Tonight.

For those looking at the OP: The 29th date is in reference to the fact that it's already tomorrow in the British Summer Timezone.

In other words, a silly little in-joke that most people know.
Historically, the term was invented to connect the notion that ideas can replicate and evolve to genetics: a meme is the gene-analog of an idea.

On the internet, an internet meme is essentially a highly successful meme: its an idea that spreads on the internet via some mechanism, be it text quotation or forwarded image or video, until it reaches a critical mass where it becomes part of the cultural lexicon on the internet.

Welp, they walked right me, saying "Oh, he's AFK", as I typed frantically and all of my text showed up on my screen but none of it showed up in the video on Twitch TV until Zwill was long past me.

Right, I'm off to bed again. Good luck to whoever wins.

Didn't make the cut in the first contest and had to work during the second. That Friggin Hipster would be sad, but emotions are too mainstream.

Yeah, the same happened for me earlier. I had a couple chat macros ready, but they didn't show up on Zwill's end.

Since it's after 7:30 PM I'll work on the pics tomorrow. Need to go home to see my kids now.

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated tonight!

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

I don't have a picture, but I was the Mr. T lookalike, Sphere-Eater. Yeah, it was based on a meme that's borderline NSFW (albeit in a way that seems almost quaint these days), but I wanted to pay tribute to the oldest Internet meme I could remember (from the 1990s!), and I made sure to avoid the actual offensive word (a synonym for "spheres").

AND I WAS NOT AFK.

I didn't expect to actually win, but ... I was hoping they'd at least go "Oh yeah! Man, that one's old" and laugh. Or at least just laugh. Or any reaction whatsoever other than zooming past me without barely a pause.

I just felt rotten all night after that.

Personally, I was a bit disappointed when my first entry was ignored (Rick Troll, complete with green skin, pointy ears and violent lyrics) was ignored, but someone with a similar CoH/Meme blend (Numinuma) got lauded for their concept and placed in the last round because of it. Not to drag down their costume at all, but... y'know. Where was the love? Still, I got in as a finalist in the second contest with a different character, so I can't complain too much, I guess.

And to think, I threw I Am Courage Wolf together literally twenty minutes before the second contest started. I actually thought my entry for the first contest (Plank King) was more creative, but after I saw surprisingly-few advice animals there, I picked one for #2 and ran with it. I seized the day BY THE THROAT.

Anyway, thanks very much, Paragon! 'twas a lot of fun!

(But seriously, how I took the gold over the incredibly stiff competition -- especially the brilliant Chemistry Cat that also made it to the finals, I honestly can't figure out.)

For the second event I was absolutely thrilled to be a finalist for the first time after entering each costume contest since just before the Party Pack came out, and was stunned to actually have placed. One of my in-game goals was to be a finalist in a costume contest just to see the super secret Pocket D room. For the record, Socially Awesome was going to be "Woman Eating Salad Alone While Laughing" until about an hour before the contest, when my boyfriend told me "I think you can think of something better..." The live streaming really worked well, it did a great job of allowing contestants to see other contestants in the other Pocket D's, and was actually really funny.

All of the finalists costumes were just great, but my personal, sentimental favorites were What Is a Man? (Huge SOTN fan) and Sad Keanu (loved the sad Keanu meme and the finalist really played the part well). Didn't get the chance to tell them how much I liked their costumes during the contest, unfortunately, so hopefully they can see it here.

Edit: I hadn't seen too many Courage Wolf memes before Doctor, so I wasn't too familiar with it, but I looked at some examples and your use of the alpha aura was brilliant (pun possibly intended). Great job!

For those that were curious: The meme name I got was "All Your Base", without any tricks at all.

I was Photogenic Metalhead and was positively FLOORED by being added as a finalist. There were so many great costumes and concepts. I kept thinking I was invited by accident and was waiting to get booted out. So thank you, thank you, thank you judges, for liking my costume. Makes up for me missing out on part 2 of the Bugs themed contest because of a reading comprehension issue on my part (those time zones really mess you up if you don't read carefully ...)
