Command of the Mastermind - New ATO
You can slot it in pets from your secondary as well (i.e. psuedo pets from Storm, Darkness, etc), so even without henchmen you can use it, just have to wait until later in the game.

Can you confirm absolutely that it does take the Mastermind ATO set?
@Draeth Darkstar
Virtue [Heroes, Roleplay], Freedom [Villains], Exalted [All Sides, Roleplay]
I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30)) Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.
I have to say judging from all the other ATO's this is all they come up with?!
REally +aoe bonus something that we pretty much all ready have. Wheres the creativity??
Blaster wraith of the Blaster Chance of Fire dam
Brute Fury Bonus
Scrapper Chance to Crit
Dominator Chance for Dam
MASTERMIND - AOE BONUS WTF?!?!?!
The MM one is extremely good and proves you have no idea about MMs.
Everyone complaining about the +RECH in the enhancements are also bad.
AoE is what kills MM pets more often than not.
Waiting for a pet to recharge is devastating in the event one dies.
Quit being silly!

Your milage may vary, but calling people silly for having a different opinion to yours due to their own experiences is somewhat myopic.
Uhhh...but the other Mastermind Enhancement sets (Blood Mandate, Sovereign's Rite, Soulbound Allegiance, etc, etc.) all have Recharge in them. It speeds up the recharge of that particular pet. Personally, I put the slot in my T1 pets because those tend to die the quickest, thus making sure you have them up is more important.
Adding Recharge to summon powers I've always found to be pretty situational bordering on useless since the pets Recharge change. Most of the time if a pet dies the power is ready up anyway, without needing Recharge to be slotted at all. Mind you I take the busy secondaries and thus always have Haste as well.

Issen: only Soulbound and Command have Recharge.
Recharge in a pet set is silly, it really is. If you are a good MM, you won't lose your pets so much that you need the powers to recharge faster. The AoE def bonus is good, 2% more damage is utterly useless, and due to the massive amount of recharge in the set the overall enhancement values are rubbish. It is a bad set.
The MM ATO set be slotted into non-standard pet powers (which do benefit greatly from recharge) such as: Gang War, Hell On Earth, Soul Extraction, and Tornado
I think the idea was to make the set as versatile as possible. Besides... what else could they have? acc/dmg/end is all that the standard pets really benefit from. At superior values the set basically caps acc/dmg/end/rech so whats really the harm of the recharge being there? None that I can see. And the benefit is that sets that DO benefit from recharge get something out of it.

again there is really nothing wrong with some recharge in the set. It benefits a number of mm powers that require recharge and the set covers all the acc/dmg/end you will need anyways.

Which simply tells you that keying the MM ATO to pets was an extraordinarily BAD IDEA from the get go.

I personally find nothing wrong with the set and I am actually quite happy with it. Yes even the set bonuses. But I'm weird like that.

Dark Servant doesn't take pet damage sets.

The only MM secondary power that takes Command is Tornado.
The only non-primary pets (i.e. powers that benefit from recharge) that take it are Hell on Earth, Soul Extraction, and Gang War.
i.e. if you're not Demons, Thugs, Necro, or Storm, you're SOL.
I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion nor do I agree with it.

And Tornado is generally a poor place to stick a proc anyway due to the nature of how the proc fires coupled with the knockback (which Masterminds are poorly equipped to counter)
They should probably have done something interesting like reduce and spread the recharge into the other 4 procs and give it two procs, the Defense one and another which procs on hit, like a toned down damage proc or a chance to heal proc.

I find Command of the Mastermind set really lacking. The aoe defense is nice but if you are not a demon, necro or thug, you'll have to sacrifice one more slot for it.
The first set bonus is retarded. I am sorry but damage buff on an AT with the LOWEST damage modifier makes so little sense to me. Give me +endurance, defense, resistance or hell even +speed is better than +damage.
I won't slot the whole set for sure because I need rooms to put two other pet unique sets in primary and some damage procs.
MM's ATO is the worst IMO. Only the aoe defense is worth it.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I would much rather they give all primary sets access to Pet Recharge sets so we can get 4 sets of unique. Why should Necro, Thug and Demon have access to two more unique?

If Mastermind is the true 10/10 Pet Class, he should have access to all the Pet sets.
The argument that Pet Recharge doesn't benefit MM's pets as much (since +recharge doesn't affect pets) is false because Command of Mastermind has -recharge. So obviously the dev have no problem putting -recharge in Pet sets.
So why restricting Pet Recharge sets to some primaries? I don't get it.

The set isn't bad at all imho. It has insane stats even if you completely ignore the recharge. +82% accuracy, +102% damage and 82% endredux.
Just compare it to either Sov or SA, more damage than the former and far more accuracy than the latter. Complaining about its setboni is a bit strange considering the setboni of the two other noncommon sets, 4 out of 5 setboni of Sov are ... well anticlimatic is putting it nicely. And SA actually has even worse boni imho.
