Quote:Try #364d5d or Red: 54 , Green: 77, Blue: 93. That should be the background color for the Hero forums skin.My PNG optimizer doesn't like to do partial transparency, unfortunately. It's either a specific color transparent or not at all.

For the Villains forum skin try #5d3636 or Red: 98 , Green: 54, Blue: 54.
And for the sake of my OCD, here is a fully transparent, a villain skin background, and a hero skin background blank.

Forum legal:

Edit:
I just left the transparent versions in this post. If you have to create a sig button, please use the bottom, smaller image. The top image is for those that have the skill/ability to reduce the image to forum standards. -
Oh, I can see you fine. I just didn't want to see a ton of ugly buttons equating Free to Play with the bastion of capitalism. I am Canadian, I find patriotism shocking. I'm also a digital artist, and find poorly optimised PNGs and GIFs to be annoying to look at. The shadows on the PNGs should be translucent, not showing white, and the halo of white surrounding the buttons just are irritating.

Quote:This is a thread I decided to start to fulfill a few tasks:
1a. For us to be able to discuss/list possible improvements that could be made to the functionality of bases.
Interesting approach.Quote:2a. To present it before even those who are not conventionally base editors to find out what they would like that would make them interested in bases. (This is why I didn't put this in the Base Building forum)
Actually art time, while still a precious commodity, is far less valuable than coding time. If I'm remembering some ustream comments correctly, anything functional (coded) is, at the very least, a year out. Coding time is the scarcest resource at Paragon Studios at the moment. -
Quote:There are 2 auction houses in Praetoria.3) As far as I know, there are no Auction Houses in Praetoria where you are. I think there are banks, but I'm not sure. I do know there are vendors (not Merit Vendors) marked on your map that you can sell to. To sell Salvage and recipes to them, use the slider on to move the left side of your window down to see them.
One is in Imperial City, near the bank:

West-Southwest of the Cole Transit Authority station. Coordinates: (-1946.6, -7.5, 1018.1).
One is in the Imperial City Underground base for the resistance:

In the north-east corner of the Resistance Hub in Underground Imperial. Coordinates: (-1007.4, 332.0, -3462.8). -
Thank you for providing a one post opportunity for me to exercise the content blocking features of my web browsers. Now I don't have to see any of these any more.

Quote:The very rare components are the only things I'm missing from being able to slot 10 Tier 4 powers across 3 characters. I have another 4 characters that only have the Tier 3 Alpha unlocked. Conversely I only have 8 characters I can use the ascension (regular, decor, or radiance) parts on. So yes, the price is too much.A very rare component is just portion of what is required to enhance an already existing tier 3 Incarnate power by a rather marginal amount (25%ish). I am STILL surprised that you see 1.2 times that cost for an epic looking costume set that is unlocked for every level 50 on an account as overpriced.
I'll likely buy them as I spent a month on one character getting empyrean merits and also have an excess of astral merits, but that doesn't negate the fact that the fluff comes with an advancement penalty that is beyond what is needed. Seeing that the developer set price tag for the VR components is what it is, we know that the developers feel the price for the unlockables are worth around the same price as a PVPIO recipe. So about 2 billion Inf.
Feeding into this is the 25 million and 100 million inf price tag for the rare & very rare conversions (200 million inf + 16 uncommon components). If those numbers were lower, the costs on the costume parts were lower, the drop rate for VR components were better, or the Empyrean merit cost on a VR component was lower then it might not be so bad.
As it stands though, the costs impede character progression too much. -

Quote:I wasn't the only person advertising the RSF. Recluse SFs usually are something that happens often on Triumph Saturday nights. I was able to use those same channels to join a Kal SF after the 5 people on the team (including myself) gave up trying to get the last 3 people needed to start it. Yes, there were other things going on: LGTF, a lambda that took over an hour to form. This is usually where I'd assume that you have ended up on quite a few ignore lists, but instead I'll offer that, despite being the WTF, a LRSF is not a popular task. It takes too much time and has too much risk for too little a reward for most players. And it's redside.
Normally I get a lot of positive responses to TFs/SFs I form. Just not last weekend. -
Welcome back to the game, trex899!
Quote:Same.Haha, yeah, I figured there'd be a bunch of us.
I did send it before posting, but we'll see who's arrives first.
Heh, funny.
Yes, this would be a good idea. -
-
Conversely, Saturday night 9pm Pacific on Triumph, I failed to get enough players to do a RSF after 2 hours of asking on five global channels, at least one with 100+ players visible.

To my knowledge there were/are a limited amount of Hero Gear Kits at conventions, but that is all.
Hopefully with CoH:Freedom the in-game items will be made available. -

Quote:You don't have to use just one character to buy everything. Will we be able to transfer Empyreals and Astrals between characters under the same master account? Because I have about 20 level 50s and I've been spreading my runs around all of them.
Ascension for 10 Astral Merits x 7 items. 70 Astral Merits total or 10 Astral Merits from 7 characters.
Radiance for 6 Empyrean Merits x 6 items. 36 Empyrean Merits total or 6 Empyrean Merits from 6 characters.
Emotes for 10 Astral Merits x 4 items. 40 Astral Merits total or 10 Astral Merits from 4 characters.
Emblems 1 Astral Merits x 15 items. 15 Astral Merits total or 1 Astral Merit from 15 characters.
Costume Change Emotes for 3 Empyrean Merits x 5 items. 15 Empyrean Merits total or 3 Empyrean Merits from 5 characters.
Auras for 10 Astral Merits x 8 items. 80 Astral Merits total or 10 Astral Merits from 8 characters.
Path Auras for 3 Empyrean Merits x 6 items. Empyrean Merits total or 3 Empyrean Merits from 6 characters.
All these items are GLOBAL unlocks, so it doesn't matter if you use one or 50 characters to unlock them. -
So, about that subscription cost... Will there be a special VIP subscription that costs more than the current subscription? Will we progress from being VIPs to only being moderately better than premium players or will VIP players continue to be your core customers?
-
I would say that the chances for this would be "slim" and "none" with slim leaving not only the town, but the planet.

Quote:The full Radiance set, alone, costs 1.2 times as much as a single very rare component does. That is overpriced. They seem under-priced to me. The full ascension radiance set, which is unlocked for the entire account, costs just a bit more than a Very Rare would.
Getting all the items that don't have Astral Merit prices takes 2.3 times the cost of a very rare component or 1.15 times the cost of a PVPIO recipe. That places the value at around 2 billion inf. -
Quote:One question: What developer is responsible for the 1 Empyrean Merit to 1 Astral Merit Conversion?In-Game Merit Rewards
- Astral and Empyrean merit vendors are now stationed in Ouroboros.
- They offer new in-game merit rewards in exchange for Astral Merits (less valuable) or Empyrean Merits (more valuable).
- These rewards include Ascension Armor pieces, chest emblems, auras, social and costume change emotes, account rewards, and Invention Origin recipes.
- Each costume piece, emote or aura you purchase is unlocked account-wide by means of certification delivered via the Global Email system.
Okay, I do have a second related question: Why did no one point out that this was a bad idea? - Astral and Empyrean merit vendors are now stationed in Ouroboros.
-
Quote:Not global:So is it safe to say all costume pieces are global and will be removed once I purchase one of the pieces. So we know what is global and what isn't?
- An 18 threads Voucher redeemable on one character.
- A Incarnate Shard redeemable on one character.
- An Empyrean Merit -> 1 Astral Merit conversion. (Seriously Devs, what the heck are you thinking for this one?)
- Four Incarnate Threads redeemable on one character.
- An Astral->Reward Merit conversion.
- Incarnate Unlock redeemable on one character.
- Cape Unlock redeemable on one character.
- Auras Unlock redeemable on one character.
- Super Inspirations for current character.
- All Set IO (Standard/Purple/PVPIO) Recipes.
And yeah, the Ascension (both "regular" and radiance only are usable on level 50+ characters). -
I must have included one of the Ascension chest emblems by mistake then.
-
You don't have to use just one character. In other words, if you have one or more other characters with 17 empyrean merits (combined, across all the other characters) you can get the rest of the cited goodies.
-
Both Apex and Tin Mage require you to have the Alpha Slot unlocked to join, thus they are a part of the incarnate content.
