Last week he spawned right outside the Talos entrance/exit to Pocket D. And it was one that had lvl 50 critters around it. Kinda nasty.
-
I started back in I6. My first toon, a Spines/SR scrap, hit 50 in 3 months. She was not farmed. My second took 2 months.
Without PLing/farming, and just teaming and TF's, you can go 1 - 50 in a couple of weeks if you put in a lot of playtime. -
Oi, perhaps it was more like 20. I didn't keep a timer running. But he fell very quickly.
Believe it or not. *shrugs* I don't really care. And I'm not going to be pulled into a "did not!" "did too!" arugment on the internet. Not even going to bother looking at this thread again.
Have a great Christmas! -
Quote:You are free to believe that I didn't do what I claim, if you want. It makes really no difference to me. The toon is a Fire/Rad/Fire on generic IO's, about 15 slots completely void of anything at all.I'm sorry, but I have a hard time accepting that anecdote without more info. What powersets? What powers did you use? I have a video in this thread to back up my experience. Can you offer us anything to compare?
Edit: Also, what difficulty? Was he a +0 or a -1?
When you're on a toon that has 5 holds/disorients, its not all that difficult to hold the bastage outright. And then there's hot feet, choking cloud, the imps...
Uh, not everyone videotapes their gaming session. I wouldn't have the faintest clue *how* to do such a thing. And with my computer, I doubt I could, anyways. I can't even dual box without my PC locking up hard.
Default settings. X0 +0.
Again, you can believe whatever you want. Oh, I had no trouble with my scrapper, either. -
I had 110 saved up from last year. I listed them on WW for a whopping 5infl each. not my fault they went for 300 - 600k each. *shrugs*
Get on Lord Winter teams, as someone already mentioned. You could probably get more than a hundred in the course of a play session. -
I was quoting you, not specifically saying that the OP was very upset. You suggested that he doesn't sound happy "this way." Kinda makes him souond like a depressive. Only the OP can tell us what is going on and I never said that it was stupid of him to ask a question.
All I said was, that if he was seriously "upset" over being an alt-o-holic in a game that *encourages* altism, then probably more was needed than a post on a message board. I doubt any of us here are liscensed therapists.
Again, I quoted *you* and responded to *your* statement that he doesn't sound happy as he is. Honestly, he doesn't. He, IMO, sounds like he's afraid that what he's doing is wrong, when it isn't. He shouldn't feel like something isn't "right" especially if he/she is having fun and not causing problems.
The vast majority of the playerbase has 2 accounts, many people having even more than that... Doesn't someone here have 6 accounts with almost 500 toons? And I know there was someone here once that had 13 accounts.
Short version - he should be able to play how he wants without being unhappy that what he's doing is wrong. Its how that entire post, at least for me, comes across. -
Quote:If this issue and his altism upsets him to the point that it affects his happiness, he may want to consider counseling, not a message forum. And no, I don't suggest that sort of thing lightly. Also, to those suggesting the OP just keep playing the way he wants to, sounds like he's not happy this way.
This game is largely about the creation process and alts, anyways. Well, it used to be. -
I ran this before maint. with my controller. He took all of 10 seconds to take down. I notice no change in difficulty. *shrugs* And my toon has a lot of empty slots, the majority of my slots filled with generic IO's. I have 0 sets.
-
Are you having fun? Can you afford the 4 accounts? If the answer is yes, then keep doing what you do. This is just how you like to play the game. If the altism is truly upsetting you...then honestly there is nothing that anyone here can do for you.
As for me...I have 2 accounts with 250 toons total and 28 lvl 50's. I've been here for 5 years. When I get some extra money I plan to buy all the slots left available for me on Justice...both accounts. -
I ignore people that do the whole "SB PLZ!!!!" thing. Thats just rude. When I play one of my kins I always try and keep SB on everyone. However, yelling at me the second the icon starts blinking...or yelling at me and being *across* the map in a *different* room than the rest of the team?
Bite me.
A kin is more than just SB and I am not going to be anyones personal buff bot. I have no problems giving SB and, like I said, I try and keep it on everyone at all times. But I abhor people who think that just because I am on a kin, that I somehow suddenly become their servant at their beck and call. I will not stop mid-battle and SB you; not if it means keeping everyone else in one piece.
I tell teams when I join: SB should only lapse for a couple of reasons. 1. You are across the map in another room. I will not chase you to buff you. 2. The battle isn't going so well and other powers are needed far more than me SBing you, especially if you have no problems with your blue bar. 3....you scream SB PLZ! at me...especially if you still have the damned SB icon next to your name! -
Got one!!!
I have never been this lucky in all my life! -
Wow... I actually don't have a tank on infinity... On *either* account.
*Runs off to think of an idea* -
I have 28 lvl 50's accumulated over 5 years.
So far 4 have become incarnates. 3 of them already have their uncommon slotted and 1 of them only has the common, hoping to get her uncommon one slotted sometime today. I plan to make all of my 50's incarnates...eventually. -
People that play this game are only human; and with the thousands that play, you're going to get some very bad apples. Don't let the one bad apple that you ran into spoil your fun. Global ignore and move on. At least...that's what I would do. Someone can only destroy your good time if you let them.

Quote:You're overexaggerating. I ran tips last night with my husband. After 5 tips he had gotten 3 shards and I had gotten 2. We went straight for the objective on two of the 5 tip missions.it's the "occasionally acquired" that sux, so far they have been rarer than purple recipes. I really don't want to farm or grind for what are key components of the game for 50s.
This just seems like the devs trying to push people into TFs because they weren't being played as much as they wanted. (maybe becuase it's so hard to get a team together !!)
The other day I ran my farm map, just to see how long it would take. In about 45 minutes I got 5 shards. That's about even with 45 minutes on an ITF. The thing is, it just *feels* like it takes forever for them to drop when you're solo. And they are not rarer than purples. I've gotten 1 purple compared to about 50+ shards. I already have uncommon boosts slotted in 3 of my 50's, 2 of them with just a common boost slotted.
Nope, not hard to get a team together. Some of the best teams are found early Aussie evening. My husband teams on TF (Justice) regularly around 5 - 7pm Aussie time...possibly even later. The other night at about 7 your time, he ran a STF and a Tin Man. -
I have had that bug happen *once* after over 100 quit to character select, log outs. No, that is not an exaggeration. I had to log in all of my toons on account number two for day job switching. =P
It is working just fine almost all of the time...on my end, anyways. -
Quote:Yes. It feels extremely tedious though. I farmed for about forty five minutes on X8 +1 with bosses. I managed to get 5 shards from it, which is close to what you'd get on a TF. I've been running kill-most/kill-all TF's for the past two days and in 1.5 hours or so, I usually end up with between 4 - 8 shards that have dropped.according to the I19 patch notes, incarnate shards are supposed to have a chance to drop from lvl 50+ enemies in PvE. has anyone had that happen outside a TF.
I actually expressed a little frustration on a global channel while farming. I said something to the effect of: Man, feels like it takes forever and a day to get a single shard drop without a TF.
That led to people telling me that this was an MMO and that TF's were the way to go and that's how shard drops were designed...etc...
Looking back on it the farm was almost a little bit better time wise, but it felt incredibly tedious.
Long story short, yes, you can get shards from regular missions. -
My plant/rad/fire went with Nerve. I already have the uncommon for the 33% Acc/Hold. Love. It.
I almost went with recharge, but the more I looked at nerve, the more I saw it as being benificial to me. In the end of it all, with he big rare, its 33% to:
Acc, Hold, Confuse, and Fly, all of which, I use. I think going with nerve will give me more bang for the buck, so to speak.
I geuss you can always experiement and see what works best for you. Contrary to popular belief..."moar recharge!!11' isn't always the answer. -
Quote:Then perhaps this is going to be just the AE monkey fix. About time, but they really should tell us what "this" is.My system appeared to verify the I19 predownload, apply it, then downloaded another 10 MB or so and applied that. One odd thing though: the launcher version number still says Issue 18, even after closing and re-opening it. Color me confuzzled.
They usually say, when a new issues is going to live: The servers are coming down for an extended maintanance period (whenever) from (whenever to whenever) to publish the latest issue (issue here) to the live servers!
I've seen some form of the above with every issue since I have been here (I6.) Why do they need to be so cryptic about it?
And aren't the downtimes for new issues generally longer than 4 hours? I seem to remember most of them taking 6+ hours of downtime...one of them took 7.
And with this whole issue that people are now having with the patcher (me too,) then this might very well *not* be what everyone is hoping for. =/ -
I19 does seem likely, but why couldn't they just announce the servers going down to publish I19 to live? They've done that with all the other issues that I can remember. Instead they just said that the servers were coming down for an extended maint. period.
-
Not possible.
A friend of mine left the game back in April for a while, she was gone for about 3 months. She deleted every single toon that she had before she left.
When she came back she contact support to see what they could do. They were able to restore about half of her characters, the rest unable to be restored due to corruption in the characters' files or something.
A couple of weeks or so won't be any trouble. A few weeks...maybe. A couple of months, a possibility for a few. A year? No way. -
I do wonder. I mean, this is the first time that they haven't come right out and said: Extended downtime for publish of issue such-and-such. And wasn't the last issue a 6 hour downtime?
I, for one, will be disappointed if it turned out to be something other than I19. It does seem like that is what it is, but at the same time it doesn't. -
Quote:I just did this. Shipping is free or you may pick it up at the store of your choice.Keep in mind that, since this is a purchase from Best Buy, and NOT from NCSoft, it's probably a physical box, not a digital purchase. Which means that you'll have to pay shipping and (possibly) sales tax, then wait for the box to arriver before you can actually use the code.
It'll still probably be cheaper than a digital purchase, but possibly not as much cheaper as you'd expect. -
^ If you mean the GR collection, nope. You buy a hard copy through bestbuy.com (NAmerica only, I believe) and either have it shipped free or pick it up in store.
-
Just took advantage of the GR deal through bestbuy.com
For those who were worried about it, shipping is free. Or (and I am doing this) you can pick it up at whatever store you like, providing they have it in stock.
