The idea of a fight between Muzzle and Dale Drake amuses me greatly.
Last night:
Kerstin dropped by to get a blood sample from Shanna, needed for a spell that Isaiah is working on. She was quick to gather it and soon bid people fairwell and headed back to the super secret shadowy base that Unit N have.
Lance 'Twilight's Flame' Silverstone dropped by and explained how Robyn was mean to him, but still offered her a steakwich at lunch today. There was some silliness on his part (Lance, silly?! ABSURD) that had people laughing till some tiny green bat started on about his shoes, helped in no part by Tarvin.
Lance decided to leave, feeling uncomfortable by their going on about things, which is a shame because he was discussing with Kumi the joys of Christmas + Hanukkah.
That man is loaded with chocolate coins come the end of the year.
Sean Wilson dropped by on his way out of the Vanguard War Zone and on his way to Ryan's for some dinner. -
Does anyone else feel this way? Looking at the faces added to the costume creator utilizing Normal mapping, they just look so...
Fake? Plastic? Sleek?
Almost like they don't fit with the rest of the body. I love the faces they added in... Issue 13, wasn't it? And the Organic Armour face I like as well. But the Steampunk Faces and the new Vampire Face for females...
Can't we have more faces done in the old style, where they don't look like they've had liberal amounts of polish layered on?
Also, if anyone ever thinks about replacing the old style faces with normal mapped ones, I will not be amused. :<
It's hard to quantify really, but I wouldn't touch any of them with a ten foot, normal mapped pole. Unlike my precious female Face 17, 23, 24, Young Face 1, Young Face 13, Supernatural Face 1, Supernatural Face 12, and many more. -
Vampire Female Face is not affected by most of the Face Scale options.
Same goes for Medusa Female Face. -

Here's a list of some of them!
As for some other things, there's Red Beast Energy Drink advertised on banners, Paragon City Pizza (Made Fresh By Made Men), and there's a new seafood chain that has a billboard in Talos Island, just above the PPD station. -
Tank without brain gives me an idea for a Hellboy 2 Johann Kraus type character.
-
I asked about the Invention Salvage Costume pieces on an uStream chat once, and the response was that they can be picked up cheaply from Wentworths.
Thing is, I like to be able to look at them and use them in the character creation process rather than add them on, especially in the case of wings. -
Last night at Founder's Falls:
Constance Svanhildr swung by, just as Tiger White was leaving in response to a text message. She had Shadowe to talk to though, and pretty soon Theo Dray dropped by as well. There were discussions on just what a tourist should do in the city (it was decided shopping, in Steel Canyon and Talos Island, were good ideas), and there was more talk of the impending walking dead.
Constance is rather looking forwards to that. She's never fought the undead, and the Ghouls back in Praetoria don't count. Which lead to Theo making a 'are they missing fingers' joke.
This spawned talk on bad jokes, and a bad joker that Constance once knew. The mood was lowered a little when she said he'd been killed on an IDF attack on Paragon City, calling a senseless waste, but they soon got back to discussing what to do for those new to the city.
When Wandering Wolf ... well, wandered by, there was some mention of fishing. And more jokes from Theo.
Chatter continued before Constance made the trip back to the Rolando Pound Storage warehouse in Independence Port, where she's currently staying with Zahir, Maxi and Five.
It was a while after her departure that a young woman came by with flyers for the Fuchsia Hourglass Restaurant on Talos Island. With winter coming, their switching away from their Autumn menu, and the flyer acted as a 10% off the total cost of dining there.
Flyers were given to Keevan, Theo, Brie, Richard and Shanna. I'm aiming to get the page for that restaurant up on the Unionverse wiki some time this week.
With her flyers handed out at all the stations, and a brief chat about meats of various kinds, she decided to head back to help with the clean up, and I had to be up at 0630 for an early shift at work.
(Woo, first recap post!) -
Founder's Falls, formerly the small colonial township of Smithtown. The Red River rose to shape the area, and it now stands as one of the most opulent and expensive areas of Paragon City to live.
The small park area around the newly installed Yellow Line station has become home to the people who used to gather at Galaxy Girl's statue in Galaxy City, before the Shivan Meteors struck.
With a planning bid for a small memorial to the event, it became the logical meeting point for those that used to go to Galaxy Girl, just as people met under the statue after The Prize called the heroes of the city to arms in March 2005.
Between the close proximity of the Vanguard DPO, the PTA Train Station and an entrance to interdimensional nightclub Pocket D a short walk away it provides a handy, if a little out of the way, meeting place with amenities nearby for drinks and food to go.

Founders Falls is the new meeting place for one of the oldest RP gatherings on the Union Server. From 9pm BST/GMT till whenever people leave, it's a place to find new friends, assistance and to take the weight off your feet.
Heroes and civilians are welcome. Vigilantes might want to mind mention of their lawbreaking, heavy handed ways. Rogues are generally welcome if the heat isn't on them and they're not mentioning illicit activities. It may not be the best place for a villain to monologue.
The old Galaxy Girl global channel, GGOOC, is still in use for the new location.

((PS. As someone who's been there for almost seven years now, I'll say this: Sometimes if plot is happening, characters and players can get a little caught up in it to be terribly social. Don't worry, it happens to everyone now and again. Give it a few nights.
My other recommendation is that a completely unsociable character is not a grand choice for a social RP meeting place. It -can- work sometimes, but those willing to say hello and introduce themselves typically do better.
Feel free to ask questions in GGOOC, and there's lots of excellent help available in the Union Roleplay global channel as well. Note that Global Channels are unlocked at Reward Level 3 for Premium players. As such, Free Players and Reward Level 1 and 2 Premium players can't access them.))

I've been working on a few business card style adverts for my freelance Mu mage that I can send your way, once done? In fact, I've got two now that'll do.
(I don't know if anyone ever came to a concensus for a country code top-level domain for the Rogue Isles, but co.et for Etoile seemed sensible and isn't in use.) -
Devouring Earth Cull in Talos?
Paragon Evening Times, 13/10/2011
A number of Devouring Earth were found destroyed near Eleusis in Talos Island today by regularly patrolling heroes. Mirror Max, one of the heroes sweeping the area, said "It was brutal, it looked like they'd had some of their arms torn off. Whoever did this was rather determined."
As always, the PPD advise members of the public to not go near the regions north of the old gate to Astoria, or north of the Warehouse District near the tunnel to Skyway City due to roving groups of Devouring Earth. -
I would like to request a Dole of Doves CCE to go with Murder of Crows.

Quote:The XP whiplash from Lemkin pre/post patch opened my eyes to it, and I checked on defeating Burkholder and Protean and found similar poor XP results.Welcome to every elite boss ever. A while ago, I fought an even con Nemesis elite boss, then fought a +1 Fake Nemesis boss and got almost 50% more experience FROM THE BOSS.
Elite boss experience has always been laughably low, and honestly... I don't know why that is. I really wish elite bosses would be given reward comparable to their power level. They almost always give pretty much the same rewards as bosses, sometimes even LESS than some bosses, yet they are considerably harder to fight.
This has been going on for pretty much as long as elite bosses have existed, and it needs to be fixed one of these days.
Of course, the likelyhood of it getting looked at is the same as that of Giant Monsters, I guess. -
VK: Don't forget that a Crab Spider can also take Heavy Burst from the initial Soldier of Arachnos powers.
-
Quote:I always fight him one on one. Well, one on two, seeing as he has that little Pumicite or Lost friend with him.Don't forget that he can be defeated by using Hover or any other flying power...
I like to watch him burn in the lava
Easy pickins'!
No honour the other way. :/ -

Before today's patch, fighting Lemkin always rewarded a fairly substantial amount of XP. Even solo, his rank was EB and his threat colouring was purple. I'd sometimes get half a level from him on lower level characters.
Today, post patch, Lemkin spawns orange, and gave my level 22 character with Patrol XP 1,404 Experience.
In the same arc (also patrol XP):
Temple Leader - Boss: 1,123 XP
Igneous Lord - Boss: 1,297 XP
Reymthin - Boss: 1,026 XP
Echidna - Boss: 936 XP
Considering the damage he can throw out with his punches, the risk of knockback into lava from his whirlwind power, and his HP, I'm surprised he rewards that few an amount of XP compared to other bosses that are much easier to defeat. -
Part of me thinks it might have worked better in Half Helmets, with the option to allow the visor to be in an up or down position, the option to remove the badge/crest, and the option to colour customize a few of the pieces.
Even as a hat, I'd have liked for the badge/crest to be removed.
First item not bought - Reason: While it's a fair item, lack of customization options and no ability to use Firefighting Hat 2 as a more general purpose hat. -
The Fire Fighter hat is for M/F/H characters, and the purchase unlocks two versions.
Firefighter Hat 1 had a visor in the down position, and a protective neck covering hanging at the back of the helmet.
Firefighter Hat 2 lacks the visor and the neck covering.
My opinion:
Lack of visor customization (no visor up position and no colour options), lack of badge customization (or removal to make it fit for purpose as another kind of hat) make this a no-get for me.
If I could have Hat 2 with the badge removed, I'd see some uses for it. As it is though, no uses at all.
Also as a note:
The Sales page brings up a message about it having nothing to offer me this week. -
Quote:The first time you complete an SSA, you can pick 1 thing as your first time completion reward.Question - can you get the reward table once per week per SSA, or once per week for any SSA?
If you play the arc again straight after, you can pick that same reward again, and then cannot pick that for a week on completing any SSA.
You can pick the other reward (if you're below 50) and the other two rewards at 50.
So, a Level 25 Character this week who hasn't completed any SSA:
Complete SSA 1.1 - Choose hero Merit as first time completion reward
Complete SSA 1.2 - Choose hero merit as first time completion reward.
Complete SSA 1.1 or 1.2 again - Choose Hero Merit.
Complete SSA 1.1 or 1.2 again - Can no longer choose hero merit, can pick 4x5 Reward Merit.
Complete SSA 1.1 or 1.2 again - Can now only pick 5 Reward Merits as the reward.
If Level 50:
I could complete SSA 1.1 or 1.2 twice to get the Astral and the Threads if I so wished.
After that is done, the only merit you can pick from doing any SSA is the 5 Reward Merits. -
It caps you to the level it starts you at if it's anything like SSA1.1. The range is 10-20 for it, if you start at 15 and get level ups, it still keeps you at 15.
-
When you start a TF, you get capped to the level you were when you started it if not beyond that range.
IE: I start SSA1.1 at level 13, almost at level 14. I level up twice to 15. The game will keep me exemped to 13. Once I complete the SSA, my level goes to 15. If I start it again, the system will keep me at level 15.
The range is likely 20-30.
I've taken to denoting the SSA's as 1.x, because otherwise it'll get confusing later on.
Who Will Die is the first in the signature story arcs. We've played part 1. So that's SSA 1.1. Today SSA 1.2 is go. When all seven parts are done, we can then see SSA 2.1 and so forth. -
The hero contact is on the hill in Talos Island North of the Vault building (North-north west of Roy Cooling)
He's a Luddite with a hat and a katana on his back. -
The only issue IMO is that the TAoE IO sets suck. They tend to go:
Acc/Dam, Dam/End, Dam/Rech, Dam/Range, Acc/Dam/End, and Dam/End/Range or a Proc.
I'd love to have a set with Acc/Dam/Rech instead of Dam/Range and Dam/End/Rech instead of Dam/End/Range. -
I struggle getting the inspiration on some days for a couple of hundred words, let alone 50k.
-
Energy Melee is the worst set for me, and I yearn for the day when it gets some love, including changing Stun in the same vein as Cobra Strike and Clobber got before it.
