Is the CoH Community Going to Take NCSoft's "No" for an Answer?

That is the multimillion dollar question.

I love it that NCSoft feels the need to have plants within the community to try and demoralize us. Love all the negative "Be Realistic" posts from the corporate shills.

To answer the OP question. I WILL NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. If there is a will there is a way. I WILL NOT LET NCSOFT KILL ANOTHER MMO!

Do you ever feel shame at yourself for being so negative and giving up so easily. Or does your only joy just come from kicking other people when theyr'e down. I've seen your snide comments for years and I just want to take this moment to say STFU!

Ah well, forget NC Soft. Publisher is dead to me now.

This.

You can take what they say however you want, but they're also a multibillion dollar faceless corporation, which frankly, isn't about to turn and say, "oh nevermind, we take back everything we said and did, you were right, oopsies"

Good Luck.

I wish *I* could get paid for simply voicing a pragmatic outlook...

It seems to me that a real "plant" would be less overt, though. I'd imagine that the best way to be effective would be to actually join the efforts to save CoH and passive-aggressively destabilize them from within.

I'm unconvinced that NCSoft went into those negotiations with good faith. Or that they made a good faith effort to look for other buyers. It seems to me that they're still:
(1) Laying off American workers who were
(2) Making them money
and
(3) Refusing to allow a profitable game to continue to serve and entertain its global audience.

Shame on you, NCSoft.

There, that should balance the equation.

Make the best out of the time you have left instead of clinging to an unrealistic future.
I don't understand this kind of thinking. Why would I waste my time playing something that is going to be gone in 60 days? When there was hope of it going on with another vendor I could play with the thinking that I might have to re-roll my characters after 11/30 but I'd still be able to play my game and eventually have my characters back. But why would I spend any time playing something which is going vapor on 12/1?

I mean you call those guys hippies but your attitude seems pretty hippie-like to me also.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Why wouldn't you? Most games that are purchased aren't played for more than 60 days. (Champions Online and Spore spring to mind for me.) The game isn't any less enjoyable for having a finite lifespan, and you can continue to play it for 2 whole months.

Personally, for me, half the fun was seeing what Paragon Studios came up with next. That's not going to be happening over the next two months.
