Have you seen this powerset... ?

Ok I was not aware they had defined the Speed Force quite so thoroughly.
Any other suggestions that aren't variations on that same theme?

Long before CoH came out, my brother had thought of a character that can absorb kinetic energy from moving objects by touch and use it to propel himself or others in a sliding/skating fashion, making basically a human carrom puck...hence his name Carrom. In CoH he was able to create the character with a combination of the kinetic set and the slide power. He's one of the characters in this video trailer I had made...and really need to finish the full movie to sometime.
Edit: Come to think of it. In the comics, I think Marvel's Speedball comes the closest to emulating someone using the kinetics power.

Ok, Speedball. Hadn't thought of that one either.

Sebastian Shaw, Strong Guy and Gambit's powers are based on manipulating/transfering/absorbing kinetic energy
Always remember, we were Heroes.
Though really, Speedball's powers are better emulated with Force Field. Shaw's and Guido's are just good old fashion invulnerability stand ins. Gambit charges things with kinetic energy, but (as far as I know) can't drain speed from others, increase speed in others, steal speed, etc.
I would say like Spines (pretty much unique to Marrow to the best of my knowledge) and issue 1 Claws being identical to Wolverine's it was indeed just the Speed Force that had kin put into the game.

While it may not be a perfect match (I think it is in some ways)...
Fabian Cortez http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabian_Cortez works for me.
The whole making someone more powerful but also able to take away their power (or at least the power that he gave them I guess).

Mookie from Catwoman during No Man's Land absorbs kinetic energy which makes him high... though not sure if he counts i'd love to see him come back and play a comic relief char in a book.

20 villains, Victory, Justice, Infinity, Virtue, Triumph, Exalted -- some more active than others
I want a powerset that allows me to transfer potential energy.
Someone is pointing a gun at you? Steal the potential energy from the shells and you don't have to worry about all those pesky bullets hitting you in the first place.

While the mechanics of the set may be described in the comics...
...I have yet to see it used the way it is in CoH.

While spending time with my favorite Kin/ Defender the other day, it occurred to me that the Kinetics powerset might be unique to the CoH universe.
I cannot recall seeing anything quite like it out on the newsstands in the last 20 years or so. Now I will admit that I have not read every book from every publisher but, it just doesn't seem like something that shows up often (if ever.)
The closest I get is a minor character from the 12 issue Squadron Supreme series from the mid 80's, named Inertia.
As a point of comparison we have several energy blast types, weather controllers, fire and ice throwers, a small military's worth of gun slingers, and more people who just hit, slash, or otherwise get up close and personal, than we know what to do with.
Have you seen this powerset in comics, or perhaps something similar. If so, where?
Nothing serious here gang, just a thought.
