It is likely listed as a separate bonus, so it should be okay. But don't quote me on that. The Rule of Five is based on the actual bonus name, not the numerical amount.

You may want to look at the Beta forums. The question may be answered there already from when people were testing them.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

By the way. A purple set that is 50+5 is better than the atio sets. So i have no need for the new ones except on some rare toons since im purpled on everything. And my mains are +5s
Yep I was disappointed that the ATOs could not be individually +5 boosted, but I will purple my Might of the Tanker as there is no good way to get a 5th Purple set on to my Granite tank.
I tested on the test server... the bonuses of the epic ATIO's are considered the "same" as epic IO's... so if you already have 5x 10% recharge from epic sets the epic ATIO set wont give you any more recharge.
That said... the ATIO sets give another avenue to stack that recharge when your powersets dont offer a wide array of options for epic sets. You could also possibly unslot an epic set that was suboptimal and was used solely for the recharge bonus and potentially recover some slots.
All in all with the ease of acquiring and how nice most of the set bonuses are (as well as the nifty unique procs) I can't think of any reason NOT to use an ATIO set.

This is correct I found out last night on Freedom from someone i know. This will not give the ability to have a 6th set

However I was ably to take of a sub optimal set in a dmg attack/stun that i only had room for the stun purple set. I put in Brute ATO and gained a dmg attack back which is sweet
Not only that i sold the purple set for 1.3 billion and spent about 175 mill on the last 3 ATO's i needed.
just to remind you all. This is when you take an ATO and use a catalyst on it. NOt only does it give same bonuses as purples(which sucks) its now Bound to you forever(which sucks more)

Only IOs can be boosted. And the Catalysts don't necessarily boost the ATOs as they change what ATO you have completely.
