Hickman's version of the Phalanx is the one I keep in mind when I write them. The little details he imbued them with in his story made them more real, more human, and much more fun to write. (Which is why he got a credit in the Acknowledgements section of THE COURSE OF SUPERHERO ROMANCE.)

Troy Hickman's scripting ability is simply amazing. I echo the above sentiments and add that the man is underpaid, underappreciated and underutilized. Well, the Community Center is some needed remedy for the second one, but the other two need correcting as well.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

I should mention that I also wrote a guest author arc for AE that was something of a sequel, featuring the little boy from the comic, but I don't think those guest author pieces are playable anymore, are they?

They disappeared, yeah. Which is a shame, and also shows just how much the devs like AE.

Wow, that makes me sad. I hope they keep that stuff somewhere and it's just a matter of flipping a switch; I put a fair amount of work into that adventure.

After they started making changes to enemy groups, among other things*, many arcs became unplayable. Asking all the authors to come back and spend time on fixing silly stuff was probably too embarrassing.

*There was some other change that was made and all those arcs disappeared at the same time, but I can't recall what it was right now. :P

A few broke when the new profanity/copyright filter was added. Note: This filter would block publishing an arc with some common words (with the assumption that they were names of Marvel/DC characters) and also blocked some of CoH's own canon character names. They probably removed them outright since unlike a glitchy enemy or two, this might have forced some rewrites. It's disappointing that they didn't at least tell the authors that they had been removed but then again we tend to never get a straight answer when we ask about it and it seems the AE community is never in attendance during the various Meet & Greets.

Troy, I have to imagine that if you asked nicely that someone at the studio would mail you the original files and that you could recreate it under your personal account.

Seconded.

Though, Oz, remember: contrary to popular belief, tradition does not dictate that TroyHickman-related arcs be run pantsless and intoxicated.

One of the two is sufficient.

Man, that just sent me down memory lane. I really miss doing the comic guides. I've even tried to start doing them again before every issue since Going Rogue, but never have the time.

I tried to slip a reference to Troy Hickman in them whenever possible. I'm a huge fan of Common Grounds and (later on) Twilight Guardian and I can honestly say that I never would have tried my hand at writing if it wasn't for Troy. I'm not a writer- in my life I've dealt with software, servers, troubled teens and explosives-- all things that tend to blow up in various ways. I figured any writing endeavor would follow that trend and bomb.

When I met Troy on the boards and realized he was THAT Troy Hickman everything changed. I mean... I realized that if THAT pantsless schlub could write, then *I* certainly could.....

I'm envisioning a sitcom that includes these four things. Much hilarity will ensue.

Hopefully so. Pretty sure there would be plenty in the AE community willing to help with any small fixes if something off was noticed.

I'm an Australian, mate. I run all important arcs pantsless and intoxicated. This is also how Australians dominate at sports like cricket, rugby union, dwarf tossing and surfing.

You forgot crocodile drinking and beer punching.

Or something.

No, you got the order right there...those two things we do for fun.
