CoH Tips Tricks and Secrets
Which PBAoEs are you talking about? Proper ones or cone ones? And I'm not sure what using such attacks have to do with survival.

The downsides are that you lose animation time and that you're out of position for further melee attacks.
Good tip. BUT, you get no badge credit when doing it this way. Also DO NOT CRAFT THE LOST CURING WAND this way. Since everything in AE only counts for AE, anything you craft won't count for anything in the proper game.
As for a random tip/trick that I just found out about recently... You don't have to select a character and then hit the "enter game" button... You can just double-click on the character you want and it'll load up. Saves a second or two for when you really want to get into the game fast.

Code:
/bind sysrq "screenshotui 0$$screenshot" /bind shift+sysrq "screenshotui 1$$screenshot" (my favorite tip to share, I get a lot of comments on it every time screenies get discussed in global channels) |
/bind P "screenshotui 0$$screenshottga" /bind SHIFT+P "screenshotui 1$$screenshottga"
That does the same thing, except the images are saved in lossless TARGA file. Why they didn't go with PNG is beyond me, but it's easy enough to convert using something like GIMP or IrfanView. I use these images mainly for doing screenshots of the user interface, as JPG artifacts when I want pixel-perfect renderings drive me batty.
Be aware, though, that as a lossless format, the images are a lot bigger than their JPG equivalent. If you don't have a lot of capacity on your drive, use them sparingly.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
The Weekly Strike Target is now displayed in the LFG panel. It's the SF / TF underlined in purple.
Whenever you wonder what something does, right-click on it and select Info. Almost everything in game as an Info panel, some with extensive information on what it is and how it works.
"Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself." ~Midnight Flux's former boss.
There are usually two sides to every argument but no end.
Everything placed above this line is always IMHO, YMMV and quite certainly not to be taken too seriously....

However, I've got a standard setup I use and have used since I started on EU launch, which is to assign Toggle UI Screenshot to F12 and TGA screenshot to Print Screen.
I slap PrtScrn, F12, PrtScrn and I get a pair of screenshots, one with the UI, one without. Afterwards I pick the one I want.
And on my system, running at 1920x1200, .tga screens are currently running at 6.75Mb each so yes, if you're low on HDD space, then use .tga screens sparingly.

Uh... huh. What about say... a character doing the Faultline, Hallows, or Striga Island missions? This is going to save me a lot of time! Thanks to the /Auctionhouse and /Vault commands, I don't really need to visit those anymore... a crafting table with easy access was al that I was missing.

I do this when creating a new character:
1. Click to expand the power trays to a stack of three. Click the side arrows to make sure you have trays 1, 2 and 3 open.
2. Enter /cleartray into the chat window. This will clear all the powers in the trays. Handy for removing things you may not use, like the Vanguard pet.
3. Go to Account Items in email and find the first item. It will probably be a tailor token or something similar. Click 'Claim all' on the attachment. This will automatically reward all items available for a new character. If an item requires a choice the game will give you a prompt. I find this quicker than picking and choosing through the list of (former) vet rewards.
4. Click Powers in the topmost tray and drag the stuff you will actually use into the power trays.
Yes, but you couldn't enter below level 35 until much later. And it's still further than AE.

That said, I think this video was intended more as bit of humor than as a game guide and I thoroughly enjoyed it as such.

I will say this is kinda neat.
Buying in bulk, I prefer to run to Steel. Waiting a few minutes can often mean a 500% price drop, and by the time I craft the IOs I already have enough materials for, I can hop back to the market, get more salvage or recipes, craft more, etc..
A couple of years back I was teaming with the guy that got me in to playing this game. He couldn't find that side tunnel that'd not been explored on the map. I suggested he use the Zoom function, to which his reply was "What zoom function?"
All these years playing and he didn't know... those tiny weeny + and - signs at the side of the map are on a slider and will zoom in and out
Help Dirk Knightly the freelance detective solve a case in Arc ID:368097
Easiest is to turn this all around.. if you have the vet power ...
Stand by a crafting table and use /auctionhouse and you dont have to move for the duration :P
Nice tip and great movie. Good enough to have that person make more of them and then gather them.
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!
So, did anyone watch the new video? At this point "It sucked!" would be welcome.
Smeg, I just finished watching...great info AND made me chuckle!
Many things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.
Thanks Healix! Just knowing one person laughed made my day. I already have an idea for my next one.
Great vids and cool tips, keep em up!
And thanks to Canine for plugging my original AE craft center, the Crafter's Cafe, still serving Paragon's finest daily!
Also, you may want to note a warning that the Lost Curing Wand will eat up your salvage and not craft if you do it in AE. Normal temp powers can be crafted, but mission items won't.
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
Speech bubbles work well when you design them correctly and manage every tiny bit of what they say and how they work.
For this game they work to reinforce the comic book stereotypes, and give the players a more immersive comic book feeling.
You'll notice if you open up a comic book, the speech bubbles are almost never as static as they are in this game though. The artists play around with them a LOT.
That being said, it might not be worth the effort to be quite so anal about such trivial aspects of the movie. it works rather well as a more humble approach to delivering its content.
