.
5 years later, all those guys moved on or back to WoW, and save for a period that lasted a little over a year where my internet was royally goofed up, I've been here ever since. -
Invictus Rex- means "undefeated king"
Everion- means "to hit hard"
Nitroman
thesaurus.com is your friend, and I'm fond of intertran.

Once I realized Silver Scourge was free on Virtue, it took me... oh... about 12 tries to match the name up with a concept I liked before I ended up going -back- to a Bender-ish Bots/FF MM.
Heh, reminds me, the virtueverse bio page is here. -
