GUI windows keep resetting after 11/10/11 patch

Not that several players didn't report this during the VIP beta, but my GUI windows keep resetting to default positions every time I log in. Additional power tray bars are right in the middle of my window when I log in. I have to spend the first few minutes of gamplay (per character) rearranging my GIU to the correct layout. Only to have it reset the next time I log in.

If you're also seeing this issue, post here. I also recommend you /bug this every time you log in with this issue.

Technically, you can save window defaults and load those defaults after you log in, but the idea of needing to take a moment to unbreak the UI every time you sit down to play for every charater is crazy.

It is annoying, but I did have success saving the setup as default, and it seemed to be reloadable. I don't have time right now to try logging on and off multiple times to see how long it works. You have to stay logged out a bit for a fair test.

(The default-saving and -reloading buttons I'm referring to are at the very bottom of the "General" page of the options window.)

Understood, but having to do this every single time we log in with every single character is tedious, to say the least.

To say the most:

That's a quick fix, but the Target window isn't affected by it, and if you check your settings themselves, they don't actually change. The scrollers for color stay to their bugged settings.

Yeah, if I'm going to have to spend the first few minutes of every login rearranging my UI, that is just not good. And fairly unacceptable.

And, as if this bug doesn't make swapping from alt to alt enough of a pain, the /buycoh command is now gone. Is there any other slash command to drop out to the login (or character select) screen without having to wait 30 seconds?

This it the flippin pits! Colors gone, UI rescaled, positions moved, Inspiration tray moved, windows scaled to 100%....

Seriously, this happened to me twice now on the same character. I logged in, things looked normal. I then zoned to RWZ, and poof! UI reset. I stopped, fixed everything but the colors, then ran to AE to test the ambush nerf. I loaded into the mission, and pow! UI reset again.

Menu/quit/ quit to desktop.

With as much as I switch characters as needed, this patch is a major hindrance. It needs to be fixed ASAP

Perhaps. That and other things >.>

I'll jump on the train, the UI issues are unacceptable, why there's not been an emergency roll-back is even more so.

However, Freedom gave us a simple way to express our displeasure. Before Freedom we had to pay regardless if we liked the changes/issues/bugs or not. Now, that's no longer the case.

Downgrade your account to a freebie and don't spend any money in the store until it's back the way you want it.

I'm paid up for three months, so...

But OTOH, as others pointed out in the patch discussion thread, fix this ASAP for the sake of retaining Free and Premium players (who can just drop whenever things get seriously wonky), as well as VIPs.

Good. Maybe then they'll stop ignoring it and do something about it .

The past year or so they've had to have devs login to beta to get people to install it and actually do the betatesting.....ignoring game-breaking bugs like this that have been /bugged since the first day of closed beta and then PUSHING THEM LIVE is not the way to make betatesters feel important .

What's that you say? NCSoft pushed a buggy as heck patch live? Why, I never!

Still doesn't explain why the bug was pushed live when they apparently know about it.

Build schedules are a very tricky thing. We're not able to just pop code in and send it over to be published the same day. Usually we have to send builds for publishing at least a week in advance.

The ops team supports all NCsoft products, not just CoH. This requires rigorous scheduling which has to be adhered to.

I understand this, but I would think something like this UI problem would be enough to go, "Wait a minnit waitaminnit! Stop the execution!". o.o

We didn't get any kind of acknowledgment that it was noticed in Beta, and it didn't even rate a 'known issues' item. What's up with that?

Exactly. And forgive me Zwill, I'm not trying to kill the messenger, as it were. I'm just befuddled as to why such an issue wasn't a show-stopper.

Whatever reason they used to justify launching Issue 21.5 in this state, I know I'm not going to bother logging in until, at the very least, this one particular bug is squashed.

For something that requires an entirely new build, it's very difficult to put on the brakes on support for every product in the West that NCsoft supports.

The OCR team doesn't scrub for bugs in Beta. That's QA. They don't currently have anyone who posts acknowledgment of bugs during beta. I'll discuss this with the QA managers and see if we can change that.

No offense Zwil - I realize publishing schedules are what they are and that Paragon Studios isn't necessarily calling all the shots with that - but none of this explains why such a show-stopper wasn't squashed when it was reported in beta, which is at least one thing that Paragon Studios does have control over.

Ah well. As long as there's a fix. I'll just take a short break from the game until it does get fixed. Maybe I'll read a book or - looks at stomach - excercise.
