Don't know who the girl on the top right is, but the power looks cool. I don't recognize it, though.

Her name is Penelope Yin, she uses Psionic Melee.

Psionic melee? Guess it's new. Didn't see it on the CoH website.

That's Penelope Yin. She's grown up now and is an honest-to-goodness super-hero. She has a bunch of different psychic powers, including some from Psychic Melee, a speculated forthcoming set.

Yes..."speculated".

Cool. I love Faultline, and she's a great character. Maybe Jim Temblor should start becoming a superhero.

Of course it's speculated.

It hasn't been announced anywhere, so there's no possible way that anyone could know for sure if a power set like that is coming, then proceed to spill the beans like a goof in the Beta Testers global channel. NO. POSSIBLE. WAY.

She tried like forty of them, but all the good ones were taken by old never-activated trial accounts and people who haven't played since back before global handles were implemented in issue 4. So she had to improvise.

He is, well, he's paramilitary. He works with the Vanguard with Fusionette, but he has pretty much no costume.

So out of the Faultline trio, Jim Temblor has a hero name but no costume, Penny Yin has a costume but no hero name, and Fusionette is apparently the one one who's given any real thought to being a hero because she's the only one with a decent name and a costume.

(I now actually wanna see Penny, Faultline, and Fusionette all work together on something.)

One of the neat little touches on the new Penny Yin TF was one of the TF names being "Task Force Fautlline" - so she either picked it as a reference to the Jim, or to the zone where she first got invovled in the hero world.

It's either Psionic Blade or Psionic Thrust.
You create a blade of crystalline psionic energy around your hand...
Such psionic melee powers are not available to players. But new powers on NPCs often foreshadow what players will get in the future. Devs like to leverage resources for several purposes. Very cost effective.

Actually, to play on the "Yin Yang" thing... "Yin" in the "Yin Yang" daoist concept is the "Shadow side" it is the Masculine, the Manifest, and the overt to "Yang's" feminine, the unseen, and subtle...

So perhaps her hero name could be "Psychic Manifest"? Afterall, one of the big themes of her has been rising up and becoming a very overt force of psychic power. A contrast to Sister Psyche before her who was a controller that works in subtle details, or a contrast to Manicore who's nature is working in subtly and unseen aspects.

Penelope Yin form the Signature Story Arc, she also replace Sister Psyche as the TF Contact in IP.

Looks like she got a Unique Power Set with a Pet, Maybe this is a new power set in works or not.

Looks to me that she got a Psychic Melee attacks on the Signature Story Arc Mish.

Opposite way around: Yin is feminine, Yang is masculine.

I vote "Good Penny".

"Good Penny" versus Praetorian counterpart/Rogue Island villain "Bad Penny". Bwahahaha

Maybe I'm giving the developers too much credit, but it looked like he was working towards one:

As a contact in Faultline he's wearing a leather jacket over a t-shirt with the shattered Earth symbol and jeans.

In the Vanguard arcs he's wearing a leather jacket over the Justice top in brown and mustard and jeans.

I assumed that the next time he showed up, he would have furthered transitioned and would be using the Justice legs and boots instead of jeans, or something.

A gradual change as he grew into being a hero, you know? Because not everyone wakes up one day and decides to wear all spandex from then on. That or Fusionette's nagging him to look more like a real hero gradually wore him down.

But he's showed up a few times after the RWZ and he hasn't changed his look any, so like I said, maybe I was reading too much into it.

Chinese as in, "a Chinese national?" Probably not. But based on her name alone, we can safely assume she's Chinese as in, "of Chinese descent." Or possibly Cambodian.

I'm perfectly ok with Jim Temblor being the Luke Cage of the CoH universe.
