Interesting interview with the creators of the "Legend of Korra". I haven't seen all the current episodes yet (working 2 jobs can do that to you) but I'm looking forward to seeing the season finale.

I am glad that I was right about General Iroh being Zuko's Grandson. Although, I would despise the season finale if it ends with Amon doing his bending removal technique on Korra and a second later the credits appear. Hopefully, if they do that, it will be the end of the second last episode.

I'm pretty well convinced that Korra's Avatar state will kick in and save her from Amon at the last second.

I don't think she'll defeat him (and by extension the Equalists) once and or all, (there still needs to be a season 2 afterall) but I think that it'll be a huge blow to Amon's plans, and combined with the United Forces presence will finally help the benders push back against the revolution (possibly to a stalemate situation that season two focuses on resolving).

Also, I'm hoping that Lin turns out to be every bit as badass without her bending as she was with it. (Though she'll definitely have to struggle with it to be realistic.)

They could always have some global threat for Season 2. Amon has always seemed to be a minor threat to the world given his focus on Republic City. Sure, given time he could be a global threat, but that would require him to be in charge of Republic City for a few years.

I hope Lin is able to Enter the picture again...I admit that I was more than "A little upset" when he bending was taken away.

We don't know how effective Amon's ability is. It could be a specialized pressure point technique that just needs another pressure point technique to fix. Or it could just wear off in a few months or a year. Which makes the most sense since the Equalists use technology and Chi Blocking to achieve their goals. Chi Blocking wears off after a few minutes. Amon's technique could be an advanced Chi Blocking technique or a technology enhanced Chi Blocking technique since he is giving off a Doctor Doom vibe. We never see his face or body and his organization uses mystical and technological abilities. Of course, this is all pure speculation.

Another interesting note is they more or less confirmed that Zuko himself is still alive, just really old.

They confirmed that awhile ago. He's 87, stepped down as Fire Lord, and is now an ambassador of peace while his daughter is the current Fire Lord. Here's a link to the wiki that details it all.

Alright so who cried like a baby after seeing the finale? *raises hand*

The Weekend Superheroic threads have been mostly about Korra for the past few months with minor discussion of the other new cartoon episodes.

Aman is a great villian, I hope he returns next season. (Signed on for 14 episodes) but seeing how this episode ended I am unsure

I am glad that Korra reached the avatar state, but what is left for her to do now???

Nothing to be unsure about. Only way they could have been more clear about his death is if they showed his burning corpse on that boat.

He's dead.

The first season was written out and already well into production by the time a second season was greenlit. By then, it was too late to change anything. Clearly they intended Amon to meet his end and leave it at that. Having him return for the second season would be a bit of a cop-out. Besides, he'd no longer be much of a threat by himself.

*raises hand*

I pretty much cried the whole of episode 12, then bawled at the end of it.

Still wish Korra and Asami/Ayami (whatever her name is) would've gotten together!

So, is this really worth watching? My wife, son and I all loved the first series, watching it multiple times and lending out the DVDs to people. We were looking forward to Korra, but when the first two episodes came out, I fell asleep watching the first one. It started ok, but I really didn't like
the weird 1920- or 1930-ish setting at all. When I woke up, I asked my wife what she thought. She said the story seemed dull, the supporting characters were not interesting and Korra herself was borderline annoying. I didn't bother trying to watch again and my wife has no desire to watch either. My son has expressed a desire to watch it, so I may try again, but I just don't have any enthusiasm about it.

I thought it kind of rushed to a lame back-to-status-quo conclusion.

Good! I wasn't the only one! Mako is a big ol Jerk and Korra is super selfish.

Yes it is. The old avatar started slow as well and Aang seemed a bit of a goofball ditz when we first saw him. There wasn't any action until the 2nd episode? I can't remember.

Give it a chance judging something based on 15 minutes of the first episode is pretty harsh. Korra is annoying at first and a bit immature but bare with the show she will grow on you and she will mature. She still has a long way to go though she's a typical teenager no doubt.

I could see it. It would make for a fitting chain when you include TLA's seasons.

TLA: Water, Earth, Fire
LoK: Air, Spirit
