I remember my first comics being a superman origin vinyl record combo that had action comics #1 on the cover and i had a spiderman #1 and batman #1 comics and vinyl records. I remember having Detective comics 400 the first appearance of the Manbat that I got from my grandparents basement when i was really young. Captain America #230, February 1979 from the month I was born. Marvel Graphic novel #4 the first appearance of the New Mutants.

The only comics i still have are the Captain America and marvel graphic novel #4.

The x-men's x-cutioners song story line rekindled my interest in comics after years on hiatus.

French speaker so the Belgian stuff like Tintin, Achille Talon, Iznogoud, Spirou and so on.

Didn't read a 'comic' until a friend hooked me to Strangers in Paradise by Terry Moore. Met Terry and Robyn a ton of times and the only other "comic" I have read is Fables. Too many superhero comics have unrealistic female representations so I have steered clear of them for the most part.

Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.

The men aren't exactly shining beacons of realism either, but no one really talks about that.

SPOILER ALERT: superhero comics are kind of unrealistic.

Yeah, I know.
There are realistic comics out there though, even superhero ones.
Troy Hickman had a good one going. Oddly enough, males in comics tend to have a lot more depth than females...

Now do you have any comics you could refer me too that have both genders not grossly inflated/exaggerated but still an enjoyable read?

"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict

I honestly find realistic comics kinda boring, even the superhero ones. If I wanted reality I'd go *shudder* outside.

My mom is pretty much a life-long Superman fan-girl, so I grew up with comic books around the house. I can't remember what the first issue I ever read was, but I'm certain Clark Kent was involved somehow.

My own "first loves" so to speak... the first titles I bought for myself... were Doctor Strange, Thor and Arion. I also started reading West Coast Avengers pretty early on in its run.

Earliest comic books I remember being a fan of were the war comics. Sgt. Rock, G.I. Robot, Haunted Tank, Battlefield Action, Wierd War, Unknown Soldier. Then as those became harder to find I moved on to the traditional Marvel/DC super heroes.

I was never really into comics growing up, I preferred video entertainment ala ninja turtles.

My very first comic is actually easy to recall, I still have it too.

In 1993 I was at school waiting to get on the bus for a trip to six-flags. The ride was to take 2 hours so while talking to a friend I asked if he had any comics I could buy.

He sold me the one he'd read for a buck.

It was a pretty thick special edition of Spider-Man. The main story focused on a new villain named Annex, Gulf War vet that lost his legs I think. Also had a few other short stories, one about JJ's son being a werewolf?

Anyways, that was my first and aside from the JC Penny 'box o random comics' like Alf and Globetrotters, my last 'real' comic purchase.

Which is somewhat odd when people find out I never got into comics, as I'm a huge superhero mythos buff.

Now, comic cards on the other hand! Oh boy, I collected and traded those things like crazy. Think I still have a few binders full somewhere.

Edit to add link: Apparently it was Annual#27

Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!

The first comic I ever owned.....

Edit: I take that back, I think I remember having the #1 comic too.

Giant Size X-Men #1

Not sure if the Picture worked. That is the first comic I remember reading. Loved it.

I was a big fan of JLA.

Great title to get hooked on!

I picked up my copy years after the fact when I got obsessed during the Claremont/Byrne/Austin run. A buddy of mine was liquidating his comics before heading off to college, and as he'd worked at Atlantis Fantasyworld in his youth he had a lot of terrific stuff in amazing condition- the heart of the collection was Avengers 1-300.

He traded it to me in return for a promise to pick up the tab for pizza and movies that summer- needless to say, I came out ahead of that deal. =P

Now, like a lot of middle aged geeks, he's rebuilding his collection & it galls him that I've got a copy and he doesn't. =P

My very first comic book that I can remember reading was The Human Fly. I have no idea what issue it was. I destroyed that poor book I read it so many times.
