Quote:This was never said.i would normally agree with this logic, except that we had many many years of the devs telling us that power customization was impossible
To clarify, it was always said "we can't do that.... unless we revamp the whole power system." Guess what they did to make power customization work? They revamped the whole power system. -
Quote:It's way more than 50. Will Domination is 70.85 before enhancements, meaning if you slot it up, it's 140-ish. Subdue is 47 before enhancements. TK Blast is 55 before enhancements, Psionic Lance (your snipe) is 99.77 before. If you aren't slotting your powers, they're not that great, but if you actually slot for damage, they're good.My extra 50 points of damage isn't going to turn a tide, but my 25% def buff will. That's my point. I know that the best way i can contribute to the group isn't by spamming my attacks, its by making everyone else into demi gods and keeping the squishys from being squished. If i have time to use my attacks between buffing, then great, i'll use them. But if i don't, then i won't, as my buffs are far more valuable then my attacks are to the teams survival.

Quote:No, it doesn't. When the faceplanting starts, debt knocks everything out of alignment. And leaving them logged out for 10+ days to eliminate the debt and get a full batch of patrol XP is not a (good) solution.Honestly, I think the leveling pacts are a relic at this point. A lot of the intended functionality seems to have been superseded by Super Sidekicking. Part of the reason for leveling pacts was to allow to characters to always be the same level, so that when they did play together they could experience the same thing without the need for Sidekick Tetris.

Quote:Okay, I have an Emp/Psi, so I'm going to level with you here. You have time in your buff cycle because you don't actually need to pre-emptively CM everyone. Doing it reactively is just fine, unless your radiation emission character is getting mezzed too often and having to re-cycle their toggle debuffs. And if you are teaming with an FF or Sonic, you don't even need to CM, as the only mezzes that get through are sleeps, which can be fixed by healing.Eh, i don't really want to throw anymore inf into my psi/emp then i have to, so making a secondary build for her, when i feel i contribute enough already is enough for me.
Looking over her build, fortitude recharges in about 21-ish seconds, so its about stacked up to 6 times, and my fortitude will contribute a lot more damage then my single target attack chain will. I'll have to do more then 30% of a blaster/scrapper/brute DPS to have my buffs be more valuable then my attacks.
If something takes extra damage from psi, and my buff cycle has gaps (like i don't need to CM people, as the ITF really doesn't need it) then i'll attack, but on the LGTF where every single group has mez, or the iTrials, where 1 hold can literally be the death of any squishy, my buffs are just more valuable to me then my damage. (until Marauder hits unstoppable, then i laugh as i'm the only one doing noticeable damage) -
Quote:So exempt level 50s?/unsigned
Sorry this would be far to easy to abuse horribly. Level 50's that have no more use for experience would be used to insta level dozens of characters up to level 50 via level pacts.
I think other than that it's a great idea, mainly because I have a *lot* of duos, either created prior to pacts, or whose pacts broke while I was away from the game that I'd like to repact. And no, rerolling a level 39 emp/psi defender, level 22 ice/storm corruptor, level 30-ish crab, or level 28 fire/fire scrapper or blaster are not options. -
Quote:I love how you use SoW as an example when it still crashes for 50% of your end bar. In fact, every T9 (in sets that have them) other than Granite (as a toggle with nasty -dam and -rech) and MoG (as a 15 second "defensive build-up, while old MoG crashed up-front) has some sort of nasty end crash, which almost always turns off your toggles (except One with the Shield, which crashes for 50% end like SoW does). Crashes on defensive set T9s are by design, and the devs aren't going to stop doing them any time soon. And if you are the tank that is tanking Recluse in an STF, and accidentally hit Unstoppable, you can't get out of there. I don't want to rely on luck in that situation. If I'm busy, you know tanking, I may miss the icon blinking. But this is missing my point.
The point is that you shouldn't have to worry about the consequences of a power crashing and whether or not you will survive having all your toggles drop. Especially if you are a tank or a brute where by nature you will be surrounded by lots of enemies at the time of the crash. That's just bad design and shows why Strength of Will is a much better power.
A blaster or defender nuke with a crash? Sure. But a tank? No. -
Quote:So? Practically half of the songs you can find use a chord progression directly cribbed from Pachelbel's Canon in D.Because, to the ear, they sound a ton a like.
And, someone put portions of the song side by side to play them (no link handy) and the melodies were nearly identical through the chorus.
(Look, for someone that grew up in the 80s, Gaga is pure early Madonna rip off in style and sound. It's fine, but it is incredibly obvious and the denials crack me up.)
The subject matter of the songs are different, the melodies are somewhat similar, but not the point of being the same. -

Quote:Not to mention that with Vigilance, a little off full health translates to a nice end discount. (Don't take it too far, though).
- Trying to keep everyone's health bars at 100% is a waste of time time and endurance. A little damage on teammates means nothing. So healing them every few seconds when they've taken 0-10 points of damage is imbecilic.
Also, from my own Emp/Psi (though she's part of a dedicated duo of emps, which is very edge case), Psionic blast is a great set. Psi Scream and Psi Tornado provide great -rech as an AoE, as well as Psinado's Knockup, Will Dom is a Mag 3.5 (IIRC) sleep, so it'll peg bosses, and the immob is, well, an immob. Can't go wrong with it.
And OP, you said five healing powers? Did you dip into Medicine or something? Because Empathy only has 3 heals (4 if you count the rez). -
-
-
Just to warn you, you probably will want to take Boxing or AS with Elec, as it only has 2 ST attacks, while it has 5 AoE attacks, Taunt, and then a Hand Clap clone.
-
Because quite a few Defender sets, if they could target themselves, would be absolute tank mages. An empath defender that can self-target would have the regen of a /regen with IH running, the defense of a /SR, and just shy of ranged blaster damage.

So why not solo a few missions? Shards can drop from all even or higher-level foes once you've unlocked your Alpha.

Quote:I still find it funny she bothered to be "against" Weird Al redoing one of her songs in the first place. She's such a silly little twit in the first place that the idea that she was "too good" to be subjected to Weird Al's treatment struck me as totally laughable. For her sake I hope she was never seriously against this and just pretended to be as a joke...Quote:Reminds me of Coolio and Amish Paradise...
I would think it'd be an honor to be parodied by Weird Al.
Something similar happened with his parody of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful", in that Blunt loved the idea and said go ahead, but Blunt's record company leaned on Weird Al's to make them take it off the album (which just led to him releasing it for free instead...) because they apparently didn't want him to be seen as a "one hit wonder". -
Actually, it isn't that simple. Because then you have to change people's work schedules, change the timing on alarm systems, and all sorts of other behind the scenes things. By doing it at the same time each week (at least the scheduled one), you know exactly when it is in advance, and when people need to be in at 4 AM instead of 9 AM. Adjusting schedules for workers is far more complicated than simply changing the schedule, because not everyone who is available at 4 AM Thursday is available at, say, 9 PM Wednesday, or 6 PM Thursday.
-
So.... don't? Baronyx posted that they are making other methods of getting your incarnate slots, including story arcs and repeatable missions. Which may well be soloable, and definitely doable with 8 or fewer.

Vegan pancakes (or crêpes) are very tricky due to the fact that they use egg, and egg is one of the hardest baking/cooking ingredients to replace.

Quote:Considering my friend's mercs/traps MM got mostly rares as well (he doesn't post) on his BAF runs, I'm chalking it up to random is as random does right now. Especially since I get rare table on my Ninja/TA MM often enough as well. But they also clearly said that once your participation pushes you past the "10 Threads" option, which I didn't even know existed, then its just down to the RNG.
So how come my level 50+3 MM gets commons and the odd uncommon
while my level 50 (pre plusses) defender (and a trapper too, so rellying on pet entities) gets rare pool nearly every time (seriously, 1 common, 1 uncommon, 7 rares) -

Quote:The person you're replying to was talking about the Unstoppable crash which is identical for all 3 ATs (and actually hits Scrappers and Brutes worse because they have less powerful inherents), and their advice for dealing with the unstoppable crash applies to everyone.....
(looks at forum title to be sure....)
Okay.
On a Brute, Unstoppable is actually quite a useful situational power, because a Brute has high resist caps and low resist numbers. Thus, the net gain from Unstoppable is much larger for a Brute.
On a Scrapper, the resists caps are much lower. Unstoppable gain is pretty minor.
On a Tanker, the resist number are much higher. Unstoppable gain is a bit larger, but not much.
So, as you say, on a BRUTE, unstoppable as it currently exists is a 'worth it' power, barely.
However, on a TANK, it is not. If you are tackling things that your 'standard' defenses can't handle, on a TANK, then you are doing something very, very wrong.
And if you're tackling things that your "standard defenses" can't handle on a tank it means that you're taking on something like Rularuu (with their massive ToHit bonus from eyeballs and massive damage) or something equally nasty. And T9s are an "ohshi--" power, which Unstoppable functions well enough as if you pay attention to your power notification area, and specifically look for unstoppable to start blinking. -
