  1. As I understand it, Double XP has been switched on for the past several weeks.

Does this mean we will get x4 XP when the Double XP Event occurs on Oct 18-22??
  2. The event was shown to be scheduled from 5pm - 8pm Pacific Time. I logged onto Exalted at 7:30pm and the event was over an hour before. That's bogus. Some of us do have to work, so it would be appreciated if scheduled times are adhered to.

Since that is a signature move of Aquaman, I don't think NCSoft wants to infringe on a DC property. Best to leave Fish Summoning out of this.
  4. When I do go inside the University, its usually a good 80% chance of this issue I'm having happening. Sometimes it happens as soon as I enter the University. Sometimes as soon as I start to move towards an Invention table. Sometimes I can get to the Invention table and craft recipes and then crash. Other times I can get in and out without a problem.

I reduced Anti-aliasing from x16 to x2 and ran around inside the University and did not experience the issue...yet. I'll continue to see if that changes anything.

I usually have all my background programs on and never had this issue before.

I did get the temp monitoring program which allows to control the fan speed from Nvidia.

The side panel of my machine is always removed to allow more air flow and venting of heat. I recently air-dusted too.

It's possible that you're inducing some sort of spike in power usage that's exceeding the PSU's ability to supply, causing an insufficient power situation and leading to a crash.
I got that covered. Before I got my card, I upgraded to a Silencer 470 from PC Power & Cooling which is specifically for Dell machines. So I have 470W of power. I've had this for a few years now and never had this issue before until just recently.
  6. The problem I'm consistently having is when I enter the University in Steel Canyon to use the Invention tables, my screen goes black, the card fan spins faster and my system reboots, but the screen remains blacked out.

  7. I was in Atlas Park and zoned in from a DFB trial and was getting the buzzing sound again. On a whim, I opened up the Options menu and under the Audio Tab, I clicked off 3D sound and the buzzing sound immediately went away. I clicked 3D sound back on and the buzzing did not return. I'll see if this was just a fluke or if its a way to solve this situation.

If it continues and the switching off and on 3D sound doesn't fix it, I will look at the BIOs stuff you suggested Target One.

    Thanks.

The problem has occured prior and after updating to the latest Nvidia drivers.

The sound does not happen at any other time, only when I play CoH. It's also an intermittant problem. I can play for hours and it never happens. It seems to occur in zones such as First Ward, RWZ, Incarnate Trials.

  9. I have noticed that sometimes, when the game is loading a zone, such as when you go to the Hospital or exiting a mission, there is an annoying feedback buzzing sound emanating from my speakers. I can still hear game sounds and/or music playing, but it's all "buzzy" sounding. It usually persists until I enter a door mission. I have noticed this more while doing the story arcs in First Ward, but it has happened also in other zones.

Any clue how to solve this problem?

    Verifying Files

After the game updates with a new patch and is finished, a button appears that says "Play". When I click on it, instead I get a box that opens up that says "Verifying Files", and it takes like forever.

Is there a way of switching off Verifying files? If this is a normal part of the update process, then I think that instead of a "Play" button, something like "a Verify Files" should come up instead. "Play" is misleading if it goes to this lengthy Verify process.

  12. I never purchased the Wedding Pack or the Origins Pack, however the bridal costume pieces and Origins auras are showing up in the Tailor window as options I can choose to add to my toon.

Not every toon I go to the tailor with can access these auras or the bridal costume pieces however, so it seems random depending on what toon I am making a costume change on.

This bug occured prior to the upgrade to the NCSoft Launcher so I do not think it has anything to do with the Wisp Aura incentive piece.

Make sure you're sending to a @GlobalName, as CharacterNames do not accept attachments.
Hmmm. OK. I'll have to try it again.
  15. I noticed this last night while trying out a few arcs in MA. It didn't happen on every mission, but when I did finish a MA mission and exited, my toon would appear on the MA platform and not outside the MA platform. I was stuck behind the "wall" that surrounds the platform. The only way out would be to use either my SG teleporter vet power or use the Oro Portal to get out.

As I don't play MA often, I don't know if this a frequent problem or something new.

My question is: Is there a reason you cannot send Invention Salvage as an attachment in an email? I tried this the other day and it doesn't work.

    Bye Bye Bridging

I think they should fix the MA abuse before "fixing" bridging. I see nothing wrong with bridging personally. At least it forces the Noobs to *gasp* leave Atlas Park and actually go to another zone.

My suggestion for fixing the MA? Do not award XP, Influence or Prestige. Have it only reward tickets. Remove the AE building from Atlas Park and Galaxy City (idk I haven't been to Galaxy in a long time, is there an AE building there? LOL).

That just my opinion. I could be wrong.
  20. I noticed a sudden burst of Zombie activity last night Hero side around 9pm. I was in Dark Astoria doing a Defeat X mission for the Secuity Chief and the Zombie event started in DA, so i got to fight some of them in addiiton to Banished Pantheon zombies. The Event message showed Zombie activity in Talos, Boomtown, Eden. Followed shortly by Galaxy City and Atlas Park. All with a 15 minute window of time. Now thats an Apocalypse!

The downside of the 10 second timer of the doors this year is Griefing caused by inconsiderate persons who are 3+ levels higher than you who click on the same door and then run off while you are there and their Purple mobs almost kill you. I encountered one such person last night and exchanged a few heated words with him. I followed it up with a /petition for Harrassment and Conduct.

    Oh, one possible suggestion:

To get away from the stigma fo being rewarded for not playing, what about if time spent playing other characters counted more? I mean, if you log out and stop playing it takes 24 hrs to get a day job benefit, but every hour of that 24 that you are playing another of your characters advances that 24hr clock by 2hrs?

Not sure if thats clear, but the idea is that actually actively alting accrues bonuses faster than simply not playing the game at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm. I just thought of something. Is this some insidious plot by the Devs to provide a solution to lag on the servers? Reward people for not playing so that the load on the servers is less by encouraging people not to be online.
  22. [ QUOTE ]

but i still think 30 days per badge is ALOT of time logged off to earn something

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do you play while sleeping? Remember this 30 Days can be non-consecutive time offline. That means 720 hours offline time to earn the badge. Assuming 8 hours sleeping and 8 hours away from your PC while at work or school, that would mean 45 days on average to earn a badge.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    This SUCKS.

Folks, I'm on a limited income. I'm disabled, on social security, and I really shouldn't be paying for City of Heroes in the first place, let alone now being tempted to pay even more to NCSoft for these excellent graphic pieces of art...

This blatant money-grubbing is really insulting to me.

Uummm, nobody is forcing you to buy any of this stuff. NCSoft has a right to make money just like any other company, offering these add-ons for a small fee. Just like the Purchasable Repecs, Character Slots and Server Transfers.

If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Its that simple. Complaining about it and saying they are "money-grubbers" isn't NCSoft's fault or problem that your are on a fixed income. And no business would model their products and marketing solely because of your unique situation.
  24. Same here. Lost 4 open character slots. Also the Rename, Server Transfer and Buy more Slots buttons are gone too.
