What defense secondary to pair with Street Justice?

Way back when this game first came out, I rolled a stalker. And after maybe...the third stalker, I thought, "Whelp, I'm done."

But after these changes I'm very much so interested in playing again.

For thematic purposes, Street Justice fits my character best.

However, I'm stuck deciding on a secondary.

I considered Nin, because it's awesome. However there IS the issue of endurance, and I also wonder, when it comes to being IOed, how does Nin hold up?

The other two options are ice armor, and energy. Ice, I'd take up in an instant, but the effects of blocky ice have always been...meh. Energy...I rolled an energy scrapper, and I was honestly not too impressed with it.

Super reflexes I've messed with before, and I'm not too fond of, too boring of a playstyle.

Any suggestions?

Ice is really, truly ugly but if you can get past that I recommend it highly. It's a late blooming set that really shines with major IO investment. Mine is in the 40s now and icy bastion seriously feels like a cheat code on a two-ish minute timer. Between that and EA my heavy endurance usage isn't really a problem, when I'm paying attention. Being immune to slows is arguably not quite as nice as some other esoteric immunities but it can certainly be handy. I think it'd go nicely with street justice, the flashy attacks would distract you from the fact that you're encased in glowing crap.

Whatever endurance problems Nin has can be taken care of with Ageless, but that is far down the road and isn't available while exemping.

For the new DA content (assuming you run +4/+8) or itrials I highly recommend StJ/Ice. Softcap (45%) plus Icy Bastion is plain cheating Add in PPP for Shadow Meld and you are golden for iContent (DA, trials).

You lose some recharge from say SR -- so the absolute top chain may be out of reach (maybe not with Ageless) -- but you get loads of survivability, esp. with perma Hoarfrost putting you at around 2000hp. If you make the ice armor dark purple / dark purple, you barely see it at all. I took Rebirth for extra survivability.

If I can tool around with the colors then I may have to just consider ice. Thanks!

I've been leveling a Stj/Ice that has been pretty great together...he's 36 now I believe. With some playing around with tints, the ice shields aren't too horrible.

Don't I know you???

/Ice and /Nin are just hilariously good. Ice has the issue of being visually ugly as sin though.

If you're going into the extreme, I think that SR may be the only choice to get an iCapped, permahastened toon without the use of any specific Alpha or Destiny slots. For example:

I'm still a big fan of Dark Armor, and especially on Stalkers.

From my guide:

First, and perhaps obviously, you lose Death Shroud for Hide. Cloak of Darkness is also replaced by an auto power called Shadow Dweller. It still boosts defense, although not as much, but it's great for not having an endurance cost. Remember that you'll be stacking Hide as well. The last big change is how the control auras work; they will suppress while you are hidden. Until you take action to break hide, they will do nothing but consume endurance and immediately apply their effects once you do.

The control auras are what shine so well on a Stalker. In my experience, Stalkers have more trouble with a slew of minions than they do one really tough boss. The control auras allow you to ignore the minions and focus on the bosses in a group. Assassination Strike has particularly good synergy with Cloak of Fear because of the terrorize and to-hit debuff that affects an area around your assassination target.

Here is an Icap energy Aura.

Its not cheap and this is a first run build. It needs revisions for efficency (too much end reduction on the toggles).

But its somewhere for you to start.

Ice is probably good, but I really wish they'd give us the choice to have it visible in PvP only. The god damn Ice Armor is just...

so....

ugly!

I love my Street Justice / Super Reflexes stalker. Yeah, he doesn't have all the cool tools that other secondaries have, but he has fantastic defenses, and he is a lot of fun. My build has 58.5% to 59% to all positions, not including Hide, and not including any Incarnate stuff at all. With Hide running, even when I'm attacking and it is partially suppressed, my actual defense numbers are around 60.5%. So I am pretty much golden there. I currently run Cardiac Tier 1 in him, but thats all so far. He isnt even endurance heavy, I just snagged it because it was quick.

Anyway, here is his build.

I disagree with having a in PvP only look to the set. It's an elemental armor, should show the element!

However, I do think it needs a revamp *cough*DevsCheckOutTheOriginalCompetition*cough* in it's look!

That's fine, but it's just the entire block-of-ice full body armor that looks...ugly.

Hoarfrost looks great with the thin layer of ice on the body, but the rest...I mean, honestly, a WHOLE body covered in frozen ice blocks looks...Seriously unpleasant. Maybe without covering the head, and reduce the density of the armor or something.

Or we could do it Sub-Zero style and just have the character obtain a 'Frozen look', i.e, Sub-zero's victim after an Ice Blast. That would be nice, because I want to try Ice Armor, but the freaking blocks-of-ice-around-body just messes with the costume.

OH, OH, or it could be similar to the Victorian Decor Aura!

I'd love to see this build
I rolled this StJ/Nin to be my primary toon on this account. With the mock up Mid Heros builds I've been testing, it does look like this stkr would be comperable to tank def while massive Dam.. I've got him at lvl30 right now & the tradeoff at this lvl was extra Def over Dam, this allows me to run in a higher enemy map for street soloing
