I sooo tried to like electric blast in this game. You figured with soo many people asking for changes to this power set, it would have gotten done. Another example of how the devs quickened the death of this game. Too bad.

Same. Will miss the game I first married, not the one a currently live with.

It that from the Hobbit?
Tha movie is so going to kick a$$. Heard they were filming it at super speed and especially for 3 D (which I usually hate but may see it this time). -
TLDR but will say bye and see you on Guild Wars 2

Quote:This. Is. Full. Of. Win.pretty sure you're just a guy with a mouse and keyboard killing pixels and time. Some perspective, please, so you don't come across as completely off the deep end. We're not heroes. We're a bunch of cool people who grew close to each other while playing a fun game. Heroes are guys who run into burning buildings to save a child. They're not guys who run into burning buildings to save a collection of pixels. Please stop demeaning the word.

Even on EBAY, this COH auctions are slowing down considerably (although it may be understandble given one "buy it now" listing was for $24.

Quote:I wish everyone would follow this advice.
Basically, shred my argument all you want. That's part of the point of having a discussion. Just keep behind the line of PERSONAL remarks, even indirectly made. . -
As long as the game is free-to-play you can count me in.

I will probably download this game the second COH's servers go black because of some of the good posts in this thread. Thanks for sharing.

Very clever.

Echoing what the president has said in the past about not letting a crisis go to waste, how can one make real money from the death of this game?
We have already seen on the forums people selling t-shirts with DC superheroes on them but with the words "Save City of Heroes" written on them, we have had people selling their commissioned artwork with your characters here, and numerous people are directing players to their websites where there are banner ads for other products there (thus the more traffic that site gets the more revenue they get). Lastly, there are people still selling the game on different auction sites.
One possibility is to sell your account password to people to give them an opportunity to play high end stuff before the plug is pulled.
Is this still against the user argreement? Is that still being enforced? How is that different than what other people are doing to make real money from this game? -
The closer it gets to the end, the more people are going o be hawking their sites.
-
Just think of this as practice for when the servers actually go dead. Kind of like a near-death-of-game experience

Quote:So you hope the devs in that game suffer the same fate as ours did? Are you sure you were playing the same superHERO game I was playing? KEEP HATE ALIVE!!!There are those who were never COH players who do not know what has happened to City of Heroes. They are completely clueless. I can't fault them for playing even if they do find out at a later date.
There are those who bought the game pre-order digital who can't get their money back, and even if they are COH players, I can't fault them either.
There are those who were gifted the game by others. I can't fault them either.
Those who were City of Heroes players, past and present, and who now know the score - who know what NCsoft has done - If they KNOW and are still okay with giving NCSoft money NOW? At this point and beyond?
Yes. I consider them to be backstabbers. And I don't want to know them, speak to them, or engage them in any way whatsoever. -
Wasn't it mentioned before that by NOT giving us everthing that is a good sign the game may be saved because there is hope the devs can still slowly release it as per their orignal plans?
But yeah . . . the game is doomed so just give it all already. -

Quote:I can see how that would undercut the integrity of the poll if people did vote mulitple times (like on American Idol). While I thank your dedication to help drive numbers, the SaveCoH Organization (are we that organized yet?) do respectfully request you only sign the petition once.
Check the Titan forums for other ways to support the campaign, and, most of all... most importantly...
Continue playing the game.
I will do what you request . . . and yes, I will definately continue playing the game. -

Quote:Interesting. Just imagined a switch was thrown and it would go offline. First time I heard it was harder to do this if thre were people logged on.
Dead servers are easier to shut down than active ones.

Quote:Ah, thanks for that information. That is actually a good marketing tool. BTW if I wanted to sign it more than once, would I have to change login names or anything like that? Thanks in advance. It's the way the change.org petitions work to drive numbers. There is no upward limit or "we must have this number"... when the number of signatures reaches a certain threashhold, the number "needed" adjusts to the next one. Current threshhold is 25,000. Not sure what the next one will be.
Regardless, the more we have the more we can show "this is the impact you have made not just here but in the gaming industry with your actions. It's a show of solidarity.
Read the comments, it's a show of community. -
Quote:Now, why would someone choose to title their thread in such a way as to imply that the forums will indeed be shut down before the 30th? This isn't really the best time to use sensationalism to get people to ready your thread.
Would have to disagree with your conclusion given the number of views received in such a short amount of time and the number of informative posts written. There is some good information being presented that a lot of people may be seeing for the first time. Sorry if you don't feel this information should be shared - and that is your perogative (sp?) - but I and others posters share different thoughts on the matter.
Please go play forum police elsewhere. -
Quote:When you go to the petition page is says 6,000 more are needed. Needed for what? Couldn't find the information on the site.
The petition at Change.org that is nearing 19,000 signatures (keep them coming!)
