The best content in the game
For best trial, I'd honestly have to pick the Underground just because I -love- the dungeon crawl feel to it and how it progresses from the sharp clean lines of the praetorian underground into the warped geiger-esque Devouring Earth corrupted tunnels culminating in the only non-Loyalist AV fight in the trials to date.
Crotoa is pretty good too -except- that gods awful mission for defending the gate, -hated- that mission with a passion, and the less obnoxious but still very tedious defending the cairn finale.

I have a special hatred for it because it was one of the first time teaming with a good friend who is very shy and lacking in self confidence. After failing that mission he blamed himself and took off for the night, kind of spoiled the otherwise good mood. So yeah, I will never ever ever ever do that mission again.
Croatoa can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned, for no other reason than Red Caps.
There is nothing more humiliating than being a super powered pillar of awesome only to have your backside repeatedly handed to you on a silver platter by a bunch of garden ornaments. |
The best content in the game? Character creation... it all goes downhill from there.
Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be

I loved the Resistance Warden arc.
I also loved Jenni Adair's arc - when Tava realized her other self was sacrificing herself, I was actually shouting, "NONONONONO!" and racing as fast as I could to try and save her.

lol but I love it when a boss tosses a little Red Cap on your shoulders and it sits and beats on your head.. Gotta be one of the most unique attacks in the game xD
I enjoy Croatoa, though I always feel like the resolution is really abrupt. I saved it? Didn't feel like it.
For me, I still feel like Faultline hasn't been surpassed. Yeah, Fusionette is annoying, though she's not so bad if you solo. But it's got a lot of really great things going for it:
-it's one of the first blueside story arcs where you really feel like you're stopping a significant threat. It's not huge in scale, but you feel like it's really important that you succeed (the only other ones I think of are the Vahz arcs that nobody seems to run anymore).
-Contacts that you actually care about. Think about it, how many blueside arcs are there where the contact is more than just a conduit of information? The newest ones do that (Laura Lockhart, Graham Easton, and Twinshot, especially), and redside is full of them, but they're rare blueside. But I found myself really caring about Jim Temblor, Penelope Yin and Doc Delilah.
-Captain Castillo's inept wooing of Doc Delilah. The clue when you search his desk, especially.
I even love the anticlimax of the final mission. I remember laughing out loud when I ran it for the first time and realized what was going on in it.
hm that sounds interesting what contact does that Jenni Adair Arc belongs to?

For my favorite content, I'm a big fan of the praetoria arcs (not FW and NW, the story lines when you begin in prae). I've done all 4 so many times, and I think they're just awesome. The story is good, most are fun to play (I love the Syndicate, so yay responsibility arc!). My Praetorian toons also feel a bit special when they leave Praetoria
The order would be something like
- Power (loyalist)
- Warden (resistance)
- Responsibilty (loyalist)
- Crusader (resistance)
There's more, but that's all I can think off now ^^
[Edit]: Signature Story arcs 2.1 and 2.2 are also on my list of fun content, The first SSA was pretty good (got better in the end I think, personally), but Pandora's Box is just wow to me. Let's hope they keep that awesomeness up!
Jenni Adair is a contact herself (20 - 29 range), introduced by Keith Nance. They have the "clone arcs", the villain version is Dean McArthur and Leonard.

Probably because the final 'save the day' moment in Croatoa's story happens in the Katie Hannon TF. Like how Striga's storyline is finished in the Hess TF.

I see needing to run a task force (which you don't really see unless you're the leader) to resolve a story line as a serious flaw in story design. But even without finding out who was really behind that final ritual, we're still told that we've managed to stop Salamanca from being sucked into the spirit world. That should be a really big deal, but it feels like an afterthought.
I contrast that with the RWZ, where the LGTF is the resolution of the whole storyline. But you can just run the arcs and still feel a sense of major accomplishment. There are some plot threads dangling, but it doesn't feel incomplete without the TF.
There's a storyline in Striga? It's kinda-sorta there if you squint, but there's no real sense that the arcs and missions build on each other. Even the Hollows (which also has the need to run a trial to get resolution) has a more visible story.

For me, I always enjoy the Rikti Return content. From the Welcome to Vanguard arc to Lady Grey. I love how the Rikti invasion events are done, and I turn my music back on during the weekends and LGTF WST weeks just for the sound the War Walls make when they go down, and the air raid sirens start up.
Gives me chills, every time!
It's really hard to pick, since there has been so much good content with release.
Lower level stuff, I find that Praetoria has interesting writing that gets deeper as you play through more story arcs. The funnest Task Forces are the Apex and Tin Mage, which are just so intense that it feels like an actual war. The funnest trial is Minds of Mayhem (which a LOT of people will disagree with me upon) since it is made up completely of boss fights that are hard and require tactics and planning. The best story arcs in entertainment value are the first and second parts of the patron arcs.
