The reason they took some of the control out of Dark Affinity is because you get a lot of that from your primary. And, I suspect another reason is that Dark Affinity keeps the Dark Servant. Dark Servant, in and of itself, gives you a pretty good additional "mini" controller.

The potential for easy softcap is just too much to resist. Arguably you wouldn't need to softcap with all the -tohit, but I'd still do it, cause I like having the extra buffer against defense debuffs.
I would have rerolled my Dark/Poison Merman corruptor as a Dark/Poison controller, but the wolf pet kinda ruins that. I still like the puppy though... if he'd just stop all that yapping...

1. Dark/Storm- Hello 5 (or 6) pets/pseudo-pets out at once.
2. Dark/Poison- Super -To Hit nice -Res numbers.
3. Dark/Time- Heh
4. Dark/Kin- This will replace my main grav/kin
5. Dark/Rad- Maybe I have never been able to play /Rad past lvl 20
6. Dark/TA- Maybe

After looking at my free slots and my existing characters, I plan to make:

Also, I will remake my Egyptian King (poisoned by his sister) vengeful spirit guy as a Dark/Poison controller, since it fits even better than Illusion/Poison.
As for other new powersets, I plan on earth/dark controller, fire/dark controller, illusion/dark controller, fire/dark dom, and staff/sr scrapper.

My Dark/Dark blaster that's sitting bored (and relatively unplayed) in Preatoria will likely be rerolled into a Dark/Dark controller. My Illusion stage magicians will welcome another member to the troupe with an Illusion/Dark.

As tempting as Illusion/Dark or Dark/Storm are . . .
I already have 4 level 50 Illusion/* controllers, plus 3 more in the 30's. AND
I already have 4 level 50 */Storm controllers, plus one more in the late 40's and a few lower than that.
So I'll probably go with a Dark/Dark to get both sets out of the way. I already have a Dark M/Elec Defender and a Thugs/Dark M Mastermind at 50 and a Fire/Dark M Corrupter in the 40's, so Dark Miasma is pretty familiar.

I also want to go either Plant/Dark or Dark/Dark...I finally deleted Emp...he's been sitting there collecting dust for over 3 years. I need something a bit more active and /Dark is it...mind you it is superior in any way to Empathy I just need a Support set that is more active like /Time or /Dark.
