  1. Here's a good one: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...=abbreviation*

Although, I'm not sure if that'll have Bridging or Anchoring, so here ya go:

Bridging: using a mid-level character to Sidekick a really low-level character, so that the low-level character gets more XP. The mid-level character is referred to as the "Bridge." Pretty much obsolete, as far as I know, since super-sidekicking came into being.

Anchor: an enemy (or friend) that is the target of an AoE toggle debuff. This is the enemy you want to take down last, since the AoEs on them are debuffing the enemies around them.
  2. I'll be moving, with my muscles surely on fire from the heavy lifting. No playing for me until Sunday.

    Stone Armor Tank

And don't forget that Stone Armor has two powers that can help here, too.

    1) Rooted contains resistance to Endurance Drain, so make sure that that is on.

    2) When fighting Psi enemies, drop out of Granite Armor, and turn on Minerals, which gives very good Defense to Psi attacks.

The "haflway" point to the lvl cap in terms of xp seems to be 44-45. But, is it really that much more xp going from 45-50 with the amount you get from mobs also increasing? I'm sure the ratio gets more out of line but it doesn't seem like it would take all that much longer.

I'm not concerned one way or the other, if I wanted a toon to lvl 50 that I wouldn't have two in the mid 30s right now lol and a gagillion alts in the teens. Just curious.
Back before the XP smoothing, the 'half-way point' was in the high 30s, I think level 37 or 38.

This was due to the fact that higher-level mobs did indeed give more experience. How the XP smoothing has affected that, I'm not sure, but I'd still say that level 38 is about at the halfway point.

How many S/L attacks can come from range? Melee defense won't do anything to stop ranged or AoE attacks, but S/L will.

It's almost a moot point, however, because melee defense bonuses always give you half that value in S/L and vice versa.

Personally, I'd go with S/L on this one.
Same. The S/L Defense will end up topping the Melee defense against most foes.
  6. While I don't overly mind the journey from level 1-20, I do tend to use the double XP weekend to get characters to Stamina. Once I'm done with that, I tend to focus on the higher-level characters, trying to push them to level 50.

Tbh, they should give you the number after 1 mission.
Why? Well, it makes sense, if you are conducting an investigation/pulling off a crime with someone, to be in decent contact, right? So, after the contactee has proved they can get out of a mess alive (first mission) they are then worth working with for the longer haul.
And, voila. Solve one big gripe with minimum of fuss.

    He says...
I agree. Although my major problem for a while now are the low-level ones, who give you a bunch of Fedex missions that don't seem to count as full missions for getting the phone number. Nothing like running all over two zones before you have a true travel power, and not even getting the number.

******** or not , its a request for suggestions .
You have your opnion , and i have a request and even more if its payable and profitable.
You dont have to pay i will pay for the booster class .
Guess tons will too and balance issue isn´t hard to solve .
Except, the balance issue IS hard to solve. You seem to be vastly overpowering the set, without any balance going into it to counter that.

Not having a nuke or a snipe? That really doesn't balance out the much higher sustained damage that it can do over other characters. Or the fact that it would make the entire Blaster AT unnecessary. You'd be doing more sustained damage, from a safer firing position. That doesn't balance anything.

And just because you think that by charging for this, it would make it okay, doesn't make it so. You think that it would make them money. I think that they'd lose even more, when people starting leaving the game due to inherent imbalances that this AT would bring. Let alone the fact that it would appear as if NCSoft was going to start charging for new ATs and powersets, which wouldn't be a good precedent to set.

And all of this is ignoring the fact that the Devs have just spent about 3-4 years trying to rebalance this game. They're not going to create something that is specifically designed to be imbalanced, just because people pay for it.

Dual Pistols for ranged characters is as close as you're going to get.

Was thinking more about the slow powers for WS on this one. They do have a profound effect, or atleast they used too - haven't played mine in a while. Thanks for the info on the Acc

    ie.
    1 Acc max for +0
2 Acc almost max for +2

is this inclusive of bosses and AV's?

Goblins will attack what's in front of them, if you tell them where in front of them is!!
The Slow powers on Warshades really aren't worth slotting slows in. It will only affect the speed at which the enemy can move, and as a Warshade, you're usually already in Mlee, or have the ability to outrun the enemies anyways.

And yes, the 1 Acc max for +0s, 2 Acc for +2s holds true against any foe of that level, including bosses and AVs.

Also, just so you know, the Nova forms of the Kheldians has a built in +ToHit effect on it, which helps you hit the enemies as well. Just in case you didn't know.

  11. First off, welcome to the game! I'm glad that you like it!

Next, I would check up in the Tech Issues and Bugs thread, a few up from the player questions forum, and see if there are any threads on this there. If not, feel free to post this issue there, but be prepared to give the guys there a lot more info.

Just to let you know, the Devs rarely post here. They do read the forum from time to time, but very rarely do they post in a thread here.

Still, I like the OP's idea, and would love to see it implemented.
  14. I asked Niviene about this a while ago, and was given the answer: "If you want to do it, go right ahead."

Basically, the Frequent Suggestions thread was made by a player. If a player wants to re-make the list, all they would need to do is make a thread about it, send the link to the forum reps, and have them sticky it.

If I ever have a slow day here at the office, and I have nobody sitting behind me, I do plan on doing this, but I have no idea when that might be.
  15. 1) Speak to one of the forum reps, or ask to speak to one of her supervisors through the e-mail you should have gotten.

    2) It is against the forum rules to discuss any problems with specific GMs, so you might want to remove the name from the thread title. Just a friendly word of warning there.

His secondary was Dual Blades or Broadsword - can't remember exactly - something with swords! We were fighting some custom mobs in an AE mission, that mostly did fire attacks.

After I sent my original post, I realized I couldn't recall if he had Blazing Aura going or not. I recall the Burn patch, but not the BA animation. Maybe that was why he lost aggro.
If he didn't have BA going, and/or wasn't using other AoE attacks, then he can lose some aggro there. Basically, anything not being hit with Gauntlet at that point he could lose aggro on.

Somebody more familiar with the Fire Armor set help me out here: does Burn have a Taunt component to it? My memory says no, but I'm not really 100% sure on that.

So, does the Fear component of Burn cause a reduction in threat to the AI, and thus loss of aggro control?
Technically, no, it does not. Meaning that there is no specific effect as part of burn that would act to negate threat.

HOWEVER, if the mobs run out of the burn patch, and don't run back in to attack the Tanker, then they can stop being affected by AoEs that the Tanker has, and as such, over time, can lose some aggro, and put you at the top of their list if you've been attacking/debuffing them.

However, the damage done by the Tanker, especially if the enemies have been hit by Blazing Aura, should be enough to have the Tanker hold aggro.
  18. No, IO recipes cap at level 50. However, there was a bug in the market window that let you place a bid on them for a bit, and you can still see these if you can find one that has a bid on it, and even place a bid for it, even though you will likely never, ever, ever get one.
  19. From ZombieMan:

The best way to stabilize FireFox (I'm assuming, since this has been a recurring problem for FF users) for these new boards is:

    1. Delete all CoH cookies: with both city* and coh* names.

    2. Disable CoolIris.

    3. Reboot to clear all caches

    4. Enter the boards with the http://boards.cityofheroes.com address.

I didn't need to disable CoolIris, but did the rest, and it worked fine.
  20. I had this problem a little while ago, too, and Zombie Man was able to help me out with it. Let me see if I can find the thread and his solution for you. Are you using Firefox?
  21. You can probably contact support for this, but I have no idea how much they can do about that.

Sorry to hear about that, though.

He's Ice Armor/ Ice Melee/ Ice mastery tank. This might not mean much to the people who weren't here at the beginning, but to those who can confirm this (Looks at Aethorn :P) Ice tanks used to not only be left aside, they were even laughed at.

I remember when I was first playing him, people would see me running around PI and ask me to use my powers cause they never saw an Ice tank that high level before...

I remember being turned down from missions/TFs, cause the leader said the team needed a "real tank"...

I remember that the only way I could get invited to a team, is if I had my empath friend with me...

But I stuck with him. Kept playing him no matter what. I learned his strenghts/weaknesses, and learned to work with/around them. Yes there was alot of dying/faceplanting/teamwipes, but I learned.

Today, my ice tank can herd like its an art form, go toe-to-toe with GMs/ AVs/Lord Recluse/Reischman, and has gotten the 100 PvP rep badge the honest way. I've been on teams where I have out-tanked WillPower tanks, Fire tanks, Invulnerability Tanks and even Stoners in granite.

My point to the OP is, if you stick to it and put enough love in that toon, you'll make a Elec/Elec tank that can floor any competition.

Take it easy, and I'll see you on the front lines.
<Walks out onto his front porch, cane in hand>

You young whipper-snappers don't know how good you have it! Back in my day, I could only run one armor at a time, and I liked it! Back then, we could either have good defenses, or Mez protection. But no, you couldn't have both at the same time! You youngsters get to have your cake, and eat it too! Then you complain that it wasn't good cake! Bah! Bah I say! And a humbug for good measure!

You could say that back then I had to walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways! But that would be making it seem to easy. No siree! I had to make my own snow to even walk in! That's how bad it was for us Ice Tankers! We were never invited to hang out with any of the cool people, and sometimes, I got the feeling that people tolerated me only for the added difficulty! Well, that and the cool effects.

Back then, all we did was take naps. Because we had no sleep protection. Yet all I hear from you young punks is "Oh, the Devs nerfed this," or, "Why did the Devs take this from us?" Well, you should be grateful! It's because of people like Ozmosis, and Tundara, and myself that got you to where you are today!

    Now get off my lawn!

    </old man rant>
  23. First off, welcome back!

Secondly, thank you for your service to the country!

That being said: you might want to check out the Suggestions and Ideas forum, located below the AT forums, in the "For Fun" section. This thread should probably be moved down there.

Besides the 'hide wing' power, which can basically be done using costume change macros, what else would be included in this booster pack?
  24. Aett_Thorn

The Dev you're talking about went over to Champions Online. And you can see how well that game is doing.
