A Thursday live publish?
Smart *** comments are the reason I don't post very often. Let me explain a couple of things, I'm a 60 year old retired man so the opinions of people I think of as children don't really matter a lot to me. I've been here as long as any of you whether I've been posting or not and my opinions and concerns are as valid as anyone here's. If you wish to impress someone with your wit go play with your peers and go mock someone else kid. Oh yeah, save the get off my lawn comments too.
This game is basically my hobby and it upsets me when I can't play. I'm well aware of the maintenence schedule and all of the stated caveats about downtime. It doesn't lessen the impact it has on me and if I wish to vent about it I will. |

Furthermore, engaging in self-centred brow-beating of random people with blanket statements like that neither accomplishes anything nor demonstrates actual maturity, for a definition of "maturity" that does not equal "chronological age." You call people "children," yet your behaviour in this thread has been the most childish of all. You throw a tantrum that the servers are not up, reject realistic explanations for why they may be down and proceed to insult your fellow posters.
Six times the behaviour of a ten-year-old does not inspire respect in people half your age like I am. It inspires us to roll our eyes.
---
So the servers are down. Show some maturity and deal with it. If you come here looking for sympathy, then do the sensible thing and show some sympathy of your own. That way, people who don't like downtime (like me) would be much more inclined to side with you, as opposed to feeling patronised because we're not old enough to matter.
*edit*
And you wouldn't have gotten anything if you hadn't indulged in one of the world's oldest malicious arguments: The self-fulfilling prophecy. If you insult people, then "predicting" they're going to lash back at you is not a prophecy. If your own actions make your prediction come true, then it's not the poor results you should lament, but rather what you did to cause them.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I agree with the original poster. Why should I continue to subscribe if there is this much downtime?
This is a terrible trend the last two months, and frankly I am starting to weigh my options.
I think this is the new incarnate branches. Am I wrong? I figured this publish was the new Alpha, etc. Could it be that and MORE? I hope so.
Global Name: Denver Nugget
Playing since i3 on 8 servers
Oooo look another thread about people complaining about something AND threats to quit.
I love threads like these it makes me warm and happy inside, sorta like when I kick kittens around and punch children.
Keep up the good work! lmao

There has been a lot of downtime, BUT I am not complaining. There is SO MUCH new content I can barely keep up. I will take the downtime to keep the game new and fresh.
LOVING IT!

Well considering I work a full time job AND go to school at night I do not have the luxury to sit around all day on my *** and ***** and whine about the game and/or play it.
On weekends I get to play maybe a couple hours if I am lucky, I live in the real world, not some MMO. So getting bent out of shape about downtime and complaining about it on a forum of fellow players is stupid. Complain to the devs, because, frankly the only thing your doing is making a laughing stock out of yourself with threats to quit.
OR keep on complaining because seriously your giving me a good laugh.

Your lack of historical perspective on this is disturbing...

Err...I refuse to tell my age because I don't look like, or feel my age, but I am old enough that there is no way you can consider me a child.
Just because we are , gulp, "old" farts does not mean we no longer have to be polite. We can be more open with what we say as we have been there, done that, but, these youngsters probably know far more than us in certain things...I think it might have been our generation that was terrified to turn on one of those new fangled computers for fear it would explode or something silly like that
Anyways, telling people you don't care about their opinions seems...like something Lord Recluse would do
It is a perfectly fine thing to vent though. Cole knows I am not happy with the downtime either...but I cooked a wonderful breakfast, washed a ton of mismatched socks, and am now sitting at the computer about to read up on the Incarnate system since it seems we are finally to get a solo path
Hugs.

I would ask if you're joking but I know from your previous posts you aren't. Trend??? Gee.. in the past month or slightly more there have been almost no emergency fixes and downtimes have gotten back to normal. Is this 6 hour downtime sudden? Yup.. but guess what? It is par for the course with ANY MMO. You want to leave that's your choice.. but have fun hopping from game to game every 2 months because you will never ever get away from unexepcted downtime. Besides, for the majority of the playerbase this is done during a workday period to impact the least amount of players- just grow up and deal with it.

So cancel your sub. It's not like it means anything since you'll still be able to play the game. The only difference is that you'll have less access to content and you won't get any free points to use in the store, so you'll be spending some if not more of your money on Paragon points. The company gets your money one way or the other.

To be fair, this is during prime time for the european players so they probably could've started it a couple hours earlier.
|
Whatever time they choose is going to impact someones prime time playing hours.

I may not be happy when I want to play and can't because of downtime, but, the new stuff added makes up for that.
Balance in everything.
Hmm..can you imagine how boring a perfect world would be????
If it were not for the bad times, we would never be able to savor, or even recognize, the good times in our lives...
So, downtimes are good for our souls

However- I hate to sound territorial but this is North American company and the majority of their players are NA as well- a company needs to judge service disruptions to affect the least amount of users, which PS has done. Since it's a 6 hour downtime I'm guessing it's back-end server issues they are resolving, and with that you need to factor in Vendor support hours as well... It's easier/cheaper to have IBM on support standby during the NA workday than afterhours, which usually incurs a bigger charge in money or service banked hours. It's unfortunate for EU players but it's simple business sense.
Mainly I just wish the other poster would stop using every chance to whine and beg for more Paragon Points- it's amusing at times but it's starting to sound like the Forum equivilent of "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

I'll save the irritation for when the servers are back up and I learn all I got was socks.

Grow the hell up. It's seriously pathetic. Age does not equal maturity, as you just so adequately proved. You have the right to vent, and we have the equal right to tell you that you're leaving growing up a tad late.
