I'll be rolling a ice/time/power Corr... Aim + power build up + time crawl + time stop + freeze ray means i can hold bosses, and down them in record time. Plus Time distortion will make blizzard and ice storm that much more awesome, as things wont be able to run out of them at all.

Quote:Correction. I pulled this straight off the beta server, for a corruptor. So it should be accurate.Chronoshift recharges in 500 seconds
500/(1+4)=100
At the recharge cap it recharges in 100 seconds
Problem!
It lasts 90 seconds.
Perma chronoshift is impossible.
Chrono shift recharges in 360 seconds (6 minutes)
It lasts 90 seconds (the +recharge, the +recovery only lasts 30 seconds)
So, at the recharge cap (360/5) it recharges in 72 seconds.
Thus, its pretty possible. You actually only need 400% recharge (360/4 = 90) and with about 95% in enhancements, 70% from hasten, and 50% from chronoshift itself, you only need 185% recharge. Add in spiritual alpha and you can knock it down even further... -
I don't know about you, but my blasters aren't nearly squishy enough to die to a full group of mobs as quick as you seem to be thinking.
Soul drain will be amazing on melee blasters, which you can very easily pull off with capping lethal/smash defense, and chewing inspirations.
Oh, and Neutron bomb, takes 1.848 seconds to animate... Yea the giant ball takes awhile to travel, but its still boosted by the damage of Soul drain, allowing you plenty of time to move around. Irradiate takes 1.32 seconds to animate, which is about half the time Fire sword Circle and combustion take to animate. Yeah, the DoT takes 4.6 seconds to run its course, but again, its still being fueled by Soul drain.
You could also Soul drain -> PBAoE nuke -> blue -> Dark consumption (i think /dark gets that) then and use the buff from Soul drain to keep throwing out high damage attacks...
While BU doesn't build any aggro, it only lasts 10 seconds. Soul Drain, lasts 30 seconds, and can reach the numbers you could get from BU.. and you can even perma it (assuming you keep it at the target cap) -
my girlfriend thinks #57 is a Cylon... ya know, before they went all skin toned and copying people.
After a quick google search, i think shes right.
Also #116 is the robot from the Droid phones, the smiley one you see all the time on commercials.
oh, and #130 is Serge from Caprica
My girlfriend's making me edit this post every time she finds a new robot. I love her so much and all her nerdy-ness. -
Quote:Eh, what else am i going to do with my billions of inf.. might as well make a strong and pretty scrapper that is both, Strong! and Pretty!FYI don't waste your time making a WM/EA, its a complete turd with it (SOs wise). Now going Axe/EA is beautiful and worth its weight in gold. Perhaps with another shield it may shine but definitely a set needing IOs to make it pretty doesn't add up. Just my two cents.

If he means in an attack chain, He's trolling.
If he means in the build, he might have a point. Blazing bolt is not just a pretty nice way to build domination up, but it can take some pretty nice sets, both in the bonuses themselves, and in the cost to get said sets. -
Quote:I'll second this, /Time is a pretty busy powerset.A) Too many damn powers that need taking.
B) Too many damn powers to click.
Quote:C) The buff isn't that great. If 50% +rech from my Chrono Shift doesn't put into the stratosphere of +rech then, uh, screw you.

Quote:D) The +dmg isn't that great, and the added healing isn't that great. -
Usually what i do on the BAF is i have 2 people per door (on a 16+ group) and the rest cover roads. That way if anything escapes the doors (i like controllers on doors, damage on roads) its usually taken some damage, and can be killed easy.
Its about an 90% success rate for the extra astral, but again, astrals are only as useful as the threads/items they convert into..
But i would still convert all astrals into threads, or just stockpile them in the event they add something to convert threads into the next currency, or allow you to use astrals to convert into the next tier.
On the container/crate section, i just have everyone nuke the crate/containment. Ignore the adds and just go. You can't clear the map, and most of the patrol adds respawn anyways, so instead of trying to fight a timer, and debt, just cruise through the phase and get to beating on Marauder. You'll get more iXP and an extra astral from taking out your bent up aggression on the adds that spawn with Marauder then you would be trying to clear every group at the crate/containers. -
Well i'm planning on making a DM/SR scrapper, then a Street justice something or another (prolly willpower, or invuln) then a staff/willpower for sure, and now i wanna roll a mace/EA.. I need more character slots....

More or less what johnny said, except most of the massive, unresistable mechanics can be avoided (anti matter is the only one that really can't, but his time stop hold is on a timer, so it only happens a few times throughout the fight)
Basically, the trials are something entirely new to what we had before. Its not quite tank and spank, but its not like 'run around like a chicken with its head cut off' either. Organized Chaos is probably the best way to describe some of the trials.
And the 'MMs have it the worst' is really dependent on who you ask. My bot/traps/mu can pretty much solo crates/containment chambers, and survive long enough for her pets to show up (as you'll likely out run them) thus increasing her survival even more. Almost all of the Avs AOEs do about 50% damage to pets (thus benefiting Bodyguard mode usage) and the massive unresistable damage types either completely unaffect pets (like Marauder's nova fist) or do very little actual damage (the towers in BAF)
If you don't like you don't having to resummon a few pets every once in awhile, you'll hate the trails because the trash mobs will kill your pets pretty quickly if your not paying attention, but all in all MMs have it much easier then other ATs due to the reduced damage, and immunity to most mechanics that was bestowed to their pets. -
Darn it, i already have enough alts i want to make. Stop making me wanna roll a strong and pretty Scrapper too...

Only thing i can think of is the MFing Warshade guide.. with Deux should most here shortly
-
Hi Ultimus! Not sure if you'll remember me or not, but I'm glad your back. Your the main reason i swapped to Mu master on my bot/traps (that, and they unlocked Patron Pools, so you can respec into different ones now, and pick any of them no matter what contact you run)

If my napkin math is correct, a decent build earth/time/power controller should be able to AoE control entire AV groups due to stacking holds from Volcanic gases, Time disruption, and time stop as well as fossilize and stoney..
Once you perma Chrono, you'll get perma hasten, triple stacked Time disruption, and perma Volcanic gases.. which means more holds and control then you'll know what to do with. Add power boost to make your single target holds last longer, and all the debuffs from both earth/ and /time and it'll be a pretty nasty combination. -
-
Actually currently the brute version doesn't have enhanceable -regen resistance in fast healing, so the 29.95% is just base... not sure if its intended or not though.
-
I know nothing! ... Especially when Hazy wasn't really doing anything to cause you to post after him.
Oh, and while i would love a red side Hami raid, i just don't have time for it And i know for a fact MMs wouldn't be able to tank hami. All of the attacks are AoEs.. and unresistable, and usually have some pretty nasty KB or -heal/-regen. All things that make MMs cry.. -
Having perma Chrono Shift will help with the endurance drain that spamming /time could cause. granted, with a lot of end reduction slotting, or the cardiac alpha boost, you can manage your endurance without relying on Chrono shift.
I just know on my ice/time corr, on just SOs, i was basically rotating between Conserve power and Chrono shift to keep my endurance above flat lining... -
Quote:Well, the +res is VERY nice, make no mistake.
It would be even nicer if the bonus would raise the tanker's res cap by that amount.
Suddenly: AWESOME.
Eh, the +res is only nice on select builds. Invuln would pretty much be meh for lethal/smash, stone is in the same boat. Fire, elec, and dark armor might enjoy it, but only for a little while, and only if the proc rate, and percentage of it is worth actually using (as those builds can still get upwards of 50% lethal/smash resistance, plus usually 90% resistance to their specific damage type (being energy, fire, and negative) SR and ice could use use, but it would have to proc at the same time of them getting hit, and SR has the scaling resistance that will help out more (and could even cap their resistance at very low HP values)
Willpower is basically the only armor that i see using, and abusing the +res proc, due to the layered mitigation built into willpower already, and the fact that +regen is multiplied by resistance and defense values to make things even more durable. -
Quote:Well, taking in game, it really depends. iTrials seem to be chuck full of bosses/EBs, and very very durable AVs. Which means when you get to the damage cap, the Corr could very easily overcome the damage of a blaster. Not necessarily. Blaster attacks do more damage than Corruptor attacks and Scourge doesn't happen all the time, so you'll be doing more damage on attacks that Scourge but a fair bit less on those that don't. In practice that means that at the damage cap Corrputors are better against hard targets and Blasters are better on weaker ones that you don't get to Scourge on much. Which AT is better overall depends on whether you are fighting lots of EBs and AVs or lots of regular mobs.
But it really is hard targets (bosses/EB/AVs) vs soft target (minions/LTs) -
It could just be the combo. and the mobs he's fighting a lot. Council seem to pack a TON of robots in that level range (mech men, hover thingys, etc) and Psi damage does about 50% less to robotic types. Try going after say Crey.. i don't think they have any psi resistance at all..
-
-
It scales with level. My katana/regen on beta (straight port from live) has about 50.1% -regen resistance, with all his slotting. Hes also level 50.. it might make that much of a difference.
-
While i can see the usefulness for a +res proc, especially if its something like 5 - 10%, and stackable up to 3 times, chance to double the effects of Gauntlet (or allow Bruising to spread to multiple targets) would fit better, especially with the other AT IO sets adding to inherent powers wherever possible.
-
Quote:They would stack, but only if they affected the same target. The thing with being surrounded by mobs, and having 2 taunt auras active (one being a damage aura, the other being a debuff aura) is that if one aura misses a mob, the other aura will probably hit it, keeping the mob on top of you anyways. If both auras hit the mob, then your taunt affects are just doubled. but with Gauntlet you shouldn't have any aggro problems anyways.I don't think the aggro auras stack. I think I read that in Dechs tanking guide maybe?

I do think Ice should get more DDR, but it'll never happen. I don't need it though.
