Titan Weapons and .....
I dunno. I am going with TW/EA. I have no idea how to cap him to anything. I am going with 3 erad/2 membrane/somethingmulti in DS, 6 touch in one st attack, 4 kincom, 1 mako quad,1 end redux in my other st, 3 erad/somethings in 2 of my cones, and 6 oblits in my last cone. I have absolutely no idea what to slot anything else, but I am getting tough/weave also, and maybe/probably sj. The 3 sets of erad should give me 4.5 ranged def, 9 e/n def. The oblit/kincom should give me 5.6 melee and 5.6 lethal, and DS should give me ~35% melee/smash when stacked once. That alone should give me 40.6 melee not including my actual toggles. I have no idea what it would give me for e/n def. Is this enough ranged def when you slot out the toggles with def enhs? I am thinking to use hami-os if i can afford them, or else just 3 slot reactive armors for 1.8 ranged for 6.3 def total, and shove hami-os in there for the rest of the slots (4, maybe 5 slots in each def toggle).
At that point, including some buffed tough/weave, what am I really sitting at for defense? Would I be softcapped to e/n/s/m/r? EA doesn't have much resistance, so...

I think TW/WP is going to be pretty standard for a while.
You might not be able to softcap many defenses with WP, but S/L is usually more than enough with the amount regeneration you're capable of with WP.
I think the fact that WP has quick recovery and the potential to have physical perfection from the epic power pools will make it pretty popular with TW since it sounds like TW might be rather endurance intensive.
Furthermore, since TW is said to have many AoE attacks it really does lend itself well to rise to the challenge.

I can easily see INV and WP being the popular choices. SR as well, if they learn to click the Mez Protection when needed, instead of everytime it's up.

/WP is the only set I am willing to ever play with a Weapon based primary. The redraw caused by any set with clicks pisses me off to the point of either having to skip a useful click or just delete the character.

I'm leaning towards Fiery Aura myself. I don't really care that every time I heal I have to pull the weapon back out, since with the right timing you can do so between Momentum periods. Even if you waste Momentum to heal, it's easy enough to get back.

I'm thinking might give Dark Armor a try. It'll help with a bit of control and maybe get them packed in tight and allow to get good positioining. As long as the endurance is manageable. I checked TW out just not for long so not sure if my thoughts on control and positioning is going to really matter. Anyone else try this combo with more experience playing it then my few minutes?

I believe I will go TW/Elec, grab 59% with double stacked Defensive Sweep or using Shadow Meld

Momentum and redraw lean me towards a secondary that requires few or no clickies. Specifically I am thinking of WP, INV, or maybe ELA.
My problem is trying to build any of those sets to have soft-cap to S/L/E/N with decent resists. I have not come up with a great build for WP or ELA that does this. |
Ela only needs SM/L.

I'm thinking about Electric, fire, and Dark. With electric I'm planning on getting 32.5 to M/R/A and shadowmeld, still deciding on whether I will use barrier or rebirth. With Dark I'm going full 45% D/R/A, should be monster survivable and deal good damage. With fire I'm just aiming for smashing/lethal, mostly going to be an offensive superstar.

I'm changing my answer to Regen. I think it will be a less popular combo that proves more effective than people expect. I'm in the process of testing it still, but I don't see a point in development where it becomes as irritating as people seem to think it will. Hopefully the combo will reward me for my faith in it.

I redid my TW/Fire brute on beta this morning. Hitting the soft-cap (actually around 47% to S/L) without the melee bonus and jumped into a couple missions. . . I can tell you with the tier 4 cardiac this was a ballet of death! I haven't had this much fun with a toon in a long, long time.
Yes, leveling him will be a challenge with end issues but otherwise. . . SO MUCH FUN!
I think TW/WP is going to be pretty standard for a while.
You might not be able to softcap many defenses with WP, but S/L is usually more than enough with the amount regeneration you're capable of with WP. I think the fact that WP has quick recovery and the potential to have physical perfection from the epic power pools will make it pretty popular with TW since it sounds like TW might be rather endurance intensive. Furthermore, since TW is said to have many AoE attacks it really does lend itself well to rise to the challenge. |

Am still being tempted to think that TW/INV soft-capped to S/L/E/N (and with Aid Self and Rebirth) is likely to outdo TW/WP late game.
I wish mids would update so we could see some real TW/ builds already. I am nearly convinced on TW/ELA but want to see some MIDS!
I just dont see how you can cap melee/ranged with tw/elec. I can get it in the 30%s, but no where near 45%. It is possible to softcat at 46-49% melee with a single application of defensive sweep. However, ranged, just cant see any way to do it with elec.

So I have been playing around with Titan Weapons on test. It's a fun set with a cool rhythm due to the Momentum mechanic.

My problem is trying to build any of those sets to have soft-cap to S/L/E/N with decent resists. I have not come up with a great build for WP or ELA that does this.
Using DB as a proxy -- similar number of attacks in cone/PBAOE (missing 1 cone, with the -RES attack coming later than lvl 2 but you get the idea) -- I modified my FM/INV build to at least leave it with that soft-cap (S/L/E/N) with 1 foe in range of Invinc. But the resists for E/N in particular are not good on INV. Aid Self covers the hole a bit. But for incarnatey goodness, I would love to see some other builds that get /WP and /ELA to the sweet spot.
What do you guys think?
Perhaps the better way to go is M/R/A with Melee being buffed by Defensive Sweep? That still wouldn't address the E/N resist issue.
(in the build below, BF is the placeholder for Defensive Sweep. and i have some extra slots. and on a scrap, it would be conserve power and pp).
