Or Macho Man Randy Savage, for that matter. (Mostly since, y'know, he's dead.)

Come to think of it, Randy Savage as Lobo would have been awesome. Terrible, but awesome (much like David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury).

Anyway, am I the only one who thinks the Rock might be able to play a good Lobo?
Rock is known for beating people up
Lobo is known for beating people up

Rock is known for talking trash
Lobo is known for talking trash

Rock is known to be a big guy
Lobo is known to be a big guy

I don't see the problem, seems like the character of Lobo and Rock are the same. Why wouldn't he be able to play someone like that when there are so many similarities?!?!

However, it turned out that Smith was not a time-travelling Terminator

I think that Rock could be a great, completely over-the-top, Lobo. We would need to see him in makeup and hear him say "Bastich", "Frag" and "Main Man" to make sure he has the chops.

Somehow, when I think of Lobo, I think of the big bad from MIB 3.

Apparently, I play "City of Shakespeare"

During and online twitter chat today he calls Rock Talk, Johnson said he does indeed have Lobo on his radar.

@TheRock I'm dying to know. Are the Lobo rumors true? I've seen them all around, but nothing to confirm it. #RockTalk

. @WritingAWonder Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.. #RockTalk

Like The Rock said in the above tweet Joel Silver and Brad Peyton are currently working on the film with no release date. This is not confirmation that he has be cast in the part just that he is a strong possibility. Leave your thoughts in the comment boxes below if you think The Rock will be a good Lobo.
FINALLY the ROCK has come back to the BIG SCREEN!

I would go see that. The only way it would really work though would be to go completely over the top, as the Lobo character was originally intended. Extreme violence, blowing stuff up all over the place, cheesy lines, just ham it up, all of which play to the Rock's strengths. Bring Simon Bisley in as a visual consultant, and just go wild, have fun with it. Make it R-rated, hell make it as R-rated as you can get away with. When something is awesome, people will go see it.

I've always liked the Rock. Ever since The Scorpion King. Watching the behind the scenes docu just made him out to be such a likable guy, I can't help but enjoy his movies :-).

My first thought was of tanks, actually.

And near double - genocide, but it was mainly the tanks.

Of course, I wouldn't be shocked to see them tone it down a great deal. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they made him an earth-bound human bounty hunter. But I remain hopeful that they'll do something hilariously visceral in space, with space-rednecks, space-bikers, space-dolphins, and perhaps even space-Australia.
Hey, hey. That's enough of the "space" joke. Don't make me put you down like Old Space-Yeller.

Adding "Space" to the beginning of anything makes it 40% funnier. True space-fact.
