Numbers will perhaps be larger, but likely the percentage will be about the same. They also know how many already subscribe to multiple of their games and are extremely unlikely to give up on their other games just because this one is being removed.

I don't want to be gloomy, I just want to be realistic on the expectation of any efforts. Aquisition efforts are likely if anyone in the company thinks it's worth their time to even sit down to discuss it. Chances for NCSoft to change their mind due to backlash are next to zero.
We can agree to disagree Stars, we have done it in the past. You should come back to the FL/HUB boards though.

What really got me is the support I have seen from those who do not play CoX. Also when people who do not play this game state they are done with NCSoft. That carries even more weight to me than those of us within the community.

We may not be done yet, but the one superpower I for certain-sure do NOT possess is patience. Hear me out.

Its not that I'm unwilling to wait, its the uncertainty of it all that has me upset. We have no idea who is saying what to whom. we have no idea how receptive the owners are. We know nothing. And its killing me.

I admit I don't want to hear "dead forever, forget it, we're keeping it and wiping the servers and then destroying them to boot." But anything else.... and I know, everyone feels the same way - we ALL wanna know.

I could even take "yes we're killing this version, but CoX2 is in the works, see ya in 5 years." This total vacuum of information is the hardest thing of all for me to bear.

Yet no news is good news. Beats no. But..... *sigh* I have had 3.5 hours of sleep over the past 48 hours over all this mess. I literally cannot sleep. Ok enough whining, sorry everyone.

I doubt I'm telling you anything you haven't already told yourself, but...these sorts of talks have to happen in silence and secrecy by their very nature. We can't really know what's being said. And I understand completely that fact is very frustrating.

For now, though, we have to act as though two contradictory things are true: (a) NCsoft is receptive to the devs' message, and (b) the talks aren't going to end in a way that we'd like. The second part means that we can't afford to rest--not yet. The first part means that any action we take has to be noble, civil, and respectable.

I hope you can sleep soon. Things will look much better after you do, I think. Even if they don't, the fight will be here, waiting for you to join in, when you wake up. We could use all of you right now, but we also need you at 100%--so take care of yourselves, too.

I apologize if any of that sounds too preachy.

We'll get through this.

One of the biggest disagreements I have been seeing is over the value of hope. Some people seem to think hope is a useless emotion, that only causes more grief in the end. On the other hand, some people seem to think hope is all you need to avert the impending asteroid impact.

Hope is a powerful force, but it is wasted on truly inevitable acts. The hard part is deciding what is inevitable.

To me, Hope is the bridle on a horse that is running at a full gallop. You can use the bridle to steer the horse to a Valley of Riches and away from the Desert of Despair. But throwing down the reins and letting the horse go where it will... well, did I mention that the Cliffs of Insanity are straight ahead?

This odd TwitchTV with host HitStreak was broadcast on Wednesday the 26th. Not much in the way of happy news, and he's no Zwill, but he came on for an hour to deliver what news he could. There's a lot of silence because they don't want to get anyone's hopes up unless something happens.

There's also a lot of silence because he's talking to messages posted live in chat and the chat doesn't get added to the video. So we see lots of silent reading and have to guess at the questions. I was so glad to see Hit Streak talking, and I thank him for coming on line for us.

It hurt when he started, I felt so sad. But he got more comfortable with it, and it flowed better by the end.
