Were purple recipe drops "adjusted"?

Well I have been away from the game for about a just about a month, and after coming back I've noticed not only that I'm not getting Purple drops but not getting any Orange drops either. I know it's purely anecdotal and that Very Rare and Rare drops are random but it certainly seems to have changed for me. I also was wondering if I had missed an announcement while I was gone.

Anecdotally, this question does seem to be more prevalent very recently.
I've coincidentally had three purples drop in Feb and that was after a very barren period, howver I've been experiencing that only on toons that have high difficulty.
There for I can definitively conclude that I have no clue as to the evidence.

Anecdotally, I've seen a sharp increase in purple drops lately.
As this is the opposite of the OPs recent experience, I suspect this means.....
Random is random.
Yes i ran a test and Purples are easier to get now then ever i killed about 10,000 freaks on my dreck map and I got one.
...and yet all I seem to get are whites with the occasional yellow and amazingly-rare orange and absolutely no purples, whether I'm doing trials, playing at +4x8 with my tank, or whatever.
Personally, I think there's a big red button somewhere with my name on it and someone pressed it to pay me back for petitioning one too many times! :P

Yeah, I posted upthread about my incredible streak last weekend. But Oranges? i see soooo many Oranges. And each time I get one I get excited just for a second cause I am hoping that color is purple lol. then bummed. But I make them, sell them. I dont market them well, but I make some off them and increase the I/Os in the game, which is part of my evil plan, muah hah hah.
