Something NCSoft could do for us ...
Don't see it happening. Tabula Rasa still had staff up till the servers went down, albeit limited. There is no staff at Paragon anymore.
The only reason we've had anything in the past few days is because the Dev's and community people have logged in and did things for us at their own expense.
pohsyb: so of all people you must be most excited about the veats
Arachnos Commander: actually, I am
pohsyb: I mean you kinda were one already anyways ^_^

On the other hand, there might still be staff involvement even with the disbanding of Paragon Studios. People were saying that it started snowing on all servers an hour or two after the vigil.
That is really sad if true. Tabula Rasa was still updating the game till the end.
The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.
Actually, I think that there's still some sort of community rep presence here, but it's hard to know how much of it is official, and how much of it is just them being awesome even after being laid off.

Open up the servers so that everyone who's ever been subbed can log into the full, premium game for the last couple of weeks of the game's existence.
Overload the servers, run those last TFs, say your goodbyes, *****, moan, laugh, cry, wonder why Force Bubble still sucks after those all years, &c.. IIRC, they did something similar with Tabula Rasa. Apologies if this was suggested elsewhere -- there's been a lot to wade through. |
As negative as it is, NCsoft isn't interested in doing anything for us. Period. They yanked the game straight out from under the fanbase. We got ninety days sure, but no dev team to do anything during that time. The kneel has sounded, now its just bleeding out. And if the test realm is any indication, the servers may not even be up for that full ninety days.

Refunds? Let's hope so. 'Credit' for other NCsoft titles? I can imagine how sour that would taste... if it's even legal.
In a realignment of company focus and publishing support, NCsoft has made the decision to close Paragon Studios. Effective immediately, all development on City of Heroes will cease and we will begin preparations to sunset the world’s first, and best, Super Hero MMORPG before the end of the year. As part of this, all recurring subscription billing and Paragon Market purchasing will be discontinued effective immediately. We will have more information regarding a detailed timeline for the cessation of services and what you can expect in game in the coming weeks. |
They did make it so people that arent VIP can send PMs, which I greatly appreciate.
Thought for the day:
"Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment."
