I'm quite enjoying it paired with /DA. -DMG, KD's, Stuns, just a grab bag of helpful survival tools in the set to help rely on Dark Regen less, plus a damage aura that gets the +DMG bonus from Power Siphon.

I have a Dark/Kin Tanker already. I suppose I should list what I don't want to play.

No Dark Armor, no Regeneration, no SR, no Fiery Aura. Done those too much.

I'm feeling Kin/Shield or Kin/Will, or even Kin/Elec.

Still looking for suggestions.

My guides:Dark Melee/Dark Armor/Soul Mastery, Illusion Control/Kinetics/Primal Forces Mastery, Electric Armor
"Dark Armor is a complete waste as a tanking set."

Have you thought about KIN/EA?

Doing a KM/Inv at the moment, it's feels pretty tough too, the -Dam with all that Defense/Resistance you get from /Inv whatever does get though doesn't hurt that much, having a load of fun with it too.

I find that pairing KM with less active secondaries is a good thing. Think SR, EA, things you can set and forget. Willpower incredibly good with KM.

The reason I say this is that KM requires you to cycle attacks as fast as you can possibly do to take full advantage of power siphon. On top of that KM has some seriously long animations (All, but the lowest attacks have 2+ second animations) and the damage from KM is dealt at the end of the animation rather than half way through it, like most sets. So, this can leave you hanging in the middle of animation waiting for the damage to go through to finish off a mob. In the mean time you're watching your health and realizing you need to hit reconstruction or dull pain or an inspiration now, but you're stuck in the 2.83 second animation time of concentrated strike. Oops, you're dead.

Definitely take a strong passive secondary.

I had a km/sd when it originally came out, it was pretty fun and could take down a pylon in good time. Long since deleted, but so are nearly all my other toons

KM/EA and WP are both pretty amazing. I have both and love them to death.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Yeah, but it's the 3 short attacks that make up most of the DPS, witht he major DPS attack of the tier 9.

The other long attacks are a PBAOE, a Blast, and a cone blast that most people skip.

And in a normal attack chain, you're likely to use the 3 starting attacks (quick animations), the Tier 9, and the PBAOE (which are all kinda slow across the board on melee ATs)

I'd put it with EA or WP because the graphics look similar, in addition to the mechanical synergies. Electric or Invulnerability wouldn't be too bad either.

I am very fond of KM/Shield. I hit like a truck and Shield Charge helps to make up for the rather small bit of AoE in Kinetic Melee. Between Against All Odds and Power Siphon, I fight regularly at around 200% damage.

My build was relatively cheap and I drop AVs with ease. I actually haven't tried a pylon, but can't imagine having too much trouble with one.

I won't be a part of your system!

I'll throw out an unusual suggestion, a KM/Ice stalker. The -damage stacks from chilling embrace and your KM powers to help offset the low hp cap of Stalkers, icy bastion is awesome, and using CS to auto recharge buildup is more fun to me than chasing the fury light of power siphon. The silly sounds of KM even sound a little like glaciers shifting.

Sticking with scrappers, I'll second the energy aura suggestion. The graphics of KM and EA really look nice together, and EA has a easy soft cap, stealth, taunt aura, heal, and recharge bonus going for it.

Although it isn't a scrapper, but I do enjoy my km/energy brute alot
