That's gonna be a rough day at work Saturday, but I'm gonna be there till the lights go out.
Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

They've also said they don't want to go completely crazy with stuff like level bumps, free purples, etc. They want to keep the database "sane", just in case. Cause you never know what could happen.

Obviously I don't know anything about their database though so, yeah...
That and I've never managed any databases of any type, so I expect someone to reply to me with "DUDE DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD DATABASES ARE TO MANAGE"
Having no developers to manage the database could be a problem though.

That and can you imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth there would be if the game was saved, but they had to roll back every character two months to the backup they made before going crazy?

Not everyone wants a level bump. It would need code to give players a choice I guess. It's a lot of work - and there isn't anyone around to do that kind of stuff.

You are correct as regards the use of daylight saving in the US but there is no such a time as 12:00 am or pm and using it is ambiguous.
How can 12:00 be post i.e. after or ante i.e. before Meridian i.e. Noon? It is AT Noon - except in this case its midnight that's meant. That is basic primary 3 school level education i.e. for 7/8 year olds.
There is 12:00 midnight Nov 30 to Dec 1, 12:00 Midnight Dec 1 to Dec 2 or 12:00 Noon Dec 1 any of those 3 could be mistaken for the time you gave
Better to use 24 hour clock for this i.e. 00:00 is Midnight at the start of the day.
12:00 is noon and 24:00 if it is used is clearly midnight at the end of the day.
The alternative which Hit Streak chose to use on the correction of 11:59:59 pm at least makes it clear as to which time this was meant to represent even if he got the time zone descriptor wrong.

My second choice would be to back up the database and then globally set everyone to lvl 50 on the last day. With most database schemas this would be a very simple script - restricting it to specific characters is generally more complex (not usually hugely so though) - The backup incidentally is so that should the game be saved that it could be restarted with a proper character database.

Thanks, Hit Streak, for keeping us informed, and for continuing to clarify for us, even when you've done it several times 
It's nice to know you're still here for us. We appreciate the special events that have been scheduled. I wish people would stop asking for more stuff. Of course, they're really asking it of NCSoft, who isn't the one who is here with us. You're left holding the bag, and people are just inundating you with requests. Let's all remember that the staff who are left, are stretched thin, and giving us everything they can. It's not their fault the game is closing. They're losing their jobs. We should just be grateful they are here, doing what they can. Let's not be too demanding of these people. Send your demands to NCSoft, but let's just thank Hit Streak for all that's being done. *standing ovation and an hour of applause*

You know....every event all at the same time. And the Nightmare Zombies need to be 200ft tall again, that was amazing.
I will miss the game and I've already logged in for the last time because it's sad to know that my first MMO will soon be gone. I don't regret spending money on the game or all the paragon points I bought. I just wish the game would have stayed around longer. I've only been playing since Going Rogue and it has indeed been a great ride. I love City and hope for the best for everyone at Paragon Studios. I love you guys, you're the best.
As I understand it, Double XP has been switched on for the past several weeks.
Does this mean we will get x4 XP when the Double XP Event occurs on Oct 18-22??

I have been burning patrol xp for the last few weeks, an indicator that DXP was not on. Now I am not burning it (it stays the same value except for when I die). Therefore, my conclusion is that it has not been on for several weeks, but is now.
