Recipe Junk Folder
not a bad idea. usually I have to delete them anyways. Some sit on the market even with starting bid 1 inf for weeks before I get tired of looking at them and delete them. When that spot is open another takes it's place. Sometimes I wish they add an auto delete/reject option for some of them, especially them common temp powers.

Meh to me it's just an option that would needlessly clutter the system. It is not that hard to delete YOUR unwanted recipe. I make millions off of what you have stated are "useless" recipes so they are not useless to everyone
Gonna /unsign as I do not think it is needed as the ability to delete them already exists and a new "junk" folder isn't really needed.

Hmm, well, rather than a specific 'junk folder', why not just have a tab or two that are customizable like the chat tabs? Just have one folder for 'All', one folder for 'Temp Powers/Costumes' and one folder for 'Purples'.
If you're savvy, maybe you'd customize one folder to include basic IOs/temps/costumes/hold/fear/immobilize/stun recipes, another for all and another for rares/purples. Technically, the folders are just filters on your inventory window, we could just proliferate the dropdown menu from the crafting window with options like "Hide Basic IOs", "Hide Crafted IOs", "Hide Temps/Costumes".

Eh, it's not that big a deal to unload on the market. And I really don't see the devs giving us a virtual storage increase.

lot of things start off as abstract ideas. hell even the number of ehancement storage was said never was goign to happen. now you can buy up to 50 slots. Fro man idea that been floating around since i6 at least and plenty times said "wah bad idea, never going to happen, what for, it's uneeded, too much work. etc."

The closest the devs ever came to saying anything about increasing the number of enhancement trays was when they told us we were lucky they decided to allow us to pull 10 enhancements off of a build during a respec when it was first designed.
easy enough to delete the garbage as I go.
what I would like is a 'recycling bin' at various locations throughout the game where people could drop off their unwanted recipes and other players could root through looking for usable stuff....but that isn't very practical either.

Just add an NPC store at the AH/BM for convenience.
Please don't confuse what players misinterpret being said with what the devs actually said. The number of things the devs have actually said would never happen is very small.

Well, as long as you're asking for them to program new systems into the game, why not just ask for an "auto sell" feature that would cause selected drops to instantly sell themselves at NPC store prices?
I don't really see any pressing need for this sort of system because it's not that big a deal to sell things or delete them between missions. I would say it is highly unlikely that anything of this sort will be implemented since it competes with something that's already for sale:
Recipe Inventory Increase, +5 slots for 800 points
On the other hand wish there was more easier way to trade items/email. to players who can use my junk instead of the one by one thing/ Like would like to be able to send say I have this recipe going in the trash but some poor sap is looking for those recipes. I would like to be able to bundle them up into one email and send it over.

oh I know I'm talking about responses on the post. People come up with ideas, and usually within the first couple of posts, there is one, that comes and say "the devs will never do this or that." "or this or that will never happen" and lo and behold it happens and same people act like they was behind the idea the whole time. Unless the dev specifically come out and says "We aint never ever going to do that, ever." then never say never and even then for those small cases, its not 100% certain.

A light bulb just went off not sure why I didnt think of that. Now that would seem easy to do, wont take much work and will be relatively out the way. and save the hassle of reclaiming everything that didnt sell back in the slots, assuming they are still there and not filled with useful stuff to just run across town to the nearest npc store.

Yeah I don't think any player would object to the email attachments being improved.
Cool. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page cuz more than once we've had someone point to a dev stating one thing and trying to claim it means they siad it would "never" happen. I think Power/Weapon customization is the most frequently misquoted feature.

I thought that's what the Auction House/Black Market and NPC stores are for. Nothing stopping anyone from selling what they think of as "garbage" for 1 inf on the market and if there's no interest there sell it to an NPC store.
Just add an NPC store at the AH/BM for convenience. |
this would be another mini-system for people to engage- adding 'fun' would make it worthwhile to use. I'm sure some of us marketeers would 'seed' the junkpile with 'good' recipes too- it'd be like an IO treasure hunt.

I'm not going to tie up a valuable market slot for a garbage recipe- neither am I going to bother vendoring something for a few hundred or thousand inf- my game time is too valuable for that.

You don't put garbage on the market unless you know there's a demand for it. I can understand putting some trash salvage up for 50 (I usually only put stuff up for 50 or more) if only because people need salvage and if no one puts that stuff up, eventually it starts costing 10000 inf when I need it which only goes up and up and up until I'm paying 600,000 for 1 trash computer virus salvage that I know I can get for cheap with AE tickets but don't feel like jumping all the way over there so end up plotting over 5mil on trash because people didn't empty out their salvage bins enough.
That said, I still like the idea of adding filters to our inventory. Right now, I'd like a means of hiding all the salvage 'I can use' (meaning the stuff that can be used to craft the IOs I'm currently holding...the market already tells you when you're trying to sell something you can use) then toss the rest on the market. In the field, I'd filter all the invention and basics and just delete all the temps or costumes. Filter out the invention IOs and delete the low lvl basic ones you don't want.
Sure, you can sell them to an NPC instead, but I don't often like to visit NPCs in the middle of missions or when I'm on a taskforce. Hell, I'm usually deleting stuff while I'm pressing attack buttons. Some people don't like long animating attacks but I feel they have their uses...

One thing that I spend a lot of time doing is going through
recipe drops and deleting out the unwanted/undesirable recipes. Lets face it, 90% of the recipe drops in the game you cant give away, and the generic IOs are useless at 50 once you slot out your toon with sets. ( or memorize them ) I could really vent about the temp power drops - but that's another thread.
My suggestion is to add links to the right click menu for recipes:
- "This is Junk"
- "This is not Junk" ( for when you change your mind )
These options will be saved to your local settings file.
Once an item is marked as junk, it will automatically be routed to a new Junk Folder under recipes. A new button will need to be added "Clear Junk Folder",
which automatically deletes all recipes in that folder upon confirmation.
