Weekly MM Madness on Exalted!

My Ninja/Storm Gale Storm is sitting under Atlas waiting. My global is @Model Nine. I also reccomend we all join the Mastermind Global Channel to make finding each other easier.

I've always wanted to level a Mastermind to 50 and beyond.
Ninja/Time it is for me.

Well the first night seemed to go well. The 5 of us who were on got to lv 19 in around 4.5 hours.

5 mixtures of buffing/debuffing masterminds: 2 stormies, 2 sonics, and a pain (2 ninjas, 1 necro, 1 demon, and 1 thugs), we rolled. When the stormies picked up freezing rain the same level the sonics got disruption fields, it was like we popped the clutch in third gear and barked the tires. That combination just got seriously deadly.

One of the joys of this is that we can all pile in the alts. If someone wants to jump in later that's fine too. We all started at lvl 2 and ran DFB until lvl 10 then hit Posi 1 and 2. Later joiners can do the same or just hop in and they'll catch up soon enough. We can even run lowbie teams on certain nights for alts for badges, new content and so on.

Yeah...this'll be fun.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

I'm not going to wait until next Friday to fire up the second team! My weekend plans have fallen through so if anyone wants to join me THIS Friday (12/30) for a marathon of MM Madness feel free. I'll be starting an alt team, bringing everyone into the SG and then running like mad!

So, Comicsluvr, let's do a little FAQ:

1. If I have a mastermind on Exalted, and I want to play some nights or other but not join the Mastermind SG, is my mastermind welcome?

2. If I have a mastermind that plays on Wednesday night, is my mastermind welcome on Friday- barring the Friday team filling with new people?

3. If I have a cool illusion controller with 4 pets, is that a mastermind ?

4. Do I have to bring a certain set or can I play a petless mastermind?

5. What is the horizontal velocity of an unburdened swallow?

I'll be bringing an alt this friday, probably necro/dark but I also may just decide to bring my bots/traps into the group to cut down on my altitis a bit. I'm enjoying Thugs/Pain though

I recommend we just get people into the SG and use SG chat for teaming and such. I think it would be inappropriate to take over the "Masterminds" global chat channel for our teaming purposes. (Plus I'm already at the global chat channel limit.) People can also do global friends and just look for friends on Exalted MMs to see if anything is happening.

I actually stayed to do a Synapse with a full team at +2. It took 2.5 hours but I hit level 23.97. After rescuing Percy Winkley I was 24, so I fully IOd myself and I'm ready for next week. I think using Team Teleport into the middle of a spawn with 2 Hurricanes running and pets on Aggressive will be amusing, but the scatter would be a problem. I need to work on my Hurricane herding skills instead.

I plan to make a Merc/TA for the Friday group. Merc is just meh, and TA is not known as one of the better debuff sets, so this is about the only way I'll be able to stand playing it.

I'm wondering about non-SG Masterminds as well, since I have a 32 Necro/Poison on Exalted already.

Finally, the lowbie friendly policy is nice, but it doesn't really fit with the desire to run lots of TFs. I run into this with every Superteam. The people who start first and play regularly do higher and higher levels TFs (for TF Commander and Reward Merits), which means they can't play with the people who start later or don't play often enough to keep up. The early regulars have fun, and everyone else complains that they can't play with the big boys so they quit. Given that we're only playing once a week, people should be able to keep up if they want to. But the late starters may need to play a lot outside of the SG to catch up.

I moved all my unaffiliated MMs over to Exalted. I'll have to run tips missions on them to get them over to hero side, but after that, I'll have 6 different MMs to choose from when we team.

I will be running a special Sunday New Years Day session for beginning MM alts and anyone else that wants to run DFB and the Posi TFs. I will coordinate not dictate what we do. @psylenz and hanging out at the big globe in Atlas ~4pm EST. I hope to see a good turnout . Again the all-MM supergroup and this activity are on Exalted.

My bad on missing Friday. I forgot that I had made previous plans with some buddies to hang out and watch the UFC fights that night. I'll be there Wednesday for sure and next Friday ought to be free as well.

We had up to six masterminds for a special New Years Day spectacular. The newbies, at least I did, all hit level 17 in about 3.5 hours.

Some of the masterminds wanted to know if they should go vigilante to play it on both sides. I suggested to stay hero for now to build prestige.

Our team on New Year's had a rogue MM that is crossing over to Heroes to join the SG. We were running level 30+ hero tips with 2 or 3 MMs still on DOs. We had some slips but it was a far better experience than most PuGs. Death to automatons! Long live the mastermind!

I have 3 MM in the SG. A 38 bots/traps, a 22 demons/sonic, and a lv 8 bots/time. My lv 28 necro/dark just finished her 10 tips, so she can come blueside and run with the team, but I'll need to do 10 more before I can have her join the SG.

What time is the gathering for the gamering on Wednesday (4th)?

What is the plan for what to do?

Informal meeting time 5PM? Let's say bang out the next Taskforce: Synapse at 6PM EST? All the minions should make short work of the millions of clockwork.

Could i still join with my fresh out of the tutorial MM?

I'll be starting up a DFB team this evening at 6 p.m. est for anyone who missed out on earlier fun. After enough trips to get us to lvl 12 (and Lt pets) we can decide where to go from there. Posi 1 and 2 are fun and good exps or we can let one of the more advanced MMs do content and tag along.

I don't think I'll be there at 5, but I'll definitely be there by 6 for Synapse.

Well I have to say that I didn't think that my Wens sessions could match the fun we've been having on Fridays but it sure did last night. We mustered around 5ish and did Tips (which I now much prefer to Sewers) until one of our members was lvl 12 then did Posi 1. Once we finished that we did Synapse and it was a BLAST! We had Demons, Thugs, Bots and at least 2 Ninjas (one mine) and a great mix of Secondaries. We picked up one random MM player before starting and rolled over EVERYTHING. Even the GM towards the end was helpless. I think we had 1 death (hey, things happen) and I heard resummoning like twice all night.

Stacked Leadership is fab. Our damage buff at the end was 80%. We had two Snow Storms, two Freezing Rains and two Hurricanes running for much of the evening.

I'm very pleased with the reaction to this and the fun everyone is having. I'll look for the Friday team tomorrow night.

Is there a channel for this group? or a name I can ping for a sgi? - I have a lvl 24 thug/time mm that I'd like to have in this sg if possible

Yeh, Babbage was a joke. You could see the his health bar steadily draining from full to null. I think we took him down in 40 seconds.

Will MMs ever get Kinetics for a secondary? Fulcrum Shift would be great but I want it to see 48+ pets running around with SS-like speed.
