A rash of Quarterhell

... ok, so what happened last night?

Joined a few of the LoC and some pickups over on Guardian to run Quarterfield. Since, well, I hadn't run it in ... I don't know, have I ever run that? Might be blocked out of my memory. It was several hours of pain, as usual, including "Who the *&#$#(* thought putting huge spawns just outside AND just inside the door was a good idea?" and "Six more missions...what year is it now?"

But that wasn't surprising.

What *was* surprising is seeing two other groups start this up within the first few missions we ran. *Three* groups running Quarterhell at once. Unplanned... and they were still dragging along when we finished ours, five hours and eleven minutes later.

Did we have some weird planetary conjunction last night that triggered this? Mass insanity? One group, ok, but three at once? I don't think I've heard of that (unplanned) in a long time. Or, really, ever.

Well, with the preponderance of ATT, Mission TP and Team Transporter, Doc Quitenearlyforever TFs don't take quite so long anymore.

I ran one shortly after TT hit the market. 4:30. Still a hefty time investment, and we had one numbnuts join and bail six missions in. But, overall, not nearly the mega-painfest they have been.

We ran a Sara Moore TF in 1 hour 20 minutes last night. Lots of Team Transport and the like.

We were planning to do a Doc Q, but waited until long after 9 PM to start so I wasn't willing to do a Doc Q by that point.

It was recently brought to my attention that there is only one R in Quaterfield.

There was this one time, though, I accidentally called him Dr. Quartermaster.

Just say Doc Q, then you don't have to attempt to spell it.

Also, beware of Doctor Salad. Such a terrifying name, Doctor Salad!

I think I've heard "Dr. Quarterpounder" at least once.

I'm still waiting for seeing that as a Weekly Strike Target on blueside.
Oh, the amount of complain and whining ...

Still love the TF though, and i keep my badge from there as something i can brag about - Before ATT, TT and other things made it quicker.

Last (and only) time I did Dr. Q, 2 team members, both of our buffers, bailed about 8 missions in. It took just over 8 hours to finish. That's with stealthing where ever possible.

I've noticed this getting run a lot more often in the past six months, too. Since popular opinion on my server (or is it on the fora? I can never keep track of popular opinion ...) is that Reward Merits are worthless, I'm not sure why, either.

You can by ATIO's for reward merits now, gives some added incentive I guess?

I have never ran Doc Q. Sadly I have yet to see it being advertised in any of my global channels. I would like to just run it for the badge and experience of saying I did it LOL!

111 Merits in an hour and a half to two hours if you play your cards right.
I can see it getting run every now and then.

That sounds rather cheesy to me.

Wow that's weird indeed heh...3 groups at the same time doing the TF

I think someone on Liberty mentioned they did it in 3 hours...but maybe what Neuronia said is true...can get it down to 2 if you know what's what....*shrugs*

Yeah, it involves running it with 4-6 people instead of 8.
One person stays at Quaterfield and clicks missions.
Rest of team needs Assemble the Team or Incandescence (not sure if that's available at Dr. Q) and you basically just blitz everything.

With the lower team size you get less mobs which means less kills...I'd still not do it again now that my badgers have it completed.

It is MG's favorite Task Force, because it's like running 3 TFs in a row without having to assemble 2 more teams. Which is why I was nearly on one last night, and I will almost certainly be on one before the week is out. >.>

Instead, we ran a Citadel, then a Sara Moore, and then I went to bed but MG ran an ITF. But they had to assemble new teams each time. :/

You know there was a time when a Quarter Pounder and a Quarter Pounder with Cheese were two separate menu items. Somewhere along the way, they decided that everyone likes cheese on their Quarter Pounders!

Myself, I prefer to have it my way.

Don't think this is really needed - we got his number almost right away, as I recall. No long treks back and forth. (remember some discussion about it on the team, actually.)

I did a DR Q sometimes in December. It took us about 3.5 hours. That was the last time I saw it being advertised on the badge/TF channel. We started with 8 people then 2 people left half way through.

As predicted... we ran a Doc Q tonight. just finished. It took us 2 hours 29 mins 55 seconds, with seven people on the team and four of them with Team Transport.

It felt longer though. :/

I'd offer to run it with you, but I have the sneaking suspicion I'd get burned.

Quite possibly. Last night was the night that my apartment suddenly decided to tilt on its side and send me falling to the far wall - or at least that's what it felt like thanks to some kind of wave of weird completely killing my sense of balance for about half a second. A few of my friends/colleagues felt it too, but none of us could figure out what it was. We're fairly sure it wasn't anything dangerous, though.

I think I would die of laughter if villains got a Strike Force equivalent to Doc Q.

Something with 22 missions, that keeps sending you to Monster Island and PvP zones and then back to Mercy, complete with multiple Rularuu (or similarly annoying enemy) ambushes and that ends on an Oranbega map with both CoT and Rularuu and you never see an AV....

I was reminded two days ago how awesomely bad Doc Q is. After 22 missions, after multiple hunts in the beginning, after jumping from Shadow Shard to Paragon at least twice, after multiple simultaneous 4-glowie clicks (and many other missions with glowies that serve no purpose), after many missions with aggressive rularuu ambushs that will kill unprepared squishies and even moderately well built melee types dead, you finally come to the end... and not only is there no AV, but it's Oranbega with tight corridors and a kill-all rularuu and cot together... just spectacularly, epically wrong, as if they said, "how can we make this EVEN WORSE". (Well, they could add Malta and Knives of Artemis too I suppose).

In fact, now that I think of it, the redside Doc Q really should have Malta and KoA in it. ^_^

i would take it lol, heck i would give anything just about for villains to get their own slice of the shadow shard and more tfs in general
