Oh thank god. Now I can actually finish it. Yay for auto completeness.

Okay, I got sidetracked, but I came back and did it. I was able to finish this mission in 4:40. I guess it felt like under 2 minutes the first time given how ploddingly slow picking everyone off one at a time is.

bug still there in I24 , even /sync every mob didn't help , it seems as you progress killing the mobs , the more likely change of a DC .

Definetly serverside issue , not client side .

nevermind , not worth fixing if

Spoiler.

There isn't anything different with auto complete .
As manual complete .

For me the problem is definately tie to the Flyer on the right.
I was pulling small group away, the left side was done, then i when to the right flyer, then Mapserver again.

To me a fun factor is fighting big groups.this bug is a huge problem.

I also think, with all the changes done to exp gain and side-kicking,that the pull and power effects limits should be removed or increased.

My tank like big crowds.

It kinda angers me that this went live. It's completely broken, and there is no net positive to the experience of having the broken thing in game. People who do what it takes to complete it don't get to experience what the devs intended, and people who don't do what it takes to complete it get to feel like they're sinking cash monies into a broken game with no quality control. If the server can't handle the mission, then hey, fine. the server can't handle the mission. So take it out, or tone it down to a point that the server can survive. There were obviously noble intentions, and it would've been awesome to destroy all of arachnos at once, but if the game can't handle it, it can't handle it.

Take it out or modify it so it -works-. Period. If that means we only get to kill 20 guys at once instead of a hundred, or that they're spread out over a larger zone or something, then so be it.

Editor's Note:
As it currently exists, this mission is possible to complete, but it is long and tedious. There are over 180 enemy mobs spawned on the last map, which causes frequent lost connections to the mapserver when they are defeated. The most reliable workaround is to slowly pull mobs using Laser Beam Eyes and defeating them with that attack and Energy Smash. Be careful not to enter the center of the Magisterium plaza right away to avoid drawing too many mobs at once. Even still, the mission will pause after each mob, so remain patient and methodical. It may also be beneficial to avoid using the Zeus' Lightning power, as some report that it causes additional lag
I completed this mission about a week ago, but read the wiki first and knew what to expect. For me I was never mapserved but after defeating a group of enemies the game would hang for a second or 2. No big deal. Just do what is suggested on the wiki and use Laser Beam Eyes to pull a group to you and just be patient. From what I could tell you won't take any damage at all no matter how many enemies are attacking you and pretty much all of your special powers can 1-shot everything.

what's sad is this is a bug that I reported back in Beta and nothing has been done.

It does suck that the mission is bugged. After giving it some thought, I doubt they are going to fix it. Are there any other flashback arcs you can do in under 5 minutes? Using the workaround, you could easily farm the thing for Ouro badges as it is. Patched, you could probably do it in one minute.

People have been making that same generic claim after -every- beta for the last 8 years.
That's not really an excuse for the Devs - but this is hardly a new state of affairs either. *shrugs*

If you got good at it, you could do the lvl 40-45 (45-50?) RWZ arc "The Strange Case of Benjamin Decker" to farm the ouro badges.

I know that's the one I used to farm the badges on EI. The arc takes about 5 minutes...depends on how bad the rescue AI is on the first mission.

There are several one-off badge missions that can go just as fast. The one where the only objective is defeating Nightstar comes to mind. The other personal stories, for that matter; Cole's is the only one that requires combat. Matthew Habashy's arc can be done in 10 minutes and gives challenge badges.

More importantly, the workaround doesn't work for everybody. I stood under Cole's statue, pulled, used only the laser eyes, and still mapserved. If I hadn't autocompleted it, I may still not have the badge (although when I ran it through Ouro, I could use all the powers and do the mission more or less as designed).

...the workaround I posted has nothing to do with using laser eyes.

To everyone else, I hadn't realized about the challenge badges not being awarded, so that makes this arc unsuited to badge-farming. Mea culpa.
