So is anime now fully supported?
"If you'd like, I can help make it happen. It will be everything you could ever want in an Magical girl costume bundle! All you have to do is make a contract with me!"

Shoot it! Shoot it now!!!
on a sidenote I done some anime inspired characters.. Thought anime is a pretty wide ranging genre...
you got mecha girls with guns space cowboys magical boys that turn into girls. mecha power by willpower, aliens of all sorts, dark fantasy, slice of life shows...
"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.
I've actually used it like that twice myself.
Once as a regular aura for my magical girl "Sakura Tenshi" another as a combat aura for my samurai character in full armor. What's amusing was the unintentional symbolism with it: one of the metaphors sakura contain is the brevity of life and by extension, a symbol of death. So whenever my katana scrapper draws his sword, sakura petals fall, and enemies DIE. |

Oh, hey man, that sounds cool, sign me up!
After all, Madoka died for my sins, right?
so I'm covered- I mean, I wouldnt want her sacrifice to be for nothing...
Magical Boy
hows that for Gender Equality?
on a slightly more serious note, Id envision a Magical Boy to be someone like Erio Mondial, from Nanoha Strikers:
Erio
Chrono or Yuuno (when hes not a ferret) from the same series
Chrono
Yuuno
Negi Springfield, from Negima
Negi
or Kaz, from Pangya
Kaz
Or really, one could make a case for any of the more elaborate Soul Reapers from Bleach- I mean sure, weve got the Martial Arts robes, but they barely cover your basic Soul Reaper mook, the captains and lieutenants gear can get pretty eccentric...

Also, I recommend Safebooru for image links like that.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go sob in a corner because I just realized how much of a massive nerd I am.
The off-beat space pirate...Capt. Stormrider (50+3 Elec/Storm Science Corruptor)
The mysterious Djinn...Emerald Dervish (50+1 DB/DA Magic Stalker)
The psychotic inventor...Dollmaster (50 Bot/FF Tech Mastermind)
Virtue Forever.
Havent really followed the Negima manga, just the shows, he didnt really seem to do a lot of fighting in them. I'll admit my "Magical Boy" critera was pretty lax, I was just going with "cute boy in elaborate/frilly clothes" which is what I'd be wanting out of a companion to any sort of "Magical Girl" set.
I also purchased the Gunslinger set for the Saloon Girl outfit, as it allowed me to make a fairly decent attempt at a loligoth Kanu:
now if there was just a Horse-Cutter in TW...
I'm so glad this thread is just a joke...
NOR-RAD - 50 Rad/Rad/Elec Defender - Nikki Stryker - 50 DM/SR/Weap Scrapper - Iron Marauder - 50 Eng/Eng/Pow Blaster
Lion of Might - 50 SS/Inv/Eng Tanker - Darling Nikkee - 50 (+3) StJ/WP/Eng Brute - Ice Giant Kurg - 36 Ice/Storm Controller
Where's the picture for "oh my good, you like something I don't like!"
Yes, we get it, you don't like anything not Four Colour superheroics, you've raised this point in both this and the superhero stuff thread.
Badge Earned: Wing Clipper
A real showstopper!
Missing out the long martial art robes, like the ones you see in Bleach that goes all the way to the feet.
Or a skirt option ( aikidogi /Hakama) for males & females that goes all the way to the feet,
I will miss you City of Heroes..
Now that Siolfir got the anime thing outta the way and showed it's fully covered, the next step is logical

Why won't that fad just die already? Grown men watching a show made for preteen girls. Not just watching it, downright OBSESSING over it. What the hell is wrong with people?

I'm not one of the ones that obsesses over it. Though I do agree that grown men buying the toys is beyond absurd.
I also find the recruitionist types to be absurd, and by appearances, very pushy.
The majority of this fandom falls into very negative areas and overall are not TOLERANT of other people disliking the show and show no LOVE to the haters.
They also seem to not realize that some people are simply very closed-minded and will never like the show and will criticizer people who do.
I've long since come to terms with these facts.
I'd also like to point out that at least half of them are hypocrites by the dictionary meaning of the term: They are not loving or tolerant.
Aside from avoiding labels that are constantly viewed negatively for valid reasons and not being active in the community, this is why I do not like calling myself a Brony
Anime (and manga) is not a genre, it's a medium. Like "western" comics and "western" animation, both are extremely broad.
"Anime" covers everything from Dragon Ball to Ghost in the Shell to Hello Kitty to Monster. Similarly, "comics" encompasses stuff as varied as Batman, Tales from the Crypt and Bone. (And when you go further abroad, Asterix, Heavy Metal and Blacksad.) And I'm just mentioning big, popular names, not the really obscure stuff.

I mean, I get being into odd stuff. Watching the show, I'd find weird, but whatever floats your boat. It's the near religious fanaticism that I don't get. ( Sorry for the tangent. I'm done now. )

See the thing about Anime and Toku, is that they have tons of sub-generas.

Problem comes around in people who only are familiar with it in passing who generalize it based on some BAD examples of sub-genres. Someone catches an episode of DBZ and suddenly believes all anime is spikey-haired freaks shouting incoherently for 15 minutes amid a slew of flashbacks before even starting a ridiculously OP-ed fight. The ones who are in that category and who will refuse to even watch far better examples of anime such as Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Deathnote ( to get a more recent one ), and so on are the most annoying to deal with. Those are the ones like the OP who tend to get confrontation about what the perceive as "too much anime influence" in a game such as this.

I've seen some of the weapons from bleach in second life, I have a los lobos for my custom power ranger avatar in place of the generic saber-guns, and that Cero Mestudra thing or whatever it's called? Spammy and potentially lag-inducing as a super sayin transformation or ACUS combat hud DBZ-style energy gather on SL, if not slightly less so.
But all of these were pretty much made by the same people so IDK...

Really, there are no such things as genres.
Also, we have no way of really knowing if anything exists except in our own mind since all we have are unreliable senses to tell us about the world (or so we think).
But it is usually convenient to use social conventions of pretending the world really exists, that genres exist, etc when having discussions with others.
And Western isn't a genre, it is a setting. And superheroes isn't a genre, it is a type of character which really has no meaning since many superheroes have no superpowers, others do not have superhero names and outfits.

Granted, I consider manga to be comic books, just from Japan. So, what do I know?
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
