Not as bad as the prequel but alot less enjoyable than 1 and 2 IMHO.

SPOILERS BELOW!

No Scott Speedman/Micheal Corvin = EPIC FAIL, almost 100% killed my ability to like this movie. They left it open for him to be in the next one but Speedman has said they havent talked to him at all so im sure they will F it up.

Underworld...... I am disapoint.

I dunno. The outfit as a whole just didn't do anything visually for me, and it just didn't seem that exciting. Her acting was pretty good in this one, however the movie over all didn't capture my attention for very long. Not a bad movie, not a blockbuster hit in my opinion. Also, she could of been way sexier with a lot more buttkickery. She just didn't do it for me in this one.

I agree about the outfit. She looked better to me in Val Helsing.

I might end up seeing this one but the trailer just had the look of a smaller budget and I worry they just threw this one out there to tap into the 3D gimmick.

The 3D was worthless just like 90% of the other 3D movies ever made. Im so sick of it MAKE IT GO AWAY!

I went to the overnight showing. Like it, didn't "love" it. At least the vamps weren't "sparkly".
Saw it in 3D. Emerged with a headache. Need to stop wasting my time with 3D titles until they can do them without the stupid, eyestrain-inducing glasses.

The in-joke with India Eisley as the product of a "star-crossed love affair" was subtle, but funny nonetheless.

Any movie that has vampires be vampires and not disco balls is a win to me.

That's because she was dressed and not this weird pseudo-I'm almost naked but all you'll see is the PVC/rubber/etc. I mean, the movie is already rated R. A few boobs here and there isn't going to mean much. Either give the ladies an actual outfit or have it come off. This in-between land is getting old and is nothing more than, IMO, a ploy to get guys to the show with the hope of her getting teh nekkids, but not really.

There was some hot navel action in the second one, though. Eh? Eh?

Dunno. Don't think I ever saw it. I wasn't too impressed with the first one, so much so that I don't really remember anything from it.

I'm too starved for good werewolf movies to have not seen Underworld.

Stylized Action? Yes!

Stylized Violence? Yes!

Easy to follow plot? Yes!

It's a movie that would be touted as a summer blockbuster if it had a bigger budget (and you know, shown in the summer).

If you liked 1 and 2, I see no reason why one wouldn't enjoy this one.

And her outfit is more about style than anything else. Really. Is it that hard to see? No whether you think it's stylish is a different story. But it's about style. Not "will it or will it not come off". *rolls eyes*

I haven't really liked any of the Underworld movies I've seen. And like the other ones, I'll wait for this one to come to Netflix streaming or TV before even considering watching it.

And the part where she's crawling through the vent and the camera is focused right in on her butt? That's about "style" too, right?

A leather outfit can be good for fighting, but that rubber stuff she's wearing? Not so much. Not very much protection, probably hot (temperature-wise) as everything, probably doesn't breathe well.

She's a vampire. She doesn't need it to breathe. She doesn't breathe.

As for protection. She's a bad *** action hero! Outfit for protection? That's like wondering why all the other action heroes dont wear bullet proof vests or are armored up all the time.

Except when in the first movie cpr was performed on her to get her breathing again And she actually coughed, breathed in and out sharply and everything.

I personally found the first film to be a disappointment, and the others that followed got even worse.

Just got back from seeing Underworld: Awakening. Overall, I'd say if you're a fan of the franchise and you can overlook some of its innate shortcomings, you could enjoy this one. That giant werewolf from the trailers wasn't a one-battle gimmick, the final battle sequence was good and Beckinsale's Selene got some moments of badassery. However, there were some major failings with this film. First of all, Speedman's lack of involvement was painfully obvious; I haven't seen a character essentially cut out of a franchise so blatantly since James Marsden as Cyclops in X-Men 3. Secondly, the plot was pretty thin, which becomes more evident about 3/4ths of the way in when there's a major revelation about the current state of things. Finally, the secondary characters were weak; we're given a hallow father-son conflict in the current vampire ranks, a sympathetic detective given too little screentime, and maternal scientist given even less.

If you're the type whose enjoyment can be sustained by sheer werewolf maulings and Matrix-esque gunfights, it's worthwhile, but if you're looking for any degree of heart and soul behind the characters fighting this immortal war, you'll leave disappointed.

Underworld...... I am disapoint.
I've seen the first two Underworld movies and I can barely remember the Speedman character being anything much more than the "generic cut-n-paste" love interest who provided the excuse for there to be some fight sequences between Selene and the various other characters. I'm guessing if I ever get around to seeing this new one I'll barely realize he's not in it. *shrugs*

As CaptainFoamerang implied the only thing this franchise has ever been good for is a bit of vampire/werewolf/Matrix-esque action with Kate Beckinsale thrown in to supply some catsuit-based eye-candy for the guys in the audience. The "story" behind this thing has (and probably never will be) all that important. At least (as mentioned earlier) these vamps don't sparkle...

Sounds good enough for me, but I´m still waiting for a Werewolf: the Apocalypse movie.

Pfft. If you want nauseating levels of bad emo, go watch Twillight.

Crap. Can't believe I just recommended Twillight to someone...

While Vampire: the Masquerade was pretty emo-tastic, in my experience, Werewolf: the Apocalypse was more about ripping filthy evil things to shreds. Like Captain Planet with lots of gore.

Better werewolf movie? An American Werewolf in Paris. Awesome, IMO, soundtrack as well.

As I recall, the shapeshifting bugged me in that movie (and possibly its predecessor as well, though that one gets props for some excellent practical effects). The knees bending backward was just wrong. There should have been a relatively normal knee with an elongating foot.

*shrug* I'm willing to accept some liberties with the shapeshifting. It was a fun movie and a decent entry in the list of werewolf movies.

I was thinking Seth Green was in it as one of the friends, but looking on IMDB, seems he wasn't. Jeez, this is gonna bug me for a while, because I could swear Seth played a guy that came back as a ghost and haunted a friend in some movie.
