Well, from your choices, go with the DM/WP Brute.
In my experience, Invuln is great against particular enemies, but blows against non-smashing/lethal damage until you get a bunch of IO sets to plug the holes.
Willpower is great if you can keep the critters hugging you, and Brutes get the full Taunt whereas Scrappers only get Confront, so Brutes have a better time convincing the spawn to snuggle up and boost your regen. You might not need Dark Consumption (except as a panic button), and you can take Air Superiority or Jump Kick and Spring Attack to fill out the attack chain.
BUT, if you want to go Full Awesome, go DM/SR Scrapper. Easy to soft-cap, and then you never get hit, so you're effectively as tough as WP or Invuln with Siphon Life keeping you topped off. DM is mostly single-target so there's no benefit to herding; you just bounce around punching and crit'ing everything to death. Everything is equally unlikely to hit you, so you don't need to worry about sappers or carnies or clockwork kings... only stupid nasty critters like those eyeballs in the Shard or certain glittery Devouring Earth. -
My dark/elec defender was the first defender I got to 50. I think a dark/dark could solo fine once you got high enough to have a decent attack chain, but I really don't know about GM/AV fights.
I have a dark/dark Controller and it seems light on the damage. Loads of control, though.
I haven't done much with Corrs or Doms... which I'll have to rectify while I still have the chance! -
Was it announced at which zone and location this will be held?

I'll be going back to the old standby: Progress Quest. They even have an online game now: http://progressquest.com/play/
I had avoided MMOs until a friend talked me into CoH back in 2005. Before that, it was Neverwinter Nights II, Icewind Dale, Starcraft, Warcraft II, and stuff like that. I've tried SW:TOR and LOTRO, but it's frustrating not even being able to match Sprint speed or a hero's base jump height, much less never being able to Fly. And in the PC games, I loved the level-makers and customizing things, just like how in CoH I could make exactly the character I wanted, how I wanted.
Looking forward to Torchlight 2, or Warhammer 40k if it comes out. Prolly read more, too. Oh yeah, and Master of Orion, the first version. -
I'll be there if I know when it is! Prolly with Amasu, I guess he's my main.

Just discovered this thread! This was a bigger shock than finding out Nemesis was Mender Silos! (or whichever one he is, I'm so confused.)

Thank you for all the great times!

I think I'll remake my Elec/SS Tank as a Brute. The Tank went for maximized Psi resist + some recharge, and I'm debating whether to focus on Recharge for quicker Footstomp and Energize, or to go for the S/L Def softcap.
-
How much Fury does a Brute need to equal Scrapper damage?

I still like to have it.
Even if it's just for those corner-cases where I get sapped or killed & rezzed, it's a one-hit wonder instant soft-cap with endurance, speed, and recharge boost. -
And how about adjusting the white tights so the skin color doesn't bleed through?
-
Ah, and that also explains the HO slotting in Sheild's Active Defense - I'd occasionally seen this sort of thing around the boards, but since it doesn't show up in Mid's, I'd always wondered what the effect was.

Quote:Procs in toggles have a chance to fire every 10 seconds.I do have a question about the the proc going into Orbiting Death though. I was under the impression that procs which affect your enemies being in toggles would have a chance to affect you when they went off. Is that not the case? If not, wouldn't I get more mileage out of a damage proc?
So if you have a click-power that recharges in less than 10 seconds, it's better to put it there. But on the other hand, when you're standing on fifteen friggin' piles of Knives of Artemis Caltrops and none of your powers are recharging, Orbiting Death with its proc will still be ticking away.
(of course, Warshades can easily tp off Caltrops, but other slows/same effect, blah blah) -
My biggest problem with the power is it always sets my camera position so I'm looking straight into a wall or a tree and can't see what's going on anymore.

I thought it was a new Mastermind set with Goth pets. :./

Quote:You mean "as squishy as normal."I'm talking about the power that leaves you drained of all endurance and no recovery for 10 seconds or some such nonsense. All toggles drop so if you had any defensive powers your now defenseless and more squishy than usual.
Quote:The recharge time is as long as any Judgement and it doesn't do nearly as much damage as a Judgement.
I find myself dropping these powers out of my build. Why expose myself when I can do a judgement for more damage and I can still fight on with all toggles up. I can't stand being out of endurance with all of my toggles dropped.
It just seems that blasters and defenders got the short end of the stick here. These powers need to be revisited and made so they don't drain you anymore.
Nukes have already been revisited plenty of times. It's as easy as it ever has been to pop a Blue after nuking, and get back in the action.
I only have two toons with a nuke - a Fire/Fire Blaster who nukes, pops a blue, then Consume, and back in the action, and a Kin/Ice Defender who drops Ice Storm + Blizzard, then a blue and Transference and back in the action.
Neither have a Judgement, and probably never will since I don't have enough time to run that many Incarnate trials.
But I learned how to deal with the crash a long time ago - roughly right after I nuked and saw my endurance go away. -
Quote:If you don't want it and are happy without it, then don't take it. You don't have to take a power just because All The Cool Kids Are Doing It.The problem with it is that I already have a really good ranged hold with Blind. Having another one feels redundant to me considering that the build is already tight.
Personally, I don't have a Time controller, but my Ill/Trick Arrow has both Blind and Ice Arrow, but not Flash. I like being able to hold two individuals at the same time, or insta-stack magnitude on a Boss. -
Huh, and here I was imagining multiple uses for the Blackstar animation -- squat down, squeeze real hard, and release the pain!

I have the song on repeat all day long now.

Obliteration is the wrong set for Lightning Field. If you click into the Enhance tab, it provides loads of enhancement to damage and recharge, plus plenty of accuracy, but hardly any endurance discount. Swap that into Thunder Strike.
Move those three Eradications into Lightning Field, plus the Scirocco's Acc/Dam/End, and put the other two slots onto Power Sink and plop Recharges into 'em.
You'll never have endurance problems again. -

I'm just wondering if I can get a SR's defense high enough (without Elude) that the Rage crash won't get him killed.
