New Tanker Inherent: Anger -- Thoughts?
I see the star as the guy who feels the need to carry the whole team on their back. The guy who has to do all the crowd control, direct the team exactly where to go, who to hit first, does all the damage, takes all (or eliminates) all the damage...they do it all nearly all the time.
And when someone tries to step up to take one of these roles off their hands, things have to be altered so the star can keep his spotlight.
The way I see it, lots of Tankers are already primadonnas, but at least most have to rely on someone else to do their damage for them. How I'm seeing your suggestion, more will become even worse primadonnas as they try to dictate to others what and how to preserve their Anger so that then, the others can simply step back while the Tanker 'performs'.
Fury's kind of similar except, it will mainly dictate the action of the Brute, not the foe or the team. The Brute may simply rush forward to the folly of himself. Hopefully, any teammates are 'smarter' than a Brute and know when to stop and when to go.
I like the mechanic of filling a bar, and think there's plenty of room for variation on it from how Doms and Brutes utilize it.
Also, I make no secret that I think conceptually, Tankers should be the guys who hold their true offensive might in reserve until they've had enough and it's time to cut loose.
But the aggro-avoidance spin in your suggestion goes against what Tankers do for others, which is protect them. Tankers have to want to be the center of attention as far as the battle goes, and incentivizing them not to be by yoinking their damage isn't something I'm down with.
.
I don't see how anyone can say this, and then argue that Tanker damage doesn't suck.

That doesn't mean it sucks.

Maybe im the weird one but why is it every solution seems to revolve around tanks doing more damage?
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

Well with Enhancement Boosters I can pretty much cap a sets damage with 4 slots now (even 3) and still have decent ACC and Recharge on it.

I'm not saying everyone should six-slot their attacks, do whatever you want. I just find it funny that two of the most common topics on the Tanker board are: help with creating a defense-heavy build, and ideas for increasing Tanker damage.
I gotta agree with the others. This just isn't what is needed, and will encourage bad Tanker play to get the carrot of more damage.
I'll add it to the Consolidated thread, but I'll say in this thread that I don't like it.

So, I'm... angry because nothing is happening? It just sounds wrong and goofy.
I'm afraid I do not alike the concept and /unsign this.
(Besides, there is nothing really needing changing with tankers.)

Last night I read this and I thought, if this idea was a pair of scissors, I'd have to take them off you.
From now till Omega (that last incarnate) and then some I am pretty much not interested in AT wide changes to any AT. If anything maybe the proliferated sets to an AT still have some unfair disadvantage that's a tad extreme at some level, which won't exist for all anyway.

Well, at least this idea has one thing going for it: it's pretty much united the Tanker forums on an issue. Granted, it's to say that this is a bad idea, but still, how many times has this forum every had this many people arguing the same side of a subject?

I think Brute players would love this. They'd never have to worry about a tank getting in first and grabbing all the aggro and ruining their fury building potential.
So yeah, not a good idea for Tanks. Sorry.

1. Misleading thread title, I was hoping it was actually something new on beta.
2. The numbers are incredibly overpowering.
3. The premise of the inherent is to reward tankers for not tanking.
Were you drunk when you made this thread?

Did you read the thread? 2 posters actually agreed with the OPs suggestion before everybody bandied against it.
Then you ask if the OP had been drunk at the time. What's worse? Saying incoherent gibberish while you're drunk or honestly supporting the incoherent gibberish of a drunk?
...all in all, I just think your comment about him being drunk was uncalled for but I figured it was in good fun...although that's questionable considering I have to come back and explain to you how my previous post was relevant. So now the 'notsureifserious.jpg' may have been appropriate in reply to your previous post...

I think you're the one being too serious, lighten up.

Bad Idea.
You would be giving the King of HP more damage for doing nothing. How about making it interesting and have a trade off. Whenever in that High Burst damage state, they get Blaster HP and lose passives.
Otherwise there would be nothing but Shield/Electric tanks running around with Spring attack and teleport.

I don't suppose there's anything wrong with it, but are you admitting that's what you want for Tankers? To go from the guy that tries to herd as many foes to the guy that hangs back and lets the squishies put themselves in danger instead? It's less a 'team preservation tactic' and more a 'selfish want to be the star' and that mentality is something I don't take too kindly of, on a Tanker, a Brute, a Scrapper, a Dom or whatever.
I'm just looking to see if this concept is desirable for the AT...
