Rumors have been circulating for awhile that The Rock is up for a DC movie. Most people really want him to play Black Adam if DC can ever get a SHAZAM movie going. Although he has said numerous times that he would love to do play SHAZAM's main nemesis, more recent rumors say he is in the running to play Lobo. During and online twitter chat today he calls Rock Talk, Johnson said he does indeed have Lobo on his radar.

@TheRock I'm dying to know. Are the Lobo rumors true? I've seen them all around, but nothing to confirm it. #RockTalk

. @WritingAWonder Rumors of me possibly playing LOBO are true. Joel Silver and Brad Peyton working on it now. That could be fun.. #RockTalk

Like The Rock said in the above tweet Joel Silver and Brad Peyton are currently working on the film with no release date. This is not confirmation that he has be cast in the part just that he is a strong possibility. Leave your thoughts in the comment boxes below if you think The Rock will be a good Lobo.

Theoretically, yes it could be. Although I don't know how it could be kid-friendly and not suck.

Who said it would be kid-friendly?

yay
Pretty much (though I wouldn't really say Lobo has cosmic power). That's the direction his comics tend(ed) to go in.

Of course, I wouldn't be shocked to see them tone it down a great deal. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they made him an earth-bound human bounty hunter. But I remain hopeful that they'll do something hilariously visceral in space, with space-rednecks, space-bikers, space-dolphins, and perhaps even space-Australia.

C'mon. A jerk?

The whole point of the comic was supposed to be the off-kilter, absurdist dark humor.

If you ever read Howard the Duck, you weren't reading it because you were a Disney fan.

Basically, it's taking a bunch of conventions, tossing them on their ear (in a pit full of poison-coated punji sticks), then beating them in further with a dead department store Santa Claus.

Then heading off to do the same to those conventions moms while shagging their sisters.

Basically, doing all the stuff you WISH you could get away with when you're cosmically ticked off, plus witty banter.

If they keep this out of PG-land, it could be an absolute SCREAM!

Someone already did a home version of the Christmas special (look around the web for it). Maybe the Lobo Convention Special could work. The "There is a God!" denoument would be friggin' hilarious.

This is Lobo we're talking about.
His personality is about as shallow as an evaporated puddle.
Even a pro wrestler couldn't get him "wrong".

The only way I would ever see a Lobo moive if it was rated R. No way DC is going to do that lose alot of the moive going public ie teenagers.

..and having him going to hell and fighting Entineran (I know i'm spelling that wrong I'm too lazy to look it up AKA The Demon)

"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.

I have yet to meet a teenager that hasn't seen every R rated movie they wanted in a theater. Parents can be strange sometimes.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

it just depends, like oh so many movies on the script. The perfect actors can't save a horrible script.

No, he would seem fine for it to me. I've enjoyed a number of his movies. He's really not a bad actor. As others have said, Lobo is not really a part demanding a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Too many alts to list.

This! I would prefer him in Shazam, but give him a "Crow-Style" makeover, dreads and a foul mouth and it's a wrap.

The Rock as Black Adam
