I thought so too. I asked at the summit if these changes were applicable to both PvE and PvP and got an affirmative reply (but that the actual numbers etc were not yet set in concrete).

While that does sound like a definite improvement, AS from hide doing less than 40% of a squishies total HP (no BU/Reds) makes stalkers still pretty sucky for pvp.
As a PVE change, they might be decent DPS dealers now.

Yep. I see this as being primarily a PvE improvement.
I'd expect/speculate that the Assassin's Focus "build-up" will probably also have
time element to it (similar to fury) making it gradually decay.
If that's not the case, I'd imagine stalkers beating up NPC's in a corner somewhere
trying to build up that "Focus" to spike somebody... Potentially fun, but hardly
a game changer.
If AS out of hide is actually non-interuptable and deals Superior Damage, it might
allow you to drop one attack if you have a tight build -- ie. AS -> Next Biggest
Hitter --> AS (ooH) <shrug>
It might be useful - but I doubt it would change much in PvP.
That said, it is a nice PvE change if it works as advertised.

That 400 point buff to their HP cap could be pretty beneficial, and an unninteruptable AS could probably be useful in some zone situations provided Stalkers care to set up unhidden AS's as opposed to just trowing sharks. I don't think this will make Stalkers any more useful in 8v8s, however.

It says when buffed...does this mean only via Hoarfrost and DP or will it be possible to hit around 2000HP on a WP stalker.
The reason i ask is bc once upon a time i built a wp tank with 3500 + hp and it seemed dr slaughtered n i was only capable of 3500 with buffs. Seems like a good question to me...
That would be because the hard cap for Tank HP is 3534.
I thought DR didn't affect +HP?

The new cap will allow Stalkers to reach just above 2000 hp, assuming they don't raise or lower it before release. This is obviously to mend the whole issue of +HP powers becoming somewhat irrelevant with the base HP boost but not cap boost at the same time. I can see this making a pretty big difference in Stalker survivability, as if they had problems with that anyways.

They will just be harder to kill. It's possible that some creative Stalkers will find ways to make the uninterruptable AS out of hide and Assassin's Focus thing be very effective, but I doubt most Stalkers will be able to do that very effectively. In some ways, that sounds good, because it would give good Stalker players the ability to have a big advantage over bad or average ones, provided those buffs are actually useful in PvP.

Yeah, maybe they will ACTUALLY be encouraged to use AS. was referring more to the HP buff. A buff to AS is always a great thing.
Something worth noting with this change, as of right now, I can be out of hide for 6 seconds, drop into AS animation and get the full Crit as you go back into hide while it animates. With this change, you wil need to wait the full 8 seconds before you even think about using AS otherwise you'll end up with some worthless out of hide stalker attack.

If possible, flag the uninterruptible version of AS to be PVE only. Have the pvp version still be interruptible so as to not mess with MY ASing while out of/in to hide. Problem solved.

-Assassin's Strike: using Assassin's Strike outside of hide will be an uninterruptible attack with no windup time, dealing Superior damage. This will allow Stalkers to do very competitive dps.
-All Stalker attacks that are not Assassin's Strike will build stacks of a buff called Assassin's Focus. Assassin's Focus increases your chance to critically strike with the out-of-hide Assassin's Strike.
-Stalker Buffed Max HP will be increased by about 400. This should allow them to fully benefit from powers like dull pain, hoarfrost, etc.
-These changes to Stalkers should make them very competitive top-end damage dealers, and help them with their early attack chain since they can use Assassin's Strike mid-combat.
