Darn. When they went back to mining the really obscure Fleming short story titles for Quantum of Solace, I dared hope that the next one would be The Hildebrand Rarity.

Can't wait to hear the song.

Hopefully it's better than QoS!

I was actually hoping for The Property Of A Lady or Risico so the ohs could stand in for zeroes and get that cool 007 logo intersecting the title on the posters again.

And please let this be the first (but not last) Craig Bond film to actually use the title of the movie in the song.

I don't really see that as necessary. Casino Royale's theme song rocked.

You are talking about this, aren't you?

"Quantum of Solace" is one of the short Bond stories published in the collection For Your Eyes Only (1960). It's perhaps the oddest Bond story in Fleming's original canon, since it involves Bond doing... well, basically nothing. He's at a dinner party in the Bahamas after finishing a mission there off-screen, and the colony's governor tells him a long and involved story about a couple of people he knew when he was a young man in the Foreign Service, the ultimate moral of which is that it's a bad idea to marry an air stewardess. Seriously, that's what it's about.

The title comes from a phrase the governor uses to describe the level of empathy and compassion that must exist between any two people in order for them to have a working relationship - if it stands at zero, there can be no understanding and things will go horribly wrong. IIRC, Bond is thorougly bemused by the whole concept and leaves Government House wondering what in the world just happened.

Then maybe the idea of quantum of solace was to capture that feeling, because it worked on me...

Actually I cant really rememebr either Craig bond movies, just a few months ago I suddenly rememebred Quantum even existed, I could have sworn to that point thered only been one with him in.

Who am I kidding, anything is better than Skyline. Perhaps even many MST3K flicks. But I'm going off on a tangent now.

Here's hoping to a Bond film better than its latest predecessor.

It weirds me out that they are cutting all ties with Quantum of Solace. I thought QoS had all sorts of unresolved plothooks that was all but screaming "to be continued!"

Maybe I remember wrong.
