I wonder if that's one of those lessons you can only learn through firsthand experience, the hard way.

Still hate the visit Winscott mission- make it dropable, have it give actual exp or remove it altogether. PS- Down knows who you are.

The cutscenes look so intense. it's so disappointing that we likely won't see them as they are intended to be, unless we are lucky and another studio takes over production. The capabilities of the LUA engine sound so awesome as well!

Cool.

Could it have given us a new base system?

*sigh*

Not immediately because the base system was written in COBOL by two chimpanzees and an IT grad student, but eventually if the resources became available to redo the base system from scratch, it could have made incredibly interesting base functionality.

The notion that they could have one day opened a limited subset of the scripting to us for the AE - and possibly bases one day - is another one of those what-if things that will haunt me.

NCSoft store can't tell you everything you already bought so they moved to the Paragon Store that can't tell you what you already bought but added the new feature that it can't always tell you what you can't buy either.

It seems one area Paragon Studios had issues with was contract programming. Since apparently one of the type-R programmers they contracted to update the physics engine had a questionable understanding of gravity. My guess is that Paragon couldn't ask him to fix it because he tried to fly off his roof one day.

The irony is that if Paragon Studios contracted someone to write their accounting software, the game would probably still be live. Because I don't think NCSoft would terminate a title that was earning them sixty-eight trillion dollars a month.

Arcanaville, you now have me wavering as to whether I should refer to you as the Doyenne of Digits or the Snark Knight. (Which, btw, is taken on Justice by moi.)

I kind of like that.

Oh gawd if we could have made Arena maps that would have been incredibly epic.

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

Ever since the game went FREEDOM last year, I have been facing difficulty in posting in the COH forums. Strangely I am never able to log on to the forums from my home, my PC or my mom's either. Though I could login to the forums and post on my work PC.

I hate to do non-work related stuff on my work PC but this is probably my only chance to say it now before the game finally closes up.

A lot of people have already said it before and said it better than me. COH has become one of my favorite games which I play every night and it is really depressing to find out that it will be gone. Just like that.

I guess what I'm saying is I'm taking this time to thank and appreciate the hardwork that the devs have put in. There is an incredible amount of lore & story in the game that is so much better compared to a whole lot of MMOs out there.
There is also the wonderful community in Virtue, full of helpful and like-minded people for roleplaying storylines/heroes etc..

Gosh, its so hard not to become emotional and its even more hearbreaking to find out that there are so many cool stuff that is coming to us in I24 which will now never come to pass.

It is almost like saying goodbye to a relationship, except that it isn't with a person but with a game/community. There is so much more I have to say but I will stop here or I end up crying and attracting unwanted attention from my colleagues.

Farewell COH and thanks for all the fun that you have provided us.

So, I've been updating the portfolio for my work and I wanted to share some videos with you all.

The first one is a video montage I had made for the studio to present the new Issue 24 cutscenes. This is SPOILER HEAVY, if you dare to watch it. The video also shows off new cutscene technology implemented by Black Scorpion, which is Depth of Field.

The second link shows off LUA scripting. This was implemented by our brilliant programming team for Issue 24. The video only shows off a small portion of what we did with it; for example, Arbiter Hawk implemented the new Paladin event in Kings Row entirely through LUA. This scripting language is incredibly powerful and, the best for us, very easy to iterate upon.

I will miss you City of Heroes..
