Article about female Marvel characters that should have their own movie
What about lesser known toons that are strong women, like Marrow, X-23 or Domino. You could also try a Dark Pheonix but I think X3 pretty much bugger that idea up.
Not sure about Wasp. The newly introduced character in A2 is Antman, as his film is out before A2 comes out.
Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)

Sadly, Fox looks like the type to be willing to push out a bad movie, just to keep the rights.
Wasp is to team oriented to really hold her own movie imo.

I went through a list of just female Marvel characters yesterday, and it was kind of sparse for well known women that could draw box office solo, and alot of the ones I thought could were in the X-books. Storm, X-23, Dazzler (yes I think she could hold a movie, nothing serious though), Psylocke, Rogue, Emma Frost. I'm sure I saw a few others, need more coffee to think.
Maybe not Psylocke, her story would take a trilogy of movies, and still wouldn't make sense.

No Squirrel Girl. I am disappoint.
Lady Liberators movie would be interesting though...
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
People keep saying that Fox or some other studio own rights to characters we haven't seen yet in movies... I highly doubt that. I believe they have the rights to the ones they've used already and the rest have gone to Disney.

You're right in a way. Fox owns film rights to Fantastic Four, X-Men and Daredevil. The wording of the contract implies they have license to use the main characters/places/terms and any characters/places/terms the frequently appear in the books. Theoretically, Disney could just put any character they want that hasn't appeared in an X-Men movie into one their own, but if they decided to say throw a Dazzler movie out into the world, they may have every right. Or since Dazzler is an X-Lady and a mutant, they could open themselves to legal recourse. I have no idea, I don't know what the exact wording of the original license deals were.
I think the water is especially murky for characters like Quicksilver or Scarlet Witch. They're both mutants and children of Magneto, who's been in 4 out 5 X-flicks, but they're both thought of as Avengers, not X-Men. Maybe not Quicksilver, he's bounced all over the Marvelverse. Honestly I'd love to see the deals with the other studios expire and have ALL film rights revert Marvel, but I don't think Sony or Fox will allow that. Even if they're not doing anything with the characters they have licensed.
Came across this article, it has a decent breakdown of who owns what.

I think a Danvers Captain Marvel could be done without her predescessor existing. It's not a hard origin: agent with background in USAF goes to space to stop/investigate some aliens, gets tampered with or exposed to alien tech, becomes uber powerful, saves the day. Maybe play with the 'oh noes I'm too powerful' thing, or the 'oh noes am I even human' thing.
Although I'd love a She-Hulk movie, I can see a Captain Marvel movie working really well.
OMG! How like, totally kewl are these characters?!1
I think what makes people wary, fans and execs alike, is that some can have it in their head that because these movies are a part of the same universe, they have to have similar tones and styles. However, I think this would be a mistake since this is not how the source material is presented.
It's kind of like what's happening now with the Superman movies supposedly needing a darker, grittier tone because that's what works for Batman.
I think they need to be willing to take some of these characters in a lighter or darker tone accordingly. With She-Hulk, for example, it's a concept that can work if they follow along the lines of Dan Slott's super-lawyer run from the comics and perhaps the zanier "he/she's a mild-mannered person who thinks they have it all figured out until x circumstance comes along and changes their life" concept that's at the heart of (just an example) movies like Liar Liar or Big Daddy.
It doesn't all have to be some hardcore high-stakes story about the superhero needing to step up and save a city or the world, and even if it is, it doesn't have to approach it with the same tone and style as others have.

Daughters of the Dragon would make a great movie title, but with neither Misty Knight or Colleen Wing having powers, I am not too sure how well it would sell as a super hero movie.
They do have a lot going for them. Asian samurai hottie and a supah bionic Sistah girl.
I could see She-Hulk being spun off in her own movie if they introduce her in the next Hulk movie. Maybe the villain is the Leader and he's trying to perfect his Instant Hulk Formula that went haywire with the Abomination. Maybe he finds there is something special about Banner's genetics, so he find a relative that has some similar genes, Jennifer Walters. He uses his formula on her and transforms her into the She Hulk. For most of the movie, She Hulk is a pawn of the Leader, but by the end she gets her mind back, but her body is forever hulkified.
It could happen.

I don't know about a solo movie, but I do think the gender balance of the Avengers needs to be addressed. Black Widow is not only just 1/6, she is also much less superpowered than most of her male teammates. (Or, in terms of Sky High: SIDEKICK!!!)
The list linked in the OP looks pretty strong, much stronger than a similar list put together by IGN.
I really should do something about this signature.
I wouldn't discount Black Widow too much, in many ways she belongs to the same club as Capt.America and Nick Fury, and as much as Capt is a super soldier, she is a super spy.
-Like Nick and Steve, underwent a process to enhance her abilities, same process slowed her aging process( I'm looking at the Mainsteam Widow)
-of the line up they included in the movie, only Hulk and Thor were actual superhumans, Stark uses armor, Cap is a peak human with a shield, Widow is a peak human, although with Hawkeye, you could argue in the movie he displayed superhuman reflexes and senses

What about a Scarlet Witch movie?
It could be made into a nice magical story about good and evil. Demons and such could appear. The only hurdle I could see would be the Magneto reference but I'm sure it wouldn't have to be mentioned right away.
While I would love a She-Hulk movie, I don't want one based off the comic.
Most comic readers and I am pretty sure no regular Joe movie goer wants to see a super hero **** who talks to the audience during the movie.
I would like to see her brought back to her roots. She was once said to have a chance of being Marvel's Wonder Woman. A strong female character with super powers, deep moral convictions and so forth.
The current comics tossed it aside and turned her into a super ****.
