What's your favorite TF?

My favorite is a tie between Lady Grey and Kahn. Lady Grey is just a plain fun Rikti slaughterfest. The only thing I don't really care for is the Hamidon fight. Kahn has the Reichsman fight, which I actually love. You can't convince me that there is something wrong with beating up a near-limitless army of Nazis.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

ITF hands down. Between the gobs of xp and the Roman armor, I make an effort to run it on every character I make. I consider the armor pieces as a "trophy" for my efforts.

Honorable mentions:
Moonfire (Just because I get to fight an army of vampires and werewolves)

Renault (An awesome story starring my favorite villains. Plus, that badge is pure win)

I love the new Posi 1 and 2. They flow nice. I think my average is less than 40 minutes per section. Well written, fast, challenging. It is a good test for a new character right out of the DFB salmon runs.

However, if you have people that do not listen and have no idea what they are doing it is just a horrid thing. So many places for people to do (stupid! stupid! stupid!) incorrect things that can cause team wipes.

I quit a Posi 1 this weekend, one of the only TFs I have dropped in months. I am tanking and the 1st mission is set to +2. Everybody but me is in and I hear in Teamchat "I hope you can tank this..." I get in and charge, of course. I am on an Elec/Dark and already I/O'd, so it was no sweat. The team kept tight, cause if they didnt they died. The guy dials it down (by my request) for the rest of the TF. The next missions no one is following the tank, or even responding to me in chat. I am not saying much "Somebody want to get the glowie?" 3 minutes later I get the glowie myself. Then somebody is like "Don't do that yet" We get into assault on Oranbega in Atlas and no one follows the tank. I wait for everybody to get on map, and head out to tank the first group. everybody on the team headed out a different door. Everyone split from the tank, the entire team. I had to quit. I saw the last mission, the ambush at the door, the fight shadowselves, this team. Yeah, not me brother. This is why I Brute a lot.

My knowledge of Villain-side Task Forces is laughably thin, I've done (to my remembrance) one of the Respecs and the one with the big winking monster eye in a cave.

Hero-side, other than the Shard Task Forces, I've played them all. Most of the "new" Task Forces (Katie Hannon and after) are really great, excepting the Dr. Kahn TF which is fun up until the fight with Reichsman. That last fight is such a tedious slog and after three times I promised myself "Never again". After finally completing it for the first time, it was like passing a kidney stone. The relief from the pain is incredible but you never want to have to go through that again. Would it be better with Incarnate powers? Probably, but likely I'll never be able to say.

I really enjoy the first two missions of the Admiral Sutter Task Force. The floatilla and Talos/sewers missions are great fun. The last mission can be frustrating at times but with some good players it's highly entertaining.

The new Positron parts 1 and 2 are great, and the Penelope Yin TF is like a perfect date - fun and fast but easy to forget.

The Imperius Task Force is always a blast and, along with Apex and Tin Mage Task Forces, are probably my favorites in the game.

Hopefully we'll continue to see Task Forces like these added to the game in the future!

Big shoutout to my man Ernesto Hess. Ran that with a friend almost every day for a few weeks a couple years ago, I think we got it down to ~17 minutes just with us taking the objectives and six randomly selected lovely assistants along for the ride. I bet a team of eight speeders could probably do it in about twelve minutes. My horrible internet back then didn't help either!

Similarly, Kal is pleasing to blast through in under 20. Really any TF where a determined squad can take care of it in under a third of the expected completion time is a good one. As Arky said, though, some of the longer ones like Manti are also fun since one old hand can easily dazzle a pick up team with well-deployed shortcuts.

Favorite TF - Faathim the Kind's TF

The one where you eventually fight Lanaruu. The reason is pretty much that last fight. The rest of the tf is long and the mechanic on some of the objectives are unwieldy, but that last fight. I still remember the first time I did it years ago. It was with a supergroup that no longer exists and we where taking our time and enjoying stuff. I had never been to the shadow shard before but I take flight as my travel power so I didnt have to mess with the geysers.

The floating rocks and very alien(non-humanoid) enemies gave all the zones a whole different feel from the rest of the game. The team lead started up the missions as soon as we were all in zone so I didnt get a chance to visit the chantry at first. We progressed through misisons all the way to the last mission. The team lead knew I had never been to the Storm Palace so he suggested that I fly to the mission rather than wait to be teleported.

So I took off toward the mission waypoint. As I got closer I noticed this spherical object becoming clearer in the distance. I'm a born and raised Star Wars geek(my mom had me watching the movies when I was 2 years old) so my first thought as I got even closer was, "That's no moon... It's a space station!" As I got even closer I could see it was a giant sphere with gothic looking spikes around the top and bottom with fire pits around its center corridor that was surrounded by energy storms. That first fly-by has been and will always be my coolest experience in the game.

Then the fight with Lanaruu. Imagine my surprise when I saw what we were fighting. All the other AVs I'd fought in TFs while they were unique where not quite like the scale of Lanaruu. Then he started summoning storm elementals. When it was all over his death animation was something I'd never seen before either which just added to the coolness of the whole fight. After we all went to the Chantry and took a screenshot as a group next to Faathim. I got to see him for the first time and the whole group got a laugh out of me saying, "There are more of them! I want to beat them up." I was very disappointed to find out that you can only fight one other one, Ruladak, and that the big guy Rularuu was not even in the game. Just mentioned in flavor text and mission clues and stuff.

The TF was epic and made me feel as a player character like more than just a hero in a city taking down bad guys. It made me feel as though I was reaching a level beyond the normal powers of other heroes. It probably helped that I hit 50 on my first character in that TF. I started it at 49 1/2.

Nowadays with Incarnate powers where we truly have transcended the limitations of the old level grind I occasionally go back the Shadow Shard and visit the various zones and feel a pang of regret that these zones are not involved with the Incarnate Storyline.

Work in progress no more. I have decided that I'm going to put my worst spelling errors here. Triage Bacon, Had this baster idea, TLR

LRSF/STF.

Can be blitzed in 25-40 minutes, give an SHO and are fun to play as well.

Also this. Can be done in 20 minutes or so, not bad at all.

ITF is one of my favorites, and probably the one I run the most frequently.

I love Hess, which isn't run as frequently.

The LGTF is fun, but I don't like running it too often.

I really enjoy Apex/Tin Mage, excluding the final fight from Apex.

The revamped Yin is a lot of fun.

Admiral Sutter's TF is fun.

And Kahn is also one of my favorites.

Looks like my tops are in the minority but a few have been mentioned:

If I had to give just one:
Lord Recluse, because the finale is not a gang of us vs one guy. It's one of the few where you can feel actually badass after fighting instead of feeling like a lieutenant or a minion who only curbstomped that AV because you ganged up on him.

Honorable mention to the Abandoned Sewer Trial. I love the coordination needed and the temp powers. Plus, again, you gotta split up and do multiple tasks, so you don't feel lame for having to gang up on one guy to win.

Other good ones:
Eden Trial (frikin' gorgeous and I love getting the aggro from the whole of the last room)
Faathim the Kind (love the shard and this one is the best, plus the end fight is cool)
Silver Mantis (again, spectacular climactic battle, plus the whole TF is just screwing over the raiders just to be a jerk, which is really fun)
Posi Part 1 (love the doppleganger fight, don't like part 2)
Mender Silos (love the jade spider)
Mender Lazarus (love the big nazi bash)
Mako (again mondo awesome nazi bash)

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Favorite Map: Eden Trial
The sheer scale and massiveness of the map makes it an impressive romp, especially on the occasions when the team is willing to kick back and take it all in rather than just speed run it in under 10 minutes. I'm thankful that the first one I ran was treated as a defeat all so I got to actually enjoy it.
Thank you for reminding me, how dare I forget! Love eden trial.
